Abstract

The objective of the research was to find the linkages between mindfulness and social information processing theory on the use of WhatsApp group of Elementary school Principals in District Cilandak Region III for the distribution of various information and instructions. Through the concept of mindfulness and Social Information Processing theory approach (SIP), this research would explore the causes of the frequent emergence of noise, misunderstanding, and even tangency to the WA group that was carried on the meeting of headmaster meetings and relationships between members. The research problem was why WA group still causing issues among the Principals. By using the qualitative approach, data collection techniques used in this research were the interview, observation, and literature study. It is found that technological sophistication does not go parallel with maturity in communicating using media technologies. Lack of mindfulness in the WA group is a form of organizational communication that is simply transferred into the form of text communication on mobile phones that is being the main cause. Also, the organizational structure is still inherent in it and only serves as a bridge/form of interim communication because the main form of communication is still in the form of correspondence and face-to-face meetings.

Abstract

In learning a second language or foreign language (L2), learners should master the competences. Normally, L2 learners first should master the linguistic competence which includes the mastery of vocabularies, pronunciation, and grammar. The study is to find out the syntax error made by L2 learners in conversation as well as to find out the exchanging information. The data were the recording conversation of Visual Communication Design students first semester of Binus University joining English Entrant. Error analysis was used to analyze the data. There are two points of view to analyze the data: syntax from taxonomy and exchanging information. Taxonomy employs the error in omission, addition, misinformation, and mis-ordering. Exchanging information point of view employs the error in finite element and mood. The result shows that L2 learners made some errors in grammar and exchanging information because they are influenced by the L1. They tend to transfer from L1 to L2 rather than thinking to create the utterances in L2.

Abstract

Rapid business changes also trigger changes in interconnected applications. Changing multiple interrelated applications, have a level of difficulty and complexity of its own, especially if the platform and framework of these applications are not the same. One of the concepts that can help bridge the time gap problem between business change with changes in applications and platforms and frameworks to bridge the gap between applications is the implementation of "services". By using "services", interconnected applications will be able to produce more realtime information. A case study for the development of "service" is performed at the Human Resource (HR) department, which uses two different applications of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) for the frontend and use the SAP HR module as its backend. Bottom-up strategy is chosen as a strategy in developing the "service". Application of "service" is expected to help accelerate change in the development of applications and facilitate the further application, and can result in real-time information.
