Abstract

This study developed a Google Sites–based digital learning medium to enhance Civic Education learning for grade V elementary school students. Preliminary analysis revealed that learning was still dominated by teacher-centred methods, limited media use, and low student engagement, indicating the need for interactive digital resources. The study aimed to produce a valid, practical, and effective learning medium for the topic “Norma dalam Kehidupanku.” Using the ADDIE development model, the research followed a systematic procedure comprising needs analysis, media design, digital content development, expert validation, limited implementation, revision, and final evaluation. Participants included grade V teachers and students from three public elementary schools in Padang. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments, and analyzed using percentage scores and N-Gain. Results showed very high validity (93.89%), teacher practicality (99.17%), and student practicality (87.82%). Effectiveness testing demonstrated significant improvement in learning outcomes, with the average score increasing from 78.9 (pretest) to 96.6 (posttest) and an N-Gain of 0.90 (high category). These findings confirm that Google Sites–based media effectively support interactive, accessible, and contextual Civic Education learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective instructional design to improve students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities on the topic of addition and subtraction. The study was motivated by the lack of structured learning trajectories and the low level of students’ problem-solving skills in elementary mathematics. This research employed a Design research method by combining the Plomp development model and the Gravemeijer and Cobb model, consisting of three phases: preliminary research, development or prototyping, and assessment. The effectiveness of the developed design was examined through a field test using a one-group evaluation design involving second-grade students at SDN 26 Bukit Putus Dalam and SDN 20 Muara Jambu. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, documentation, and tests, and analyzed using qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results indicate that the developed instructional design is highly valid (96.25%), very practical (93.22%), and effective in improving students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, as shown by the increase in students’ performance during the implementation phase

Abstract

This study aims to develop Augmented Reality learning media assisted by Assemblr Edu and to examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving the motivation and critical thinking skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in Natural Sciences (IPAS). The low level of students’ motivation and critical thinking skills is mainly caused by the limited use of innovative learning media. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research instruments include validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and critical thinking tests. Data analysis techniques involve quantitative analysis using descriptive statistics in percentage form to determine the validity and practicality of the media, as well as the N-Gain test to measure the improvement in critical thinking skills, along with qualitative analysis from observations, interviews, and expert feedback. The results show that the developed media achieved a validity score of 96% (very valid), practicality scores of 96.6% from teachers and 96.30% from students (very practical), and an N-Gain score of 0.719 (high effectiveness). These findings indicate that the Augmented Reality media assisted by Assemblr Edu is feasible, practical, and effective in supporting interactive and meaningful learning in elementary schools
