Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the process and impact of mentoring in transforming Arabic language teaching methods from a grammatical approach to a communicative approach based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) at Darul Ulum Islamic School, Central Lombok. The study employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, actively involving teachers as key agents of change throughout the process. The research stages included needs assessment, program design, training workshops, classroom implementation, and continuous evaluation. The findings indicate that prior to the intervention, Arabic language instruction was predominantly grammar-oriented, focusing on structural rules, which resulted in low communicative competence among students. Following the mentoring program, there was a significant improvement in student engagement, speaking skills, and overall communicative performance. Additionally, teachers demonstrated a paradigm shift toward student-centered learning and were able to design measurable learning outcomes and performance-based assessments aligned with OBE principles. This study contributes to the development of an integrated Arabic language teaching model that combines Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) within the context of Islamic schools. The findings suggest that practice-based mentoring is an effective strategy to enhance both teaching quality and teacher professionalism.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic financial inclusion as a mediating variable in the relationship between Islamic financial literacy and women's empowerment in the halal tourism sector in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. A quantitative method with an explanatory design was employed to analyze causal relationships among the variables. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey targeting women entrepreneurs in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that financial literacy has a significant effect on Islamic financial inclusion, and financial inclusion significantly contributes to women’s empowerment. Furthermore, financial inclusion is proven to act as a mediator that strengthens the relationship between financial literacy and women’s empowerment. These results confirm that improving financial literacy does not directly enhance empowerment, but rather operates through optimizing access to and utilization of Islamic financial instruments.

Abstract

This study examines how food security and wage practices are socially constructed within the halal tourism ecosystem from a maqashid shariah perspective. Despite the rapid growth of halal tourism, existing studies largely emphasize certification, destination competitiveness, and market expansion, while the substantive dimensions of welfare, particularly food security and wage justice, remain underexplored. This research employs a qualitative method with an interpretivist paradigm to capture the lived experiences and meanings constructed by actors within the halal tourism ecosystem in Mataram City, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation involving 20 purposively selected informants, including tourism business actors, workers, local communities, and institutional stakeholders. The findings reveal that food security is not merely determined by the availability of halal products but is socially constructed through access, affordability, and price stability, which are often disrupted by tourism driven market dynamics. Similarly, wage practices are characterized by informality, instability, and dependence on tourist flows, resulting in limited alignment with principles of fairness and adequacy. From a maqashid shariah perspective, these conditions indicate that the realization of hifz al-nafs (protection of life) and hifz al-mal (protection of wealth) remains partial. The study highlights a gap between the symbolic implementation of halal principles and their substantive realization in socio economic practices. This research contributes to the literature by integrating social construction theory and maqashid shariah in analyzing welfare dimensions within halal tourism and suggests the need for more inclusive, justice oriented policy frameworks that address both economic growth and community well being.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to improve community creativity and skills in producing educational toys for children using pinalo-based environmentally friendly digital design approaches. The program was motivated by the limited utilization of local eco-friendly materials as educational media for children and the lack of community competence in developing creative products through digital design technology. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through several stages, including needs assessment, digital design training, educational toy workshops, production assistance, and program evaluation. The educational toys produced included alphabet puzzles, educational blocks, counting games, and color recognition media made from pinalo materials designed using simple digital applications. The results showed an improvement in participants’ skills in transforming local materials into educational products with economic value and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, participants demonstrated enhanced competence in utilizing digital design for creative product development. This program contributes to the development of environmentally based creative industries and supports children’s learning through safe and eco-friendly educational toys.
