Abstract

This study aims to examine and describe the mathematical concepts embedded in the Ngawu-awu tradition in Gunung Kidul Regency as part of an ethnomathematical inquiry. The research employed a qualitative approach with an ethnographic–ethnomathematical design. The research participants consisted of traditional leaders, village elders, tumpeng makers, and community members directly involved in the implementation of the tradition, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that the Ngawu-awu tradition embodies a comprehensive application of mathematical concepts, including geometry in the arrangement of tumpeng and uborampe (cones, circles, and symmetry), arithmetic and ratios in the distribution of agricultural yields, patterns and sequences in the scheduling of agricultural rituals, as well as measurement and estimation in communal rice field cleaning activities. These findings confirm that mathematics exists as a form of contextual intelligence integrated into the cultural practices of the community. Therefore, the Ngawu-awu tradition holds significant potential to be utilized as a contextual, meaningful, and culturally grounded source for ethnomathematics-based learning

Abstract

Learning progress will only be achieved if the environment is supportive; therefore, parents are expected to act more wisely regarding providing pocket money. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey research method employing a questionnaire to investigate the relationship between pocket money and mathematics learning outcomes among sixth-grade elementary school students at Karangtengah 2 Elementary School. A total of 17 students participated as the sample in this study. Information was collected through questionnaires and relevant documentation reviews. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical techniques and inferential statistical methods. The R square test analysis yielded a result of 0.0174, indicating that the influence of pocket money on mathematics learning outcomes is 1.74%, while 98.26% is influenced by other variables not examined. Based on these findings, there is a positive, though not significant, relationship between the provision of pocket money and the level of motivation in learning mathematics among students. Additionally, the findings indicate a potential positive relationship with motivation, but the direct effect on learning outcomes is minimal and not statistically significant among sixth grade students at Karangtengah 2 Elementary School.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the management of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) literacy program for teachers at SMA Muhammadiyah Mlati. Using a qualitative descriptive case study, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation analysis. Findings reveal that the program is managed through a managed through a systematic cycle: needs-based planning, collaborative implementation (including peer mentoring and hands-on practice), and reflective evaluation via academic supervision. The program is integrated into the school’s work plan (RKS) and aligns with the Merdeka Curriculum. Results indicate that the initiative significantly enhances teachers' pedagogical-digital competencies, fostering interactive and student-centered learning environments. However, challenges such as varying teacher proficiency levels, limited training time, and infrastructure constraints persist. The study concludes that consistent managerial support, tiered training, and strengthened teacher learning communities are essential for sustainability. This research affirms ICT literacy as a strategic educational management tool to improve learning quality in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine teachers’ social-emotional competence at SMA Muhammadiyah Mlati, including self-awareness, emotional regulation, social skills, empathy, and responsible decision-making. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that teachers’ social-emotional competence has developed well. Teachers are able to recognize their emotions, manage stress positively, build humanistic relationships with students, and make pedagogical decisions by considering students’ psychological conditions. However, challenges remain in the inconsistency of deep self-reflection and the dominance of administrative tasks. This study concludes that continuous reinforcement through stress management training and a systematic reflective culture is needed to optimize the quality of learning.
