Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly ChatGPT, in learning. The research employed a quantitative approach using an online questionnaire distributed to students, followed by descriptive and simple inferential analysis. The findings indicate that the majority of respondents hold positive views toward AI, with 68% agreeing and 32% strongly agreeing that AI can enhance the quality of learning. Students perceived AI as beneficial in improving efficiency, material comprehension, creativity, and task completion. However, concerns were raised about potential negative impacts, such as a decline in critical thinking skills and independence due to overreliance on technology. Most respondents also emphasized the need for regulations and specific training to ensure the responsible and wise use of AI. The implications of this study highlight the crucial role of educational institutions in designing targeted AI integration policies, including training for both lecturers and students, as well as promoting AI as a supportive learning tool that fosters creativity and independence, rather than merely serving as an instant problem-solving instrument. This study recommends a wise and responsible integration of AI in higher education.

Abstract

Basic education is a crucial foundation in shaping individuals' character and intellect. The Merdeka Curriculum, as an innovation in Indonesia's education system, provides teachers with flexibility in designing learning methods that cater to students' needs. This research aims to analyze the extent to which elementary school teachers implement psychological principles, such as motivation, cognitive development, and emotional management, within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving in-depth interviews and classroom observations. The results show that the application of psychological principles by teachers can create a more conducive and personalized learning environment, enhancing students' motivation and engagement. However, the implementation faces challenges, such as the lack of teacher training and limited learning resources. In conclusion, sustained support, including comprehensive training for teachers, is necessary to ensure the more effective and optimal implementation of psychological principles within the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi belajar siswa dalam menggunakan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis etnomatematika Melayu Riau yang terintegrasi dengan unsur coding pada materi bentuk geometri di kelas II SD Negeri 192 Pekanbaru. Permasalahan pembelajaran geometri pada jenjang sekolah dasar umumnya berkaitan dengan sifat materi yang abstrak dan kurangnya media pembelajaran kontekstual yang dekat dengan kehidupan siswa. Penerapan etnomatematika melalui konteks makanan tradisional Melayu, seperti kue talam, kue lupis, kue lapis, dan lemang, diharapkan mampu membantu siswa memahami bentuk geometri secara konkret sekaligus meningkatkan motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan sampel sebanyak 10 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket motivasi belajar menggunakan skala Likert 4 poin. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar siswa terhadap penggunaan LKPD berbasis etnomatematika berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dengan rata-rata persentase 96,5%. Aspek minat dan ketertarikan memperoleh persentase 96%, semangat dan ketekunan 96%, motivasi intrinsik dan kepuasan diri 99%, serta pengaruh media dan teknologi sebesar 95%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis etnomatematika Melayu Riau dengan integrasi coding mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa secara signifikan, menjadikan pembelajaran geometri lebih menarik, bermakna, dan kontekstual. Media ini juga berpotensi memperkuat identitas budaya lokal sekaligus mengenalkan unsur teknologi secara sederhana dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar.
