Abstract

The digital transformation of education requires elementary school (SD) teachers to utilize innovative, contextual, and appropriate digital learning media for students' characteristics. In Sleman Regency, the use of digital media in learning remains suboptimal because the media used tends to be static and one-way, teacher skills vary, and ongoing post-training assistance remains limited. This Community Service activity aims to increase the professional competence of elementary school teachers in developing and implementing digital learning media effectively by strengthening the idea of pedagogical timing, namely the accuracy of when and for what purpose digital media is used at each learning stage. Activities are carried out through preparation and needs analysis stages, practice-based training (hands-on learning), implementation assistance in the classroom, pretest–posttest evaluation, observation, satisfaction questionnaires, as well as strengthening sustainability through media repositories and practitioner communities. The training activity was attended by 100 elementary school teachers under the Sleman Regency Education Office and carried out at Muhammadiyah Condongcatur Elementary School, with the main resource person delivering material about digital media pedagogical timing. The results of the activities show an increase in teachers' understanding regarding the pedagogical use of digital media, strengthening teachers' abilities to connect media with learning objectives and activities, building collaborative experiences through discussions and presentations of learning plans between groups, and establishing a basis for the implementation and development stages of subsequent good practices. This program is expected to become a model of sustainable teacher professional development and support improving the quality of elementary school learning through digital transformation.
