Abstract

The low quality of scientific publications and student obstacles in reference management and technology adaptation are the main challenges in the university environment. Limitations in compiling citations manually often hinder the smooth writing of the final project. This PkM activity aims to improve the competence of final students of IAIN Laa Roiba Bogor in writing quality scientific papers through the integration of the Mendeley application and the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. The implementation of the activity uses a Participatory and Hands-on Training (learning by doing) approach which includes three main sessions: the basics of scientific writing, Mendeley's hands-on practice, and the optimization of AI for literature synthesis. The target of the activity is final year students of the 2025/2026 academic year. This activity succeeded in providing an in-depth understanding of the structure of scientific papers and the technical skills of using Mendeley and AI as writing assistants. Success indicators are measured through the improvement of final students' skills compared to before the activity and the production of an initial draft of scientific papers that have used automatic citations. The integration of Mendeley and AI has proven to be a strategic step in improving digital literacy and student efficiency in completing final projects according to scientific ethics rules.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education and Character Building plays an important role in shaping students’ character and internalizing religious values. However, conventional teaching methods often limit student engagement and learning achievement. This study aimed to analyze the effect of interactive Canva-based learning media on the learning outcomes of eleventh-grade students in Islamic Religious Education and Character Building at SMA Negeri 5 Kota Bogor. The study employed a quantitative correlational design. The sample consisted of 65 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires as the primary instrument, supported by interviews and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression, coefficient of determination, t-test, F-test, and Pearson Product Moment correlation. The findings revealed that the use of Canva-based interactive learning media had a positive and significant effect on students’ learning outcomes, with a correlation coefficient of 0.779, indicating a strong relationship. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.607 indicated that Canva contributed 60.7% to students’ learning outcomes. Interview findings further showed that Canva improved students’ understanding of learning materials, learning focus, and classroom participation. Therefore, Canva can serve as an effective digital learning medium to enhance the quality of Islamic Religious Education and Character Building instruction. ABSTRAK Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter dan menginternalisasi nilai-nilai keagamaan peserta didik. Namun, proses pembelajaran yang masih didominasi metode konvensional menyebabkan keterlibatan siswa dan hasil belajar belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif Canva terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti di SMA Negeri 5 Kota Bogor. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 65 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket sebagai instrumen utama, serta wawancara dan dokumentasi sebagai data pendukung. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan regresi linear sederhana, koefisien determinasi, uji t, uji F, dan korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif Canva berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,779 yang termasuk kategori kuat. Nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,607 menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Canva memberikan kontribusi sebesar 60,7% terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Temuan wawancara juga menunjukkan bahwa Canva membantu meningkatkan pemahaman materi, fokus belajar, dan keaktifan siswa selama pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, Canva dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran digital yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti.
