Abstract

Persepuluhan merupakan persembahan yang wajib dibawa orang Israel ke rumah Tuhan. Persembahan ini menjadi bagian atau hak dari para imam baik Imam Besar, Imam Kepala dan Imam-imam lain yang bertugas secara khusus orang Lewi yang ditetapkan Allah untuk melayani di rumah Tuhan. Gereja-gereja masa kini terutama dari gereja aliran Pentakosta dan Kharismatik masih menetapkan persepuluhan sebagai suatu kewajiban yang harus dipersembahkan jemaat ke rumah Tuhan. Secara umum mayoritas jemaat di GBI Rempoa Rayon 1H sudah memberikan persepuluhan akan tetapi motivasi memberi cukup beragam. Ada yang memberi semata-mata karena kasih dan ketaatan kepada Allah. Ada yang memberi karena ingin diberkati secara materi dan ada juga yang memberi persembahan karena itu sebagai suatu kewajiban. Ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan metodologi yang digunakan adalah penyebaran kuesioner (survey). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara persembahan persepuluhan dengan berkat yang diterima jemaat GBI Rempoa Rayon 1H.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali cara pemberdayaan generasi muda dalam menumbuhkembangkan karakter Kristus di era digital. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi informasi yang membawa kemudahan, generasi muda dihadapkan pada tantangan besar dalam mempertahankan nilai-nilai Kristiani. Pembentukan karakter Kristus, yang mencakup kasih, kerendahan hati, dan integritas, menjadi semakin sulit dengan adanya pengaruh negatif dari media sosial dan konten digital. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan sinergi antara keluarga, gereja, dan masyarakat untuk membimbing generasi muda dalam menghadapi era digital yang semakin kompleks. Selain itu, pemanfaatan teknologi digital, seperti aplikasi pendidikan berbasis iman dan konten inspiratif, dapat menjadi alat yang efektif dalam mendukung pembentukan karakter Kristus. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka untuk mengidentifikasi tantangan dan strategi yang dapat diterapkan untuk membimbing generasi muda dalam menumbuhkan karakter Kristus, agar mereka dapat memanfaatkan teknologi dengan bijak sekaligus menjaga nilai-nilai Kristiani dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to discuss the parody of "The Last Supper" presented during the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics as a contradictory product of postmodern values against Christian values. This research employs a qualitative method through literature review. The method not only focuses on collecting data but also aims to deeply analyze the identified sources so that each piece of data can provide arguments that either support or refute the main analysis. The study explores the value conflicts arising between the original meaning of The Last Supper in Matthew 26:17-29 and its reinterpretation in modern culture. The findings reveal that the narrative of The Last Supper in the Gospel carries several significant messages or meanings, which give rise to spiritual values as part of God's covenant with His people. The first meaning is that Jesus' Last Supper serves as a reminder of God's promise to reunite with His people at the Lamb's Supper in Heaven. The second meaning is the value of liberation. The third meaning highlights the understanding that the disciples are part of the same body of Christ. The fourth meaning is the fellowship value (1 Corinthians 10:16b). The fifth meaning pertains to sanctification, where the wine shared by Jesus symbolizes His blood shed for all humanity. The sixth meaning emphasizes gratitude, as The Last Supper embodies a practice of thanksgiving. The seventh meaning views The Last Supper as a sacred liturgy. The eighth meaning focuses on evangelism. The ninth meaning reflects the extraordinary value of Jesus' total surrender. Finally, the tenth meaning represents The Last Supper as a symbol of the New Covenant. In conclusion, understanding the profound and sacred values of The Last Supper opens the eyes of Christians to the immense love and grace of God for humanity. These values should inspire Christians to remain steadfast and grow stronger in their faith in Christ.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas parodi “Perjamuan Terakhir” yang ditampilkan dalam pembukaan Olimpiade Paris 2024 sebagai produk kontradiktif nilai-nilai postmodern terhadap nilai-nilai Kristiani. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui studi literatur. Metode ini tidak hanya berfokus pada pengumpulan data, tetapi juga bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam sumber-sumber yang diidentifikasi, sehingga setiap data yang diperoleh dapat memberikan argumen yang mendukung atau menampik analisis utama.  Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi konflik nilai yang muncul antara makna asli Perjamuan Terakhir dalam Matius 26:17-29 dengan interpretasi budaya modern. Hasil penelitian yaitu narasi Perjamuan Terakhir di Injil mengandung beberapa makna atau pesan penting yang melahirkan nilai-nilai spiritual sebagai bagian dari janji Allah bagi umat-Nya. Makna pertama, Perjamuan Terakhir Yesus sebagai pengingat akan janji Allah untuk berkumpul bersama Tuhan kembali dalam Perjamuan Anak Domba Allah di Surga, Makna kedua adalah makna pembebasan, makna ketiga memberi pemahaman bahwa para murid adalah bagian dari satu tubuh Kristus yang sama. Makna keempat, Perjamuan Tuhan memiliki makna persekutuan (1 Kor 10:16b). Makna kelima, yakni nilai pengudusan. Anggur yang Yesus bagikan adalah simbol darah-Nya yang tercurah bagi semua umat manusia. Makna keenam, Perjamuan Terakhir sebagai praktik pengucapan syukur. Makna ketujuh, Perjamuan Terakhir sebagai liturgi sakral. Makna kedelapan, adalah makna penginjilan. Makna kesembilan adalah nilai penyerahan total Yesus yang luar biasa. Makna kesepuluh, Perjamuan Terakhir sebagai simbol Perjanjian Baru. Kesimpulan Pemahaman akan makna Perjamuan Terakhir yang mengandung nilai-nilai suci dan mulia membuka mata umat Kristen akan besarnya kasih dan anugerah Tuhan bagi manusia. Nilai-nilai yang selayaknya membuat umat Kristen bertahan bahkan semakin kuat dengan imannya kepada Kristus.

Abstract

Certain church groups or denominations have recently given rise to movements that oppose or are even hostile to custom or tradition, such as those that oppose ulos giving. Arguments opposing the rejection of Batak ulos are frequently illogical and lack a thorough understanding of this culture. Therefore, the goal of this article is to educate the Batak community by presenting the Christian ethical perspective of the Batak ulos' local wisdom values. This will help to prevent the widespread rejection of the Batak people's usage of ulos as their identity. The research methodology employed in this qualitative study is library research and interviews with several sources. The study's findings demonstrate that, when viewed through the lens of Christian ethics, the local wisdom values found in Batak ulos are not in conflict with one another but rather align with God's word. As a result, this essay can significantly aid in educating Batak people from different religious backgrounds on the importance of local wisdom and how the Bible views these values.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTransformative Christian leadership is the leadership of a leader who is able to influence changes first to the people being led and second to the organization being led. The purpose of this study is to see the role of transformative Christian leadership in its responsibility to society. This qualitative research method (library research) using Miles and Huberman data analysis consisting of four stages (data collection, data display, data selection or data selection (condensation data) and conclusion). The results of this study indicate that the role of transformative Christian leadership is to bring change to society through the people being led and the organization being led. Transformative Christian leadership both in the church and other Christian organizations has a responsibility to bring better change to the wider community.Keywords: Christian Transformative Leaders, responsibility, Church, Society. ABSTRAKKepemimpinan Kristen transformatif adalah kepemimpinan seorang pemimpin yang mampu memberikan pengaruh yang membawa perubahan pertama-tama terhadap orang yang dipimpin dan kedua organisasi yang dipimpin. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat peran kepemimpinan Kristen transformatif dalam tanggung jawabnya terhadap masyarakat. Metode penelitian kualitatif ini adalah studi pustaka (library research) dengan menggunakan analisis data Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari empat tahap: pengumpulan data (data collection), penyajian data (data display), pemilihan data atau seleksi data (data condesation) dan kesimpulan (conclusion). Hasil dari penelitian in menunjukkan bahwa peran kepemimpinan Kristen transformatif adalah membawa perubahan bagi masyarakat melalui orang-orang yang dipimpin maupun organisasi yang dipimpin. Kepemimpinan Kristen transformatif baik di gereja maupun organisasi Kristen lainnya memiliki tanggung jawab untuk membawa perubahan yang lebih baik bagi masyarakat luas.  Kata kunci: Kepemimpinan Kristen Transformatif, Tanggung Jawab, Gereja, Masyarakat.

Abstract

Transhumanism is a philosophical and cultural movement that focuses primarily on transcending the biological limitations of humans through technological advancement. In the Christian context, transhumanism poses a number of theological, moral, and spiritual challenges. Many Christian thinkers are concerned that transhumanism could undermine the traditional understanding of humans as creatures created in the image of God, and threaten the moral and ethical values ​​that underlie Christian teaching. Drawing on figures such as Ray Kurzweil and Nick Bostrom, as well as a review of recent literature, this article seeks to answer the fundamental question: how can Christianity respond to attempts to replace dependence on God with dependence on technology? It also offers insights into how the church can play a critical role in guiding people in the face of technological advancement. The result is that the church needs to re-teach the values ​​of the Imago Dei, the church needs to become a place for discussion of God's will for humanity as a central theme in Christian theology that includes understandings of creation, purpose of life, salvation, the end of time and human relationship with God.

Abstract

Generation Z is a unique generation. They are born and grew up in a rapid advancing technological era, especially digital technology. Yet, churches often ignore their uniqueness so that the services they hold are not aligned to Generation Z style. Therefore, Churches need to provide special strategies to embrace and reach them through contextual services. Starting from this case, the research aims to find strategies in holding a contextual services for generation Z in the digital era. This research is qualitative descriptive with a literature study method.The result of the research show three important strategies that must be considered to develop contextual services, firstly a partnership-based service strategy, secondly a needs-based service strategy, and thirdly a technology-based service strategy.

Abstract

Christian leadership is faced with serious challenges in the form of a crisis of integrity and moral degradation that is increasingly undermining the spiritual leaders of the church. This phenomenon not only reflects the spiritual disorientation of church leaders but also threatens the church's testimony and transformation in society, hindering its role as a light. This study aims to examine theologically how the church can build a spirituality of Christian leadership rooted in integrity and morality. By employing a descriptive qualitative method in a literature study approach, this article demonstrates that Christian leadership must understand its nature, enabling it to identify and respond to the crisis of integrity in modern Christian leadership. Thus, a foundational theological building is needed regarding the morality and integrity of Christian leaders.   Abstrak Kepemimpinan Kristen diperhadapkan pada tantangan serius berupa krisis integritas dan degradasi moral yang kian merongrong pemimpin rohani gereja. Fenomena ini tidak hanya mencerminkan disorientasi spiritual para pemimpin gereja, tetapi juga mengancam kesaksian dan transformasi gerejawi dalam masyarakat untuk menjadi terang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah secara teologis  bagaimana gereja dapat membangun spiritualitas kepemimpinan Kristen yang berakar pada integritas dan moralitas. Dengan menggunkan metode kualitatif deskriptif dalam pendekatan studi pustaka, artikel ini memperlihatkan bahwa kepemimpinan Kristen perlu memahami hakikat kepemimpinan Kristen, sehingga dapat mengidentifikasi sekaligus merespons krisis integritas dalam kepemimpinan Kristen modern. Dengan demikian, diperlukan sebuah bangunan teologis yang fondasional terkait moralitas dan integritas pemimpin Kristen.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and the advancement of culture have consciously changed the economic landscape and lifestyle, including that of Christian families. The availability of easily accessible online loan services, in line with a consumerist culture reinforced by social media and digital branding narratives, has led many families to fall into debt without careful consideration. This has led to a crisis of responsibility in household financial management, impacting spiritual life and the witness of faith. Phenomena emerging in the field reveal economic pressure within families, relational conflicts, and social sanctions resulting from the burden of online loan debt. The purpose of this study is to examine the theological and ethical aspects of digital debt culture and its implications for the responsibility of Christian families. Using a qualitative method with a theological literature review approach and phenomenological analysis, it can be concluded that Christianity can understand the nature of online loans and debt culture within a theological ethical framework. This can build the moral responsibility of Christian families against the threat of consumerism. Thus, Christian ethics regarding debt culture can be actualised in the church through church financial ethics education, as the crisis of responsibility within Christian families stems from the lack of faith-based financial ethics education. Additionally, the absence of pastoral guidance on managing blessings and living simply exacerbates the issue.

Abstract

The digital era has significantly changed the existence of social and religious communities, including in the spread of dogmatic teachings that build the faith and identity of religious communities. However, digital transformation has also opened up space for the growth of religious radicalism, which is spread massively and uncontrollably through social media and digital platforms. The Church, as a religious institution, faces serious challenges in nurturing its congregation amid ideological currents that threaten the values of tolerance and diversity. The phenomenon of religious identity fragmentation, characterised by exclusivism, polarisation, and narratives of religious superiority or claims to truth, further exacerbates the potential for intra- and inter-religious conflict. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of the church in shaping a tolerant theological mindset as a response to radicalism in the digital age. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through literature study. It can be concluded that Christianity can understand the nature of the digital age and the narrative of religious radicalism, as the digital age has become a new space for the rapid spread of religious radicalism narratives through social media and online platforms. This situation exacerbates the fragmentation of religious identity, where believers become increasingly polarised. Therefore, the church has a responsibility to shape a tolerant theological reasoning that can embrace differences and restore the integrity of faith identity amid the challenges of the digital age.
