This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model in Arabic language courses for Islamic Religious Education students at Universitas Ma'arif Lampung. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 68 students divided into experimental (STAD) and control (conventional lecture) groups. Instruments included learning achievement tests (pre-test and post-test), motivation questionnaires, learning implementation observations, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group with post-test scores of 85.7 (SD=4.3) compared to the control group's 74.7 (SD=5.1). The N-Gain value of the experimental group (0.71, high category) was significantly higher than that of the control group (0.39, medium category) with p<0.001. Learning mastery in the experimental group reached 88.2%, while the control group only achieved 52.9%. Student motivation in the experimental group also increased substantially (82.4% in the high category). The STAD model proves effective in improving student learning outcomes and motivation and is recommended as an alternative strategy for Arabic language learning in higher education.
