Abstract

contributing to the global burden of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and other metabolic complications. This bibliometric study aims to analyze trends, thematic focuses, and collaborations in scientific publications related to insulin resistance in adult obesity, utilizing data from the Scopus database covering the period from 2019 to 2025. Bibliometric tools such as RStudio, Biblioshiny, and VoS Viewer were employed to extract and visualize findings from 8,037 publications. The results reveal that research activity peaked in 2021, followed by a decline in subsequent years. Dominant keywords, such as "insulin resistance," "obesity," and "metabolic syndrome," highlight the clinical and metabolic focus of current research. Biomolecular markers, such as "glycated hemoglobin" and the "triglyceride-glucose index," reflect a growing interest in more precise diagnostic tools. The United States, China, and Italy emerged as major contributors, with journals like Nutrients and Frontiers in Endocrinology leading in publications. Despite significant progress, there remains a considerable gap, particularly in exploring the role of epigenetics and the microbiota in insulin resistance. Additionally, cross-disciplinary collaboration and participation from institutions in developing countries remain limited. This study emphasizes the importance of global, interdisciplinary efforts to address these gaps and drive innovation in interventions, providing a foundation for future research aimed at reducing the impact of insulin resistance in adult obesity.

Abstract

Vermicompost-based integrated farming offers an organic waste management approach that supports environmental health, agricultural productivity, the circular economy, and community well-being. However, the evolution of knowledge and the positioning of health administration aspects within this field have not yet been comprehensively mapped. This study aims to map publication trends, topic evolution, and the thematic structure of research on vermicompost-based integrated farming and organic waste management. A bibliometric design was employed using journal article data from the Dimensions database covering the period 1986–2027, retrieved on August 23, 2026. The search utilized a combination of English and Indonesian keywords regarding integrated farming, vermiculture, organic waste management, and innovation adoption. The search identified 676 articles, with a final analyzed corpus of 492 documents from 218 sources. Analysis was conducted using Biblioshiny and VOSviewer, examining descriptive indicators, trending topics, thematic maps, co-occurrence networks, and keyword overlay visualizations. The corpus involved 1,302 authors—averaging 3.35 authors per document—with an international collaboration rate of 10.57% and an average of 24.22 citations per document. Keyword networks formed three main clusters: waste processing and soil improvement; productivity, ecosystems, and business viability; and knowledge, innovation, and stakeholder engagement. Topic evolution shifted from climate change, natural resources, and knowledge toward waste management, the circular economy, vermicompost, valorization, resource recovery, and economic viability. Thematic mapping also revealed strong links between resource management, production sustainability, soil health, and economic benefits for agro-coastal farmers. Aspects such as program governance, financing, institutional support, community participation, and farmer adoption have not yet emerged as dominant topics. These findings highlight opportunities to develop SISCAMLING as a model for vermiculture-based environmental health administration, farmer empowerment, and agro-coastal sustainability.
