<![CDATA[Backround - Kitabah Muwajjahah instruction in Arabic Language Education programs faces persistent challenges, including low student participation, limited reflective engagement, and difficulties in producing coherent Arabic texts. These issues highlight the need for a learning approach that supports both writing development and active participation. Urgency of Research - Although various approaches to Arabic writing instruction have been explored, the integration of reflective journaling, creativity, and project-based learning remains limited. Such integration may provide more meaningful learning experiences and better support writing development. Research Objectives - This study aims to develop a Creative Reflective Journaling (CRJ) approach based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) for Kitabah instruction among students of the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Research Method - This Research and Development (R&D) study adopted the ADDIE model, focusing on the analysis, design, and development stages. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires using a mixed-methods approach. The participants were fourth-semester students enrolled in the Kitabah Muwajjahah course. Research Findings - The results showed that 66.7% of students experienced difficulties with learning Kitabah, while 78.4% needed a learning approach integrating writing practice, self-reflection, creativity, and contextual learning. Based on these findings, a CRJ-based PjBL approach consisting of seven learning stages was developed. Research Conclusion & Novelty - The study produced a CRJ-based PjBL learning design that may enhance writing skills, metacognitive awareness, learning motivation, and student engagement. Its novelty lies in integrating reflective journaling, creativity, and Project-Based Learning into a structured Kitabah framework.]]>
