Abstract

Abstract: Selecting appropriate vocational training fields for prospective workers at Job Training Centers (BLK) is critical for optimizing skill development and ensuring job market alignment. However, manual selection processes and high-dimensional datasets containing irrelevant candidate attributes often lead to classification inaccuracies and computational noise. This study proposes an optimized classification model combining the Information Gain (IG) feature selection method with the Random Forest algorithm to enhance prediction accuracy for training field suitability. Using a dataset of 233 candidate records, feature weighting was executed via Information Gain to eliminate redundant demographic attributes. The feature selection identified four dominant predictors: Academic Potential Test (TPA) score, interview score, vocational skill score, and BLK training choice. Experimental evaluation was conducted using a 70:30 train-test split in RapidMiner Studio. The experimental results demonstrate that applying Information Gain reduced the feature space from nine to four attributes, increasing classification accuracy from 87.14% (baseline Random Forest) to 90.00% (+2.86%). Furthermore, the model achieved a notable precision enhancement, rising from 86.96% to 93.44% (+6.48%), and an improved F1-Score of 94.21%. These findings confirm that removing non-contributing demographic variables mitigates dataset noise and enables Random Forest to form more effective decision boundaries. The optimized model offers a robust, objective framework to support decision-making systems in candidate placement at vocational training institutions. Keywords: Information Gain, Random Forest, Feature Selection, Training Field Classification, RapidMiner. Abstract

This study examines how the integration of Internal Audit and Accounting Information System (AIS) is perceived by organizational actors to support financial risk control in construction projects, using PT MM as an illustrative case. The study was motivated by observations that internal audit at PT MM has traditionally concentrated on the final project stage, while AIS has not been fully utilized as a real-time monitoring and risk-control tool, which informants associated with delayed identification of financial irregularities and heightened exposure to cost overruns, project delays, and cash flow disruptions. This qualitative case study, informed by an interpretive perspective, collected data from seven informants (two internal auditors, two project leaders, two finance staff, and one risk manager) selected through purposive sampling, via an open-ended written questionnaire, non-participant observation, and document review, analyzed using Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis. The findings suggest that, from informants' perspective, Internal Audit and AIS integration is associated with more active project monitoring, earlier attention to financial risks, faster corrective recommendations, and greater perceived transparency and accountability in project financial management, although several implementation challenges emerged, including delayed data updates, inconsistent data entry, inconsistent interdepartmental coordination, and incomplete continuous auditing. The study concludes that, within this single case, Internal Audit and AIS integration appears to strengthen the conditions for financial risk control when supported by integrated information systems, effective cross-functional collaboration, and sustained use of financial information; further research should test whether these perceived mechanisms yield measurable reductions in project financial risk.

Abstract

This study employed a qualitative descriptive design to examine how the security of off-site medical record storage protects patient information confidentiality, particularly when records are stored outside the hospital because of limited filing-space capacity. Three informants were purposively selected: the Head of the Medical Records Unit, a Medical Records Filing Officer, and a Medical Records Archiving Officer. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman framework, including data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings showed that the off-site medical record storage system had implemented several security measures, including restricted access to the storage area and the provision of portable fire extinguishers. However, several deficiencies remained. Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) was not available, room temperature and humidity monitoring devices were absent, and the number of storage racks was inadequate. These conditions indicate that storage security has not yet been optimized. Therefore, improvements in supporting security facilities are required to protect physical medical records and maintain the confidentiality of patient information.

Abstract

Purpose – Administrative services in villages are essential to support public service activities for the community. However, administrative services in Bantargadung Village are still conducted manually, resulting in several problems such as slow service processes, difficulties in managing administrative data, and limited access to information for the community. Previous studies mostly focused on system development and service functionality, while limited studies specifically discussed UI design that involves both service providers and service users throughout the design process and translates user needs into interface design decisions. Therefore, this study aims to design a User Interface (UI) for a village administrative service information system using the Design Thinking approach based on user needs. Methods – This study applied the Design Thinking approach through five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing. Data were collected through observation and semi-structured interviews involving village officials and community members to identify user needs and service problems. The UI prototype was developed using Figma and evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS) involving 10 respondents consisting of village officials and community members. Findings – The usability evaluation obtained an average SUS score of 84, which falls within the Acceptable range, receives a Grade A rating, and is categorized as Excellent based on the SUS interpretation framework. The developed UI design demonstrated a good level of usability based on the initial evaluation conducted with village officials and community members. These findings provide preliminary evidence that the proposed UI design has the potential to support digital-based administrative services in village environments. Research implications – This study is limited to the UI prototype development stage and has not yet reached full system implementation. In addition, the usability evaluation involved a limited number of respondents within one village environment, which may affect the generalization of the findings. Therefore, broader testing and further system implementation are needed in future studies. Originality – This study emphasizes the design of a village administrative service UI by involving both village officials and community members from the user needs identification stage through usability evaluation. The study also demonstrates how user needs are translated into system features, user flows, wireframes, and interface designs using the Design Thinking approach.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines post-adoption information-system suc-cess in the mandatory implementation of Indonesia’s Village Financial System (SISKEUDES), assessing whether human, organizational, and tech-nological conditions remain associated with System Use, User Satisfaction, and perceived Net Benefits after implementation becomes institutionally required. Methods – A cross-sectional survey of 329 village governments in Central Sulawesi was analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with a disjoint two-stage reflective–formative hierar-chical component model. Bootstrapping, specific indirect effects, PLSpre-dict, and sensitivity analyses were used to assess the proposed relation-ships and their robustness.Findings – Technology Factors showed the strongest association with System Use (β=.558), followed by Human Factors (β=.308), whereas Or-ganizational Factors were nonsignificant (β=.039). Technology Factors (β=.521) and System Use (β=.428) were positively associated with User Satisfaction. User Satisfaction (β=.725) and System Use (β=.212) were as-sociated with Net Benefits. Significant sequential statistical associations linked Human and Technology Factors to Net Benefits through System Use and User Satisfaction. Sensitivity analyses showed comparatively stable upstream and use–satisfaction relationships, whereas the System Use–Net Benefits relationship was component-sensitive.Research implications – The cross-sectional, single-informant design, partial discriminant validity, downstream specification sensitivity, and nonprobability sampling constrain causal inference and statistical general-ization.Originality – The study advances the Beyond Mandatory Adoption per-spective by showing that mandatory implementation establishes institu-tional compliance but does not ensure uniform information-system suc-cess. Socio-technical heterogeneity persists after implementation becomes mandatory, although downstream relationships remain empirically quali-fied.

Abstract

Abstract

PT. Bhakti Karya Cemerlang is an enterprise specializing in providing outsourcing services. As of July 2017, the company managed approximately 700 outsourced employees. The management of personnel data, partner contracts, and payroll calculations currently relies on Microsoft Office, which often results in operational inefficiencies, slow reporting, and high vulnerability to errors during employee evaluations. To mitigate these issues, this study develops a payroll information system utilizing the Zachman Framework. The framework systematically maps the enterprise architecture across four key perspectives: Planner, Owner/Analyst, Designer, and Builder. The final deliverable of this research is a web-based payroll system prototype. System testing was conducted using Black-Box testing with 68 test cases, yielding a 100% validity rate. Compatibility testing via SortSite software identified two critical issues, specifically due to the inactivation of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) during the test environment. Evaluation of the enterprise architecture using the Enterprise Architecture (EA) Scorecard showed a success rate of 77.60%, validating the model's structure.
