Abstract

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) learning is a process that involves the use of instructional media such as laptops, projectors, the internet, and other digital tools. This study aims to examine students' learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in ICT instruction. PBL emphasizes student engagement and critical thinking skills in solving assigned problems. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation and testing. The research subjects consisted of 18 ninth-grade students from SMP Swasta Darma Medan in the 2023/2024 academic year. The results showed that 13 students (72.22%) achieved mastery learning, while 5 students (27.77%) did not. These findings indicate that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model can enhance students' learning outcomes in ICT education.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance students’ critical thinking skills. The research aims to improve the critical thinking ability of students through the application of PBL in a classroom setting. A classroom action research design was employed, involving students of Grade X at SMA YAPIM Medan as the research subjects. The intervention was carried out over two cycles. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation of test results, and evaluations conducted at the end of each cycle. The findings of the study indicate that: (1) there is a significant effect of the PBL model compared to the discussion model on students’ problem-solving abilities; (2) students with high achievement motivation demonstrate significantly better critical thinking skills than those with low motivation; and (3) there is a significant interaction between the learning model, achievement motivation, and students' problem-solving abilities. It can be concluded that students taught using the PBL model exhibit superior problem-solving capabilities compared to those taught through traditional discussion methods.

Abstract

This research examines the impact of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementation on production efficiency in the electronics industry. As the electronics sector faces increasing demands for faster production cycles, higher quality standards, and cost optimization, the role of MES in streamlining production processes becomes critical. This study investigates how MES contributes to improving real-time data visibility, optimizing scheduling, enhancing quality control, and reducing downtime, all of which lead to higher production efficiency. The research also identifies the challenges associated with MES adoption, including high implementation costs, resistance to change, integration complexities, and data security concerns, while offering strategies for mitigating these issues. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis, the study highlights significant improvements in operational performance and competitive advantage post-MES adoption. The findings underscore the importance of MES as a strategic tool in the digital transformation of the electronics industry. This research contributes to the understanding of MES's role in manufacturing, offering practical insights for companies seeking to optimize their production processes and achieve sustainable growth. Additionally, the study provides a foundation for future research on MES integration with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) in manufacturing environments.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the utilization of information resources and its impact on the academic performance of students in tertiary institutions in Cross River State, Nigeria. The study will be conducted in the context of the increasing reliance on information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the education sector. The objectives of this research are: Examine the relationship between adequacy of information resources and students’ academic performance in tertiary institutions in Cross River State, examine the relationship between organization of information resources and students’ academic performance in tertiary institutions in Cross River State and examine the relationship between accessibility of information resources and students’ academic performance in tertiary institutions in Cross River State To achieve these objectives, a descriptive (quantitative) approach was employed. A survey was administered to a sample of students from various tertiary institutions in Cross River State. The survey gathered data on students' awareness and availability of information resources and their frequency of utilization for academic purposes. The data collected from the survey were analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques using descriptive statistics, such as frequencies and percentages, to determine the level of awareness, availability, and utilization of information resources. Correlation and regression analysis were employed to examine the relationship between the utilization of information resources and students' academic performance. The results of this study led to the conclusion that utilization of information resources has a strong, significant and positive relationship with students’ academic performance in tertiary institutions in Cross River State. Also, the independent variables: adequacy, organization and accessibility of information resources of the study shared a significant relationship with academic performance of students in tertiary institutions. Thus, for academic library (librarians) to continue to serve their essence in sustaining students’ academic performance, care must be taken to ensure that library resources are adequate, well organized and accessible to all students of the academic community. Based on the result of the study, the following recommendations were made: That tertiary institutions and academic libraries should set-up principles for evaluation of students’ level of utilization of information resources in order to ascertain to what extent library resources are utilized and do something about it and that academic librarians should periodically review library resources to check their level of adequacy, organization and accessibility so that their role would be significant in promoting effective utilization of information resources and academic performance of students in tertiary institutions.

Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to find out the availability of Information and Communication Technology facilities and strategies for enhancing the teaching and learning of Economics in Colleges of Education in North Central States, Nigeria. The study was guided by two purposes, two research questions and two null hypotheses. The researcher adopted a descriptive survey research design. The study was carried out in the North Central States, Nigeria. The population comprised 140 Economics Lecturers and 87) NCE III students from selected Colleges of Education in the North Central States. A stratified sampling technique was used to draw a sample size of 114 NCE III students and the 140 lecturers were retained. Observation Checklist on Available ICT Facilities for Teaching and Learning Economics and a structured questionnaire were used for data collection. The reliability of the instrument was ascertained using Cronbach Alpha and an overall reliability coefficient of .97 was ascertained. Frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used to answer research questions while an independent sampled t-test was used to test null hypotheses at a 0.05 level of significance. The Findings of this study revealed lecturers and students agreed that computer-assisted instruction, computer-aided design, performance monitoring, problem-solving, video lectures and use of individualized instruction were used to a high extent as ICT strategies for enhancing teaching and learning in the college of education. Computer-assisted instruction and computer-aided instruction have been found to be useful in teaching and learning Economics content in colleges of education especially where students are equipped with required skills. Therefore, to improve the teaching of Economics in Colleges of Education in North Central State, Nigeria, it is imperative to establish robust ICT infrastructure and upgrade existing facilities.

Abstract

Banyaknya permintaan di bidang fashion menjadikan kabupaten Tegal menjadi salah satu sentral produksi garment dengan berbagai model dan merk fashion yang ada. Penelitian ini menghasilan sebuah sistem informasi pemesanan berbasis web yang dirancang agar calon konsumen dapat memesan produk-produk garment dengan mudah tanpa harus datang ke PT. Mutiara Busana Indah dan pencatatan data pesanan kunsumen lebih efesien. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi metode wawancara, yaitu tanya jawab secara langsung terhadap sumber-sumber data yang dibutuhkan. Metode yang lain adalah kepustakaan, yaitu dengan mengumpulkan referensi-referensi yang berhubungan dengan topik penulis, yaitu PHP, website dan Sistem Pemesanan.

Abstract

Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Sarana Maju Kota Tegal merupakan lembaga pendidikan non-formal yang memberikan layanan pendidikan kesetaraan bagi masyarakat dari berbagai latar belakang. Namun, pelaksanaan administrasi ujian di PKBM ini masih dilakukan secara manual, mulai dari proses pendaftaran, penjadwalan, hingga pencetakan kartu ujian. Kondisi tersebut menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan seperti antrean panjang, jadwal ujian yang sering berbenturan dengan waktu kerja warga belajar, keterbatasan jumlah staf, serta tingginya risiko kehilangan data. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sistem ujian manual yang sedang berjalan dan merancang solusi berupa sistem informasi berbasis website untuk mendukung proses ujian secara digital. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem manual kurang efisien dan tidak fleksibel, sehingga menghambat efektivitas penyelenggaraan ujian. Melalui pendekatan digitalisasi, proses pendaftaran, penjadwalan, dan pencetakan kartu ujian dapat dilakukan secara daring, sehingga menghemat waktu dan memudahkan akses bagi warga belajar. Selain itu, sistem ini juga dapat meningkatkan akurasi data dan mengurangi beban kerja staf administrasi. Rekomendasi yang diberikan meliputi pengembangan sistem informasi berbasis web, pelatihan bagi staf, serta penerapan sistem keamanan data yang memadai. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini diharapkan mampu memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam peningkatan layanan pendidikan di PKBM Sarana Maju.

Abstract

The Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) is an essential component in higher education management to ensure sustainable educational quality. This research aims to analyze the SPMI information system currently operating at the Digital University, specifically identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in SPMI management and evaluating the effectiveness of the existing system. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, structured interviews, and literature study. Data analysis was conducted using SWOT analysis and Flow of Document (FOD) to illustrate the information flow of the running system. The research results show that the SPMI information system at Digital Technology University is still semi-digital in nature, using Microsoft Office and Google Drive for document management. The system's strengths lie in active stakeholder involvement and the implementation team's experience, but it has weaknesses in the form of low efficiency, human error risks, and inadequate documentation. Opportunities for system digitalization and human resource capacity improvement are positive factors, while external policy changes and internal resistance are the main threats. The current system is not yet digitally integrated, causing documentation and reporting processes to be inefficient and prone to errors. This research recommends the development of an integrated web-based SPMI information system and improved human resource training are essential to support the effectiveness of SPMI implementation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis sistem informasi penggajian karyawan yang diterapkan di SMK Ma’arif NU 01 Jatibarang. Sistem yang berjalan saat ini masih bersifat konvensional, dengan pemanfaatan Microsoft Excel sebagai alat bantu utama dalam pengolahan data kehadiran, tunjangan, potongan, hingga perhitungan total gaji. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses penggajian dilaksanakan, serta mengidentifikasi kelebihan, kekurangan, dan kendala dalam sistem yang digunakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui wawancara langsung kepada petugas yang terlibat dalam proses penggajian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun sistem konvensional ini sudah terbiasa digunakan dan mudah dioperasikan, terdapat sejumlah permasalahan yang cukup signifikan. Di antaranya adalah tingginya kemungkinan terjadinya kesalahan perhitungan, keterlambatan dalam proses, ketergantungan pada satu petugas, serta belum tersedianya sistem yang mampu mempercepat proses pengelolaan data. Selain itu, keamanan data juga belum terjamin karena tidak ada pembatasan akses maupun cadangan otomatis. Penelitian ini tidak berfokus pada perancangan sistem baru, melainkan pada analisis terhadap kondisi sistem yang sedang berjalan, sehingga dapat memberikan gambaran mengenai kebutuhan informasi dan arah pengembangan sistem yang lebih baik di masa mendatang. Hasil analisis ini diharapkan menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi pihak sekolah dalam meningkatkan kualitas pengelolaan penggajian karyawan.
