<![CDATA[This study was motivated by the low level of students' spontaneous speaking confidence, which was presumed to be related to students' imagination skills in learning assisted by picture story media among fifth-grade students at SDN 38 Kuranji, Padang City. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between imagination and students' spontaneous speaking confidence in learning assisted by picture story media among fifth-grade students at SDN 38 Kuranji, Padang City. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research method. The population and sample consisted of all 27 fifth-grade students at SDN 38 Kuranji, Padang City. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling, in which the entire population was selected as the research sample. The data were collected using an observation sheet that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data collection was carried out through learning activities assisted by picture story media. Data were analyzed using the normality test, linearity test, and Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results of the hypothesis test using the Pearson Product Moment correlation showed a correlation coefficient of 0.669 with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. These findings indicate that the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between imagination and students' spontaneous speaking confidence in learning assisted by picture story media among fifth-grade students at SDN 38 Kuranji, Padang City.]]>
