This study aims to describe the meanings of denotation, connotation, and myth in religious symbols found in the film Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy and their implications for Indonesian language learning at the junior high school level. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data consisted of scenes, dialogues, expressions, gestures, and visual elements containing religious symbols, collected through observation and note-taking techniques. Data analysis was conducted using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory, which includes denotation, connotation, and myth. The findings revealed 47 religious symbols, consisting of character symbols (9 data), dialogues (13 data), clothing (8 data), expressions (6 data), settings (5 data), and religious activities (6 data). At the denotative level, the symbols depict visible religious activities; at the connotative level, they represent values such as purity, patience, loyalty, and steadfast faith; while at the mythological level, they construct an ideology of love from an Islamic perspective as a form of devotion to God. This study recommends the use of films as learning media to enhance students' multimodal text analysis skills, critical thinking abilities, and character development. Keywords: semiotics, denotation, connotation, myth, film.
