Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of generated content on tourists’ intention to visit Derawan Islands by employing the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) theoretical framework. In this model, generated content, both user-generated (UGC) and firm-generated content (FGC), acts as a stimulus that affects tourists’ perceptions of information quality (perceived information quality) and destination image, which in turn influence their intention to visit. The research is motivated by the significant decline in Indonesia’s tourism sector due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which also impacted the Derawan Islands through reduced international tourist visits. In the post-pandemic context, tourist behavior and preferences have shifted considerably, with increasing demand for credible and engaging digital information. This study employs a quantitative approach to assess the relationships between these variables. The findings indicate that generated content has a significant positive effect on both perceived information quality and destination image, which serve as mediators influencing tourists’ intention to visit. These results highlight the importance of content-driven digital marketing strategies in restoring the attractiveness of tourism destinations. This research offers theoretical contributions to the development of digital tourism literature and practical insights for destination managers seeking to enhance their promotional effectiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of information technology encourages public agencies to improve the quality of services through the use of more effective digital systems. In the police environment, particularly the Community Development Unit (Satbinmas) of the Garut Police, the process of managing and reporting activities is still carried out semi-manually using Google Spreadsheets, potentially causing data duplication and hindering the recapitulation and monitoring of activities. This condition indicates the need for an information system supported by a user interface that suits the needs of field users. This study aims to design a web-based user interface for the Satbinmas Activity Management Information System of the Garut Police by applying the User-Centered Design (UCD) approach. The research method was carried out iteratively through the stages of observation, user interviews, interface design, and usability evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) involving five Satbinmas personnel. The evaluation results showed an average SUS value of 78.5 which is included in the good category, indicating that the developed interface has an adequate level of usability and is acceptable to users. This study concludes that the application of UCD is able to produce an interface design that supports the efficiency and accuracy of Satbinmas activity management, and provides a contribution in the form of a reference for the development of information system interfaces based on user needs in the regional police environment.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has brought significant changes to the world of education and has influenced the character development of students. The use of digital technology provides opportunities to improve the quality of learning, but also raises various problems, such as declining ethics, low social empathy, plagiarism, and misuse of digital media. This shows that the ability to use technology technically is not necessarily accompanied by wise and characterful attitudes. Therefore, digital literacy is a crucial aspect in addressing the impact of technological developments on students' character. This study aims to examine the role of digital literacy in shaping and strengthening students' character in the digital era. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by examining relevant scientific articles, books, and policy documents published in the period 2015–2025. Data were obtained from Google Scholar, Scopus, and ResearchGate, then analyzed qualitatively through thematic selection and synthesis. The results of the study indicate that digital literacy encompasses cognitive, social, and ethical aspects that play an important role in the development of students' character, such as honesty, responsibility, independence, and digital ethics. Furthermore, information technology has both positive and negative impacts on student character, which is heavily influenced by digital literacy levels and the role of educators and educational institutions. This study recommends integrating digital literacy into the curriculum and strengthening the role of educators so that the use of technology in education focuses not only on technological mastery but also on character development in students.

Abstract

Monitoring educational infrastructure in conflict-affected countries such as Afghanistan remains critical for understanding social transformation and guiding evidence-based policy. Indeed, rather vital. This study develops an integrated Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) framework to analyze the spatial distribution, growth, and accessibility of educational facilities in Afghanistan between 2020 and 2025. Multi-temporal satellite imagery from Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8/9 was combined with socio-economic datasets, including population density, poverty indicators, and official school records, to map schools and madrasahs, assess accessibility, and identify infrastructure scarcity hotspots (what is more, the combination yielded quite robust results). Accessibility analyses employing urban and rural buffer zones revealed significant disparities, with rural populations facing markedly limited physical access and correspondingly higher educational deprivation. Quite stark, in fact. Multi-criteria hotspot modelling further highlighted those regions where high population demand converges with poor facility quality and teacher shortages, thereby indicating critical service gaps. For that matter, these gaps persist rather stubbornly. Comparative analysis of infrastructure growth versus population expansion demonstrated, quite convincingly, that in many urban and rural areas new school construction has not fully matched demographic demand, thus revealing unmet educational needs. The study emphasises that spatially explicit, data-driven approaches are essential for equitable educational planning and for supporting social transformation in fragile contexts. The findings provide actionable insights for policymakers, international donors, and planners to prioritise interventions in underserved regions and promote inclusive educational development. Future research could usefully integrate real-time geospatial monitoring and participatory approaches to further enhance educational planning and social development strategies.
