Abstract

The development of digital technology over the past decade has significantly impacted religious practices, including within the Christian community. On one hand, digitalization has opened up great opportunities for improving access to faith-based information and church witness. On the other hand, phenomena of digital intelligence—such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and social media algorithms—have also triggered polarization, intolerance, and hate speech that undermine social cohesion. This study aims to describe the role of Christian education in shaping congregational awareness of religious moderation in the digital era through a biblical reflection on Romans 12:18, using a qualitative method based on literature review and textual exegesis. The findings indicate that religious moderation is an expression of faithful obedience realized through ethical digital literacy, strengthening faith-based curricula, congregational formation, moderate pastoral communication, interfaith collaboration, and continuous evaluation. The research reveals that Christian education grounded in the reflection of Romans 12:18 and integrated with ethical digital literacy plays a crucial role in shaping character marked by peace, public responsibility, and interfaith engagement. These findings affirm the need for contextual Christian education strategies that enable congregations to live peacefully, remain resilient, and contribute to social harmony in the digital era.

Abstract

Contemporary theological discourse often contrasts the crucifixion of Jesus as either God's eternal plan (divine intentionality) or the result of a conspiracy between Satan and humanity (demonic causality). This study analyzes the consistency of Jesus' crucifixion as the fulfillment of God's plan of salvation rooted in the Protoevangelion (Gen 3:15) and proposes a new hermeneutical model to reconcile this dichotomy. The research employs a qualitative method with a systematic-biblical theology approach, conducted through a stage of canonical thematic analysis of key texts (from the Protoevangelion to the New Testament) and patristic sources, followed by a stage of critical hermeneutical synthesis engaging with contemporary theological thought. The study demonstrates that the crucifixion was neither Satan's plan nor merely a response to sin, but rather the consistent realization of God's eternal design. As an original contribution, this research introduces the 'Subversive Fulfillment' model, which asserts that the sovereignty of God's love actively co-opts and reverses evil plans to accomplish His salvific purpose. The findings demonstrate that this model not only resolves the theological dichotomy but also provides a foundation for a theology of the cross that affirms the sovereignty of God's love over history, suffering, and the powers of evil.

Abstract

Child trauma recovery in Christian orphanages requires a holistic approach integrating psychology and theology. However, practical models that operationally blend these two perspectives remain limited. This qualitative study aims to develop a mentoring model based on the principle of "listening" through a psychotheological approach. Using a literature study method, this research synthesizes theories of humanistic and trauma psychology (particularly from Carl Rogers and Danel Siegel) with a hermeneutical analysis of Biblical texts. The study yields an integrative model comprising three practical steps: unconditional self-acceptance, strengthening self-esteem, and providing space for self-expression. These three steps operationalize the listening principle within a framework combining attentiveness, valuing, empathizing, and loving. This study provides a theoretical contribution to Christian counseling literature by offering a structured psychotheological model. Practically, this model can serve as an applicable guide for orphanage caregivers in creating a restorative environment for child trauma survivors.

Abstract

The phenomenon of lavender marriage has generally been examined within social and cultural frameworks, while its evaluation from the perspective of Christian dogmatic theology of marriage remains limited. This study aims to analyze lavender marriage through the conceptual framework of Sacramentum–Simulacrum in order to assess the integrity of marital relationships from the perspective of Genesis 1–2, Hosea 1–3, and Ezekiel 16. The analysis is conducted using a qualitative method with a theological-exegetical approach to formulate normative criteria for Christian marriage. The findings indicate that marriage as Sacramentum constitutes a covenantal unity encompassing essential, teleological, ethical, and sacramental dimensions, whereas lavender marriage operates as a Simulacrum that preserves the external form of marriage without embodying its relational meaning, particularly in terms of covenantal fidelity and openness. This distinction highlights the tension between social legitimacy and relational integrity in contemporary marital practices. This study contributes by formulating a systematic model of theological evaluation through the Sacramentum–Simulacrum dichotomy, while also providing a foundation for theological reflection and pastoral response within the church toward non-conventional forms of marriage.

Abstract

Abstract: In contemporary Christian theology, the divine identity of YHWH is often reduced to God the Father, resulting in a fragmented understanding of the relationship between Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the God of Israel. This article investigates YHWH as the single divine identity that grounds the unity of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit within the canonical witness of Scripture. Employing a biblical-theological approach, the study conducts a layered textual analysis of key Old and New Testament passages, including Exodus 3:14–15, Deuteronomy 6:4, Joel 2:28–32, Romans 10:9–13, Philippians 2:9–11, 1 Corinthians 8:6, John 1:1–3, and Hebrews 1:10–12. The findings demonstrate that the oneness of YHWH in the Old Testament functions as a covenantal identity claim rooted in creation and redemptive action. The New Testament consistently applies texts, attributes, and prerogatives of YHWH to Jesus Christ without abandoning Jewish monotheism. The term “single” in the title, therefore, denotes the indivisible unity of divine identity rather than a denial of personal distinction. This study argues that the doctrine of the Trinity represents a canonical articulation of YHWH’s unified and relational identity, firmly grounded in biblical monotheism.

Abstract

This study aims to affirm digital preaching as a theological mandate of the church in the digital era, rooted in the Great Commission and the Missio Dei. The research is motivated by a gap in previous studies that primarily focused on the technical and communicative aspects of digital ministry, without adequately framing them within the church’s theological responsibility. Employing a descriptive qualitative method through a literature-based approach in practical theology and digital media, this study finds that digital preaching plays a strategic role in strengthening the faith of believers, preserving doctrinal purity, and expanding the church’s mission in a contextual manner within online spaces. The findings reveal that social media is not merely a technological adaptation tool, but a new missional arena where the church can embody God’s truth and love in relevant ways for the digital generation. Practically, the study recommends that churches develop sustainable digital ministry strategies that balance theological depth with communicative effectiveness. Hence, digital preaching is understood not only as a medium of spiritual communication but also as a missional and contextual practice of practical theology for the church today and in the future.

Abstract

Jesus' death on the cross presents a paradox between God's eternal nature and the reality of a dying God, sparking intense debate in pluralistic societies. This study analyzes the relationship between Jesus' divinity and death from a soteriological perspective using systematic theology and historical-biblical analysis. The research demonstrates that the doctrines of communicatio idiomatum and Chalcedonian Christology resolve this paradox by maintaining the integrity of both natures in one Divine Person of Jesus. The findings reveal that Jesus' death in human nature constitutes the ultimate expression of God's saving love. Precisely because Jesus is God, His sacrifice is able to redeem all humanity, while His humanity enables this redemptive event to occur. These findings not only strengthen the theological foundation of redemption doctrine but also provide a relevant resolutive framework for contemporary dialectics about Christ's identity. The theological implications require the church to embody cruciform spirituality through practices of kenosis and solidarity with the suffering.

Abstract

Jesus, who deliberately crossed the region of Samaria—an area avoided by the Jews—to meet a Samaritan woman near Jacob’s well in the town of Sychar, raised many questions about the purpose and theological significance of His action. This study investigated the Christological meaning of Jesus’ self-revelation as the Messiah and Savior of the world in the dialogue with the Samaritan woman in John 4:1–42. Using a qualitative method through literature study and textual exegesis, the research found that Jesus’ intentional passage through Samaria, an area traditionally avoided by Jews, carried divine intent as part of God's universal plan of salvation. This act by Jesus reflected the early stage of salvation for non-Jewish nations and served as an example for the disciples prior to receiving His message in Acts 1:8. This study affirmed the importance of an inclusive and missiological Christology in responding to a socially fragmented reality marked by ethnic, gender, and religious divisions.
