This study discusses the relationship between verbal and visual signs system in cigarette advertisements in Youtube. The purpose of this study is to describe how the visual and verbal signs system are the basic elements of message formation and the meaning relations of connotations that appear in cigarette advertisements in Youtube. This becomes interesting due to the prohibition against showing examples of cigarette products themselves in the mass media. Cigarette advertisements show their own uniqueness, namely that they always show the male figure in their advertisements with various kinds of activities they do. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with data analysis techniques using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic analysis. The data in this study were obtained from downloaded video advertisements in Youtube in the form of six cigarette advertising videos, then playing the video into pieces of images, all of which would be analyzed. The writer the analyze the relationship between the verbal sign system and visual signs, in the form of images and writings on cigarette advertisements on Youtube with the meanings contained therein and provide interpretations of the connotative meaning of the interaction of verb signs and visual signs. Based on the analysis, there are verbal and visual signs that have their own meanings, which try to communicate their message through these signs. Verbal signs in cigarette advertisements on Youtube can be found in the tagline, which contains the meaning that appears in the visual sign of the ad. In this case, verbal signs are an important element in adapting the advertising language used to foster reminders and brand awareness of these cigarette products. Visually, cigarette advertisements on Youtube show the independence of these men, indicating the independent nature of men who are able to solve all their problems alone. The construction of the visualization of the male figure in this advertisement also displays a positive image, namely the loving nature of pets. The ability of men to be able to manipulate is also a new image in the male image. AbstrakIklan merupakan bentuk komunikasi nonpersonal yang menjual pesan-pesan secara persuasif dari sponsor. Iklan-iklan rokok yang tayang di youtube selalu unik dan menarik untuk disimak. Hal ini disebabkan oleh adanya larangan untuk menampilkan contoh produk rokok itu sendiri. Untuk tetap bisa beriklan, agency periklanan melakukan strategi dengan menciptakan iklan rokok kreatif.salah satunya dengan menggunakan komunikasi tanda verbal dan tanda visual, yang beroperasi pada dua jenjang, yaitu tanda secara individual dan tanda sebagai sebuah kelompok atau kombinasi. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah melakukan deskripsi, eksplanasi, dan kajian terhadap sistem tanda verbal dan tanda visual serta relasi makna yang terkandung pada iklan rokok yang ada di youtube. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan analisis semiotika komunikasi. Hasil dari analisis mengungkapkan bahwa relasi system tanda visual memunculkan adanya deskripsi berkenaan Relasi sistem tanda verbal dan tanda visual pada iklan rokok U mild memberikan ruang yang cukup luas untuk dipersepsikan dan pesan yang disampaikan. Sebagian besar iklan rokok U mild mengarah pada konstruksi maskulinitas yang dapat dilihat pada penggambaran berbagai aspek seperti segi fisik, ekonomi, sifat, dan aktivitas.. maskulinitas juga sering menampilkan karakter laki-laki yang sukses dan hidup di kalangan kaum menengah keatas. Hal ini dikarenakan kesuksesan juga merupakan salah satu ciri maskulinitas sehingga penggambaran kesuksesan ini mengokohkan konsep maskulinitas yang ada. Konstruksi maskulinitas dalam iklan ini menampilkan juga laki-laki yang penyayang dan mampu melakukan manipulasi.

The purpose of this research is to describe the theme of sexuality in the main character, Maria (novel "Eleven Minutes") and Kiran (novel "God allows me to become a prostitute! Memoar Luka a Muslimah"). The theory of comparative literature (comparative literature) will be the analysis knife of this research. Comparative literary theory generally emphasizes the comparison of two or more works from at least two different countries. This research will completely reveal two works from different countries. The findings of the study show: (1) the similarities in the sexuality of the characters Maria and Kiran include: (a) feeling pleasure and innocence when having intercourse; (b) having sex to fulfill biological needs; (c) Confide in each other with guests; (d) a prostitute by profession; and (e) the pay is high. (2) The differences in the themes of sexuality between Maria and Kiran include: (a) the main character Maria's sexual needs are carried out not because of a feeling of disappointment towards God but because they want to know what it is like to have a sexual adventure, while the sexual needs of the main character Kiran are used as the most basic needs because sex is made the main character as an escape from disappointment to God; (b) The main character Maria graduated from high school, while the main character Kiran is a student (c) The end of the story the main character Maria stops being a prostitute, while the main character Kiran remains a prostitute. Keywords: comparison, comparative literature, sexuality, and themes Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan tema seksualitas pada tokoh utama, Maria (novel ”Eleven Minutes”) dan Kiran (novel “Tuhan Izinkanlah Aku Menjadi Pelacur! Memoar Luka Seorang Muslimah”). Teori Sastra bandingan (comparative literature) akan menjadi pisau analisis penelitian ini. Teori sastra bandingan umumnya menekankan perbandingan dua karya atau lebih dari sedikitnya dua negara yang berbeda. Penelitian ini akan mengungkap tuntas dua buah karya dari negara yang berbeda. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Persamaan tema seksualitas tokoh Maria dan Kiran meliputi: (a) sama-sama merasa nikmat dan tidak berdosa ketika melakukan hubungan intim; (b) melakukan seks untuk memenuhi kebutuhan biologis; (c) Saling curhat dengan tamunya; (d) berprofesi pelacur; dan (e) bayarannya mahal. (2) Perbedaaan tema seksualitas tokoh Maria dan Kiran meliputi: (a) kebutuhan seks oleh tokoh utama Maria dilakukan bukan karena pelarian rasa kecewa terhadap Tuhan tetapi karena ingin tahu bagaimana rasanya berpetualang seks, sedangkan kebutuhan seks tokoh utama Kiran dijadikan sebagai kebutuhan yang paling mendasar karena seks dijadikan tokoh utama sebagai pelarian rasa kecewa terhadap Tuhan; (b) Tokoh utama Maria lulusan SMA, sedangkan tokoh utama Kiran seorang mahasiswa (c) Akhir cerita tokoh utama Maria berhenti menjadi pelacur, sedangkan tokoh utama Kiran tetap menjadi pelacur. This study aims to describe (1) spelling mistake on banners and billboards in the city of Palangka Raya, (2) describe diction mistake on banners and billboards in the city of Palangka Raya. This study is a qualitative research. Qualitative research is used to describe the mistakes in the use of spelling and diction on banners and billboards in the city of Palangka Raya. Based on the results of the data analysis of spelling and diction mistakes on banner and billboards in the city of Palangka Raya, there are 55 language mistakes, the dominant data is the data of spelling mistake from the use of diction mistake data. There are 36 data of spelling mistake, and 19 data of diction usage mistake. The results of the analysis based on the formulation of the problem are as follows. First, the mistake in the use of spelling that were analyzed were 36 data. There are 20 data of spelling mistakes on banners and there are 16 data of spelling mistakes on billboards. Second, there were 19 data that were analyzed in the mistakes of diction. There are 8 data of diction mistakes on banners, and 11 data diction mistakes on billboards.

This study aims to determine the ecranization of Rweinda's Antares novel into the Antares film directed by Rizal Mantovani, namely in the form of shrinking, adding, and varying changes. This research is limited to ecranization analysis of intrinsic elements (plot, characters, and setting). Therefore, this study will describe: (1) the ecranization of Rweinda's novel Antares in the film Antares directed by Rizal Mantovani, (2) the ecranization of the addition of the novel Antares by Rweinda into the film Antares directed by Rizal Mantovani, and (3) the ecranization of changes varies from the novel Antares by Rweinda to the film Antares directed by Rizal Mantovani. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this research is a novel entitled Antares by Rweinda and the film Antares directed by Rizal Mantovani. Data collection procedures in this study used reading techniques, viewing techniques, and note-taking techniques.

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan motivasi dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan tokoh utama berdasarkan teori Abraham Maslow yang terdapat pada novel Kisah untuk Geri karya Erisca Febriani. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif melalui analisis isi. Data diperoleh menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara baca, simak, dan catat. Data dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya motivasi pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar pada tokoh utama dengan ditemukan motivasi pemenuhan kebutuhan fisiologis berjumlah 19 data, kebutuhan akan rasa aman berjumlah 21 data, kebutuhan cinta dan memiliki dimiliki berjumlah 16 data, kebutuhan penghargaan berjumlah 17 data, dan kebutuhan aktualisasi diri berjumlah 6 data. Motivasi pemenuhan kebutuhan akan rasa aman lebih mendominasi pada tokoh Dinda. Hal tersebut dikarenakan Dinda banyak mengalami berbagai permasalahan dalam hal kekerasan, baik secara psikis maupun fisik. Novel ini menceritakan tentang bagaimana tokoh utama menyelamatkan dirinya dari gangguan orang lain yang membuat dirinya tidak aman, karena saat ayahnya menjadi tahanan karena kasus korupsi Dinda sering di-bully oleh teman satu sekolahnya. Terlebih lagi Dinda harus hidup sendiri karena ibunya harus bekerja menjadi TKW.

This study aims to describe (1) the forms of metaphor in the novel Conspiracy of the Universe by Fiersa Besari, (2) the function of metaphor in the novel Conspiracy of the Universe by Fiersa Besari. This research focuses on looking for forms of anthropomorphic, animal, abstract to concrete, synaesthetic metaphors and looking for the function of metaphorical language style which consists of personal, interpersonal, directive, referential, and imaginative functions. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. The researcher uses a stylistic review to analyze the forms of metaphors and the functions of metaphors in this study. The research data are in the form of quotations, words, phrases, clauses, and sentences which contain metaphorical language styles. The results of this study show that the most dominant form of metaphor in this novel is synaesthetic metaphor. The contents of this novel contain many synaesthetic metaphors to deepen what the author conveys in the story so that the story is interesting with the expressions included by the author. The metaphorical language style is presented by inserting a message of the reader's sensitivity in interpreting each series of stories. Meanwhile, the function of the dominant style of language in this novel is the directive function. The directive function in this novel shows that the characters in the story tend to express their desires directly by giving orders or requests to the interlocutor, to do something the speaker wants.

The general research objective is to obtain an overview of the value of struggle in a film and to find out its implications for drama learning for Grade VIII students of junior high school. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis approach, in which the researcher records carefully and carefully the data in the form of words, sentences, pictures, and videos..Researchers found 40 values of struggle in the film Memorization of Shalat Delisa and have described their implications for drama learning for class VIII students. The value of the struggle that was found the most was the value of the struggle for patience consisting of 19 data and the value of the struggle for the unyielding spirit consisting of 11 data, while the least was the value of the struggle for cooperation consisting of 5 data and the value of the struggle for mutual help consisting of 5 data. The film Memorization of the Delisa Prayer provides many descriptions of the value of struggle that can be presented as examples for students at school.

This study aims to determine: (1) the use of the PjBL model in learning to write poetry by utilizing YouTube media for students, (2) the effect of using the PjBL model in learning to write poetry by using YouTube media for students. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach in the form of writing poetry and qualitative with descriptive methods. The variables in this study are the use of YouTube media and the learning outcomes of students in learning to write poetry. The population in this study were all students of class X IPS SMA Negeri 5 Palangka Raya. The sample in this study were students of class X IPS-1 SMA Negeri 5 Palangka Raya who were obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used observation sheets of teacher and student activities as well as tests on writing poetry.

The purpose of this study is to describe the value of struggle figure main in the movie Battle of Surabaya directed by Aryanto Yuniawan. The problem explored in this research is the value of the struggle with the form of the value of the struggle which includes (1) the value of struggle willing sacrifice (2) value struggle unity (3) value struggle price-appreciate (4) value struggle abstinence give up (5) value struggle work same. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this research is an animated film entitled Battle of Surabaya directed by Aryanto Yuniawan. Data collection procedures in this study used non-participant observation techniques, documentation techniques, viewing techniques, and note-taking techniques. The results of this study indicate that the value of struggle figure main role in the film Battle of Surabaya directed by Aryanto Yuniawan with the form of values shows (a) the value of never giving up struggle in the film there are 5 forms of the value of never giving up struggle. (b) the value of struggle willing sacrifice in the film shows 3 forms of the value of struggle willing sacrifice. (c) the value of struggle Unity in the film shows 2 forms of the value of struggle union. (d) value of struggle price-appreciation in the film shows 3 forms of value struggle price-appreciate. (e) value struggle work same in the film shows 2 forms value struggle work same.

This study aims to describe the choice of language in the communication of PBSI muktiethnic students which include: (1) when doing lecture assignments, (2) during HMPS activities, (3) when chatting in the campus canteen, and (4) the implications for learning to speak in senior high school. The results of research on the choice of language in PBSI multi-technical student communication show (1) the choice of language when doing coursework is in the form of: a. Dayak Ngaju speakers and Batak speakers choose Indonesian; b. Dayak Ngaju speakers and Banjar speakers choose Indonesian and Banjar languages; c. Ma'anyan speakers and Ma'anyan speakers choose Indonesian, Ma'anyan and Banjar; d. speakers of Javanese, bMaanyan and Dayak Ngaju languages choose Indonesian and Dayak Ngaju languages; and e. speakers of Ma'anyan, Banjar and Batak languages choose Indonesian and Banjar languages. (2) the choice of language during HMPS activities is in the form of: a. speakers of Dayak Ngaju and Banjar languages choose Indonesian; b. speakers of Javanese and Batak languages prefer Indonesian and Banjar languages; c. speakers of Ma'anyan, Banjar and Dayak Ngaju languages choose Indonesian. (3) the choice of language when chatting in the campus cafeteria is in the form of: a. speakers of Dayak Ngaju and Dayak Ngaju languages choose Indonesian and Dayak Ngaju languages; b. speakers of Banjar and Dayak Ngaju languages choose Indonesian and Banjar languages; and c. speakers of Ma'anyan, Batak and Dayak Ngaju languages choose Indonesian and Banjar languages. As well as (4) the implications for learning to speak in high school, especially in K.D 4.19 which is related to material things that must be prepared before staging a drama, namely dialogue between characters..
