Abstract

Higher education in the modern era faces challenges along with the rapid development of technology. Educational institutions such as Politeknikik Ganesha Guru need to manage prospect data efficiently to remain relevant and competitive. Unstructured prospect data management is a major obstacle, with data scattered across multiple formats such as physical documents and spreadsheets, leading to duplication, inconsistency, as well as inaccurate data analysis. In addition, tracking the history of lead interactions, such as interest and required follow-ups, was difficult without a structured system, affecting personalization and follow-up effectiveness. Manual management also makes it difficult to access and update data in real-time, hampering the marketing team especially when off-campus. On the other hand, limitations in data analysis slow down the evaluation of marketing performance. The utilization of a web-based information system is expected to be an effective solution, as it can integrate data centrally, improve accessibility, and allow for more accurate analysis. With this solution, Politeknik Ganesha Guru can be more competitive in attracting potential students and improving educational services.

Abstract

The transition of the literacy landscape from print sources to digital platforms creates new vulnerabilities in Islamic higher education, where uncurated internet access increases students' exposure to digital radicalism. This study aims to examine these vulnerabilities and formulate the integration of the Islamic information literacy curriculum as an institutional strategy to counter digital radicalism in State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN). Using a qualitative multiple-case study design at UIN Sunan Kalijaga and UIN SATU Tulungagung, this study draws on in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis as its main data sources. The findings show that students increasingly depend on algorithm-driven platforms to access Islamic literature. Without critical reasoning and adequate source verification, this dependence encourages identity-based validation and draws students into dogmatic echo chambers. Current academic library interventions still focus mainly on technical procedures, such as user education and database access, and do not yet address the critical evaluation of ideological content. In response to this gap, this study proposes an Islamic information literacy curriculum integration model as a systemic institutional strategy. The model transforms information literacy from a technical search skill into an academic curriculum component that strengthens critical reasoning, religious moderation, and digital resilience. Three pillars support its implementation: the codification of Islamic information literacy standards that fit Islamic scholarship, pedagogical collaboration between lecturers and librarians in designing research-based assignments, and continuous curriculum evaluation to maintain instructional quality and sustainability. This study contributes to Islamic higher education management by positioning curriculum integration as a preventive strategy against digital radicalism.

Abstract

Academic information systems are now central to university administration, but their contribution to academic quality depends on more than technical performance. Drawing on the DeLone and McLean Information Systems Success Model, this study examined how System Quality and Information Quality were associated with Academic Quality Acceleration. Survey data were obtained from 296 undergraduate students, lecturers, and administrative staff at the Faculty of Tarbiyah, Universitas KH. Abdul Chalim Mojokerto and analyzed through multiple linear regression in SPSS. The model was statistically significant, F (2, 293) = 201.545, p < .001, and explained 57.6% of the variance in Academic Quality Acceleration. Information Quality was a strong positive predictor (β = .821, p < .001), whereas System Quality did not make a significant unique contribution after their shared variance was considered (β = -.090, p = .090). The findings suggest that users experience academic benefits most clearly when the information delivered by the system is accurate, timely, complete, and accessible. Universities should therefore connect investment in technical infrastructure with sustained improvements in data quality and user evaluation. Because the study was conducted in a single faculty and relied on self-reported perceptions, broader multisite research using objective indicators is needed.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of social media on global political stability by investigating how digital platforms shape political participation, information dissemination, public trust in political institutions, and political polarization within contemporary political systems. The rapid expansion of social media has transformed political communication by increasing citizens' access to information and facilitating civic engagement, while simultaneously creating challenges associated with misinformation, disinformation, ideological polarization, and declining institutional trust. Employing a quantitative research approach with a cross-sectional survey design and a cross-national comparative framework, data were collected from active social media users through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that social media exerts both positive and negative influences on political stability. On the positive side, social media promotes political participation, enhances governmental transparency, and strengthens democratic engagement through improved communication and information accessibility. Conversely, the widespread dissemination of misinformation, the formation of online echo chambers, and increasing political polarization weaken public trust in political institutions and contribute to political instability. These findings suggest that the overall impact of social media depends on contextual factors such as digital literacy, platform governance, regulatory effectiveness, and institutional resilience. This research contributes to the literature on digital political communication by integrating multiple theoretical perspectives into a comprehensive framework and provides practical implications for policymakers, election authorities, technology companies, and civil society organizations in developing strategies to strengthen democratic resilience and promote sustainable political stability in the digital era.

Abstract

Background: Higher education institutions face increasing pressure to disseminate academic information efficiently to academic communities dominated by digital-native generations. Traditional communication channels such as notice boards, institutional emails, and printed announcements are often considered slow, limited in reach, and less aligned with contemporary communication habits. Objective: This study aims to analyze the level of adoption and preference for using social media as a source of academic information, evaluate the effectiveness of platforms such as Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook in enhancing reach and delivery speed, and identify key challenges related to credibility, interaction management, and the risk of misinformation. Methods: A quantitative approach was employed through a survey involving 450 respondents representing students, lecturers, and administrative staff at University X. The survey was complemented by a six-month content analysis of the institution’s official social media accounts (January–June 2024). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple regression. Results: Findings indicate that 88% of students and 72% of lecturers/staff rely on social media as their primary source of academic information. Average monthly reach on social media was significantly higher than the open rate of academic emails. Regression results reveal a significant positive correlation between posting frequency and perceived communication effectiveness. Conclusion: In conclusion, social media is an exceptionally effective tool for fast and wide academic communication. However, the study emphasizes that integrated governance linking social media with formal communication channels such as institutional websites is essential for ensuring information credibility and minimizing misinformation risks.

Abstract

Librarians, as information specialists, play a vital role in managing and providing access to digital libraries. Despite the availability of digital information through repositories and digital libraries, a gap remains between users and their effective utilization. This underscores the importance of librarians in facilitating access and supporting users. This study analyzes the role, competencies, and challenges faced by librarians at the UPA Library of the University of Bengkulu in the digital knowledge ecosystem. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through semi-structured interviews with four librarians and two users, direct observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that librarians act as information specialists by providing access through the OPAC system, repositories, digital libraries, e-journals, Springer Digital References, Instagram, and the library website. They evaluate and ensure credible digital information sources, preserve and back up collections, and assist users in information searches. However, librarians face challenges such as budget constraints, low user awareness, limited human resources, network issues, restricted access, and inadequate collections. These findings contribute to understanding the role of librarians as information specialists.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines whether work motivation, entrepreneurial orientation, and information technology (IT) utilization are associated with the performance of Republic of Indonesia Employee Cooperatives (Koperasi Pegawai Republik Indonesia, KPRI) in Bangkalan Regency. Design/methodology/approach – A quantitative, cross-sectional explanatory survey was conducted in May 2025. Questionnaire responses were obtained from 106 KPRI administrators representing 36 cooperatives and analyzed using descriptive statistics, item-total correlations, Cronbach's alpha, diagnostic tests, and multiple linear regression. Finding/Results – The regression model was statistically significant, F(3, 102) = 18.551, p < .001, and explained 35.3% of the variance in cooperative performance (adjusted R² = .334). Work motivation had a positive unique association with performance (B = .341, beta = .286, p = .009). Entrepreneurial orientation (B = .151, beta = .218, p = .055) and IT utilization (B = .151, beta = .187, p = .072) were positive but did not reach the conventional .05 threshold after adjustment for the other predictors. Originality/Value – By testing motivational, entrepreneurial, and digital factors in a single model within Indonesian employee cooperatives, the study shows that collectively relevant capabilities do not necessarily make equally strong unique statistical contributions. The findings refine performance priorities for locally embedded cooperatives and caution against interpreting digital adoption or entrepreneurial orientation as automatic performance gains.

Abstract

Lapor Semar Solusi AWP is a digital public service managed by the Semarang City Communication, Informatics, Statistics, and Persandian Office (DISKOMINFO). This platform handles public reports regarding infrastructure and government services, while also serving as a hub for citizens to voice their aspirations for the city's development. Before the current Mayor, Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti, took office, the service operated under various names, including Sapa Mbak Ita and Lapor Hendi. Since rebranding to Lapor Semar Solusi AWP in April 2025, the platform has seen lower user engagement and public awareness levels compared to its previous iterations. To address these challenges, a government public relations approach was implemented using a combination of public service and education campaigns, media relations, paid advertisements, and owned media. The primary objectives of this strategy are to boost public knowledge and strengthen community trust, which are essential for increasing the service's user base. The implementation revealed that paid advertisements were the most effective method for expanding reach and increasing general awareness among Semarang residents. On the other hand, public service and education campaigns proved to be the most successful in building public trust and driving the acquisition of new service users.
