Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the Simampu information system implementation at the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Serang Regency using the COBIT 5 framework. The information system was designed to assist BPBD in disaster data management, reporting, monitoring, and facilitating quick and accurate decision-making. However, the current implementation of Simampu was found to be suboptimal as it is still under development, and several issues were identified, such as system errors, network disruptions, and inadequate data security, hindering effective disaster data processing and reporting. The research utilized a qualitative approach involving direct observations and in-depth interviews with the system management team at BPBD Serang Regency. This study focused on four COBIT 5 domains: BAI01 (Manage Programmes and Projects), DSS02 (Manage Service Requests and Incidents), DSS03 (Manage Problems), and DSS05 (Manage Security Services). These domains were selected due to their relevance to BPBD’s operational needs and strategic objectives in disaster management. Findings revealed several weaknesses in the management of the Simampu information system, particularly concerning IT service management processes, incident handling, problem management, and information security services. To address these weaknesses, the researcher provided technical recommendations, including improvements in data security, network infrastructure enhancements, and optimization of data processing procedures.

Abstract

This study aims to design and implement a web-based employee attendance information system using the Laravel framework at PT Hesed Indonesia, with the main contribution being the integration of real-time attendance data management features, automatic reports, and centralized access rights settings that were not available in the previous system. This system was developed to replace the manual attendance method, which was prone to recording errors, data manipulation, and slowed down the reporting process. Development was carried out using the Waterfall method, which includes the stages of requirement definition, design, coding & testing, integration & system testing, and operation & maintenance. A trial was conducted on 25 employees over one month, resulting in an attendance recording accuracy rate of 98% and a 70% reduction in recapitulation time compared to the previous method. The implementation results show that the system can improve efficiency and ease of data access, although it still has limitations such as the lack of integration with fingerprint devices or payroll systems. In the future, this system can be developed with attendance notification features, IoT integration for automatic attendance, and attendance data analysis to support managerial decisions.

Abstract

Administrative services in Sei Bamban Village are still performed manually, resulting in frequent delays in document verification and archiving and the risk of data loss. The purpose of this research is to use the Unified Approach (UA) approach, which includes the Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) stages, to design and build a Web-Based Village Administrative Service Information System to address these issues. The developed system's main features include online letter submission, digital verification by village officials, and a centralized digital archive that stores all service-generated documents electronically. This system accelerates letter verification and streamlines, while document storage becomes more secure and easily accessible. Test results indicate that all system functions function well according to user requirements. This research is expected to support increased efficiency and security of administrative services at the village level through the implementation of integrated information technology.

Abstract

In the digital era, property sales face significant challenges such as lengthy processes, involvement of multiple intermediaries, and lack of ownership transparency. This study aims to create a prototype property transaction system that utilizes blockchain technology, integrated with smart contracts, a Node.js backend, and a MySQL database. The system is simulated with Ganache as a local network to test the decentralized and secure data storage of transactions. The research methods include simulation and direct observation, as well as functional testing and performance evaluation using a black box testing approach to ensure the reliability and efficiency of each system component. Test results show a functional success rate of 100% from 14 test scenarios. Based on these findings, the system has been proven to validly record transactions, avoid double transactions, and maintain data integrity. Smart contract technology can partly replace notary functions digitally, while blockchain serves as a means of secure and immutable transaction storage. Therefore, this system can enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in property transaction processes and make a significant contribution to the digitalization of the real estate sector.

Abstract

Public satisfaction assessment of legal services is an important indicator for improving the quality of public service. The Tapaktuan District Attorney’s Office requires a system that can measure public satisfaction objectively and systematically. This study aims to design and develop an information system for evaluating legal service satisfaction using the Rating Scale and Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) methods. The rating scale is used to assign scores to five criteria: service speed, service friendliness, staff competency, report handling process, and facility comfort. The assessment results are then analyzed using MAUT to obtain overall satisfaction rankings. The system is developed as a web-based application for easy access by staff and the public. Respondent samples are selected proportionally and representatively, including the general public, complainants/defendants, witnesses, lawyers, and employees who have received legal services, using accidental sampling during the survey period, with 30 respondents to ensure data representativeness. From five criteria, three alternatives, and 30 respondent samples, the final score obtained is 4.51, indicating a “very satisfied” level for Case Reporting Services. This system is expected to assist the Tapaktuan District Attorney’s Office in evaluating and improving the quality of legal services consistently.

Abstract

This study designs and implements a web-based car rental information system prototype to overcome manual process inefficiencies at the case-study company. Development followed Agile Scrum across several sprints that delivered core features: authentication, online booking, real-time vehicle management, transaction handling, and an integrated payment gateway. The technology stack comprises Laravel, MySQL, and XAMPP in a test environment. An early-stage evaluation was conducted in the partner’s operational setting using black-box testing per use-case scenario, along with measurements of process performance, data-recording accuracy, and user satisfaction. Results show transaction time decreased from 20–30 minutes to 5–10 minutes, recording errors dropped from approximately 10% to <1%, 85% of respondents reported satisfaction with booking convenience, and 90% considered the integrated payment helpful. These findings indicate that the prototype effectively improves operational efficiency and service quality, while underscoring the relevance of Agile practices for dynamic rental business needs. Future work includes standardized usability testing, load testing, and a more comprehensive security assessment.

Abstract

The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices within digital ecosystems has enhanced efficiency and availability but has also expanded the attack surface for cyber threats. This study aims to improve intrusion detection accuracy in IoT environments by addressing two key challenges: class imbalance and high feature dimensionality. Random Undersampling (RUS) is employed to mitigate data imbalance in the CIC IoT 2023 dataset, while feature selection is performed using the filter-based Information Gain method. A decision tree classifier is implemented and validated using k-fold cross-validation to ensure result reliability. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves an accuracy of 88.7%, outperforming a wrapper-based method, which attained 87.3%. These findings confirm that an appropriately designed filter-based feature selection strategy can effectively enhance the performance of intrusion detection systems for IoT security.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aimed to design and evaluate a web-based Health Information System to improve data accuracy and service quality at Phana Hospital, Amnat Charoen. Methodology: A research and development design with a mixed-method sequential approach was employed. The system was developed using a structured SDLC framework and implemented over a three-month pilot period. Data accuracy was assessed through medical record audits (n=1,250), usability was measured using the System Usability Scale (n=35 staff), and service quality was evaluated using a modified SERVQUAL questionnaire (n=120 patients). Statistical analysis included paired t-tests to compare pre- and post-implementation outcomes. Main Findings: Incomplete records decreased from 21.0% to 11.8%, duplication errors declined from 10.7% to 4.9%, and average documentation time was reduced from 14.2 to 10.6 minutes (p < 0.001). Service quality improved significantly across all five dimensions, with reliability increasing by +0.67 and responsiveness by +0.69 points. The system achieved a SUS score of 78.4, indicating good usability. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces an integrative framework linking workflow-based system design, embedded real-time validation mechanisms, and service quality performance evaluation within a district-level hospital context, providing a scalable and context-sensitive digital transformation model.

Abstract

Forest and land fires frequently occur in Indonesian tropical peatlands due to prolonged dry periods. Although the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) routinely disseminates consecutive dry day (HTH) information, its effectiveness in supporting forest and land fire prevention has received limited attention. This study evaluated the relationship between HTH and hotspot occurrence and assessed the effectiveness of HTH information dissemination using an explanatory sequential mixed-methods approach. Pearson correlation analysis was applied to HTH and hotspot data collected during 2023-2024, while stakeholder perceptions were evaluated through questionnaires involving 43 respondents and supported by semi-structured interviews. The results revealed a positive relationship between HTH and hotspot occurrence, with a stronger correlation during the 2023 El Niño period than in 2024. Stakeholders showed a very high perception of HTH information dissemination, with an overall mean score of 4.239 and excellent questionnaire reliability (Cronbach's α = 0.9862). However, qualitative findings indicated that institutional coordination and differences in technical understanding affected the operational use of HTH information. These findings demonstrate that effective forest and land fire early warning systems require not only reliable climate indicators but also effective dissemination and institutional coordination to support timely mitigation. Overall, this study demonstrates that HTH-based consecutive dry day information dissemination constitutes an integral component of a science-based Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Disaster Management strategy, bridging meteorological monitoring with multi-stakeholder preventive action in tropical peatland fire-prone regions.

Abstract

Listening is an essential skill in English language learning, yet many EFL learners experience difficulties in understanding spoken English and identifying specific information. This study aimed to investigate the use of short video clips in improving students’ listening skills in identifying specific information at STKIP Muhammadiyah Aceh Barat Daya. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test control group design. The participants consisted of 30 students from the sixth and eighth semesters of the English Education Department, who were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received listening instruction using four short video clips, while the control group received conventional listening instruction. Data were collected through a 20-item multiple-choice listening comprehension test and analyzed using descriptive statistics and independent-samples t-tests. The results showed that the mean score of the experimental group increased from 44.33 in the pre-test to 73.33 in the post-test, while the control group increased from 26.67 to 52.33. The independent-samples t-test showed a significance value of 0.000, which was lower than 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference between the post-test scores of the two groups. Therefore, the findings demonstrate that the use of short video clips significantly improved students’ listening skills in identifying specific information. The study suggests that short video clips can serve as an effective and engaging audiovisual medium for supporting listening instruction in EFL classrooms.
