Community based mangrove nurseries are important for supporting the availability of high-quality seedlings while strengthening coastal education and conservation. This Community Partnership Program (PKM) aimed to improve the skills of coastal communities in mangrove nursery management through the application of organic fertilizers. The program was conducted from April to November 2026 in Kastela Village and at the Wet Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Khairun, using participatory and collaborative approaches. Activities included socialization, nursery preparation, propagule selection, workshops, demonstrations and nursery practices, as well as growth monitoring. The mangrove species cultivated were Rhizophora stylosa and Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, with four treatments: compost, biogranule, bioconversion fertilizer, and control. After five months, the bioconversion treatment showed the highest observed increments in seedling height (1.43 cm), stem diameter (0.07 mm), and number of leaves (6 leaves) compared with the other treatments. The program also strengthened partner participation in technology application and mangrove nursery management. These results indicate that a participatory approach combined with organic fertilizer application can support community-based mangrove nursery development and the production of seedlings for coastal ecosystem rehabilitation.
