Abstract

Work flexibility has become an increasingly important element of modern human resource management, particularly in response to rapid technological change and shifting workforce expectations. Flexible work arrangements, including schedule, location, and task flexibility, are believed to influence important employee outcomes such as well-being and organizational commitment. However, empirical evidence regarding these relationships in emerging economies such as Indonesia remains limited. This study aims to examine the effect of work flexibility on employee well-being and organizational commitment, as well as to explore the mediating role of employee well-being in the relationship between work flexibility and organizational commitment. A quantitative approach with a descriptive–verification design was employed. Data were collected from 378 private sector employees in Bandung, Indonesia, using a structured questionnaire distributed both online and offline. The measurement instruments included the Work Flexibility Scale, the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (WEMWBS), and the Three-Component Model of Organizational Commitment. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 24.0. The results indicate that work flexibility has a significant positive effect on employee well-being (? = 0.541, p < 0.001) and organizational commitment (? = 0.312, p < 0.001). Employee well-being also significantly influences organizational commitment (? = 0.489, p < 0.001) and partially mediates the relationship between work flexibility and organizational commitment. These findings highlight the strategic importance of implementing flexible work arrangements to enhance employee well-being and strengthen organizational commitment in Indonesian organizations.

Abstract

One of the strategies to attain local sustainable development is integrating green economy principles into rural economic enterprises. Using a qualitative case study approach, this research explores how green economy is integrated into rural economic enterprises in the Kintamani District, Bali. Data collection was carried out by conducting in-depth semi-structured interviews with 22 stakeholders and observing the area under study. The data obtained were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results of the research point to the following: 78% of the managers of BUMDES claimed that the main obstacle was the lack of initial capital, while 85% of all interviewees mentioned an existing institutional gap. Yet, 92% of the respondents assessed the economic potential of green models as positive in the long run. On the contrary, 75% of young people and those with higher education greeted the change, while only 45% of farmers with over 20 years of experience showed a willingness for change. The study proposes a four-stage roadmap comprising establishment, piloting, expansion, and institutionalization. Results indicate that the gradual approach received 95% support from stakeholders, and when accompanied by training, the percentage of adoption can be increased by 68% in pilot projects. The study concludes that the transformation to a green economy is an inevitable necessity for ensuring the long-term well-being of the community and protection of the natural and cultural assets of the Kintamani BUMDES.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of digital marketing in increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs in Indonesia, focusing on three MSME actors in various sectors: culinary, handicrafts, and retail. Through in-depth interviews, it was found that digital marketing has a positive impact on product visibility, market reach, and interaction with customers. Social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and marketplaces such as Shopee and Tokopedia allow MSMEs to reach a wider range of consumers, reduce marketing costs, and increase sales. However, the challenges faced by MSMEs include price competition in the marketplace, limited human resources in digital marketing management, and consistency in content creation. This study concludes that the success of the implementation of digital marketing is highly dependent on internal readiness, technology access, and planned strategies. Therefore, MSME actors need to strengthen their digital capabilities through more efficient training and resource management to maximize the potential of digital marketing and strengthen competitiveness in an increasingly competitive global market. The research provides practical implications for MSME practitioners in formulating adaptive digital strategies, for policymakers in designing targeted digital literacy programs, and for business incubators in developing sector-specific mentoring frameworks to enhance the digital competitiveness of Indonesian MSMEs.

Abstract

Background: Digital technology adoption among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia remains limited, particularly among non-technical users. Many existing commercial applications present barriers related to system complexity, subscription costs, and dependence on stable internet connectivity, which hinder effective business digitalization. Aims: This study aims to develop and evaluate a smartphone-based order recording application tailored to MSME users with limited digital literacy, focusing on accessibility, usability, and operational efficiency without reliance on internet infrastructure. Methods: The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) methodology with a mixed-methods approach. The development process followed five iterative stages: needs analysis involving 18 MSME owners, user-centered system design, technical implementation using a local area network architecture, functional and usability testing, and iterative refinement based on user feedback. Usability evaluation was conducted with 12 non-technical MSME users using task performance metrics and the System Usability Scale (SUS). Results: The application achieved a SUS score of 74.2, indicating good usability, with an average task completion rate of 91.7%, surpassing typical benchmarks for commercial MSME applications. The local network architecture successfully eliminated internet dependency, reduced operational costs, improved system responsiveness, and enhanced data privacy. Key usability factors included simplified interfaces, minimal text input, large touch targets, consistent navigation, and reduced cognitive load. Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that digital solutions designed around user capabilities can effectively bridge the digital divide among non-technical MSME users. This study provides a replicable model for inclusive, low-cost, and accessible business application development in resource-constrained contexts.
