Abstract

Current trend in health-care industry is to shift its data on the cloud, to increase availability of Electronic Health Records (EHR) e.g. Patient’s medical history in real time, which will allow sharing of EHR with ease. However, this conventional cloud-based data sharing environment has data security and privacy issues. This paper proposes a distributed solution based on blockchain technology for trusted Health Information Exchange (HIE). In addition to exchange of EHR between patient and doctor, the proposed system is also used in other aspects of healthcare such as improving the insurance claim and making data available for research organizations. Medical data is very sensitive, in both social as well as legal aspects, so permissioned block-chain such as Hyperledger Fabric is used to retain the necessary privacy required in the proposed system. As, this is highly permissioned network where the owner of the network i.e. patient holds all the access rights, so in case of emergency situations the proposed system has a Backup Access System which will allow healthcare professionals to access partial EHR and this backup access is provided by using wearable IOT device.

Abstract

Using location-based augmented reality (AR) for pedestrian navigation can greatly improve user action to reduce the travel time. Pedestrian navigation differs in many ways from the conventional navigation system used in a car or other vehicles. A major issue with using location-based AR for navigation to a specific landmark is their quality of usability, especially if the active screen is overcrowded with the augmented POI markers which were overlap each other at the same time. This paper describes the user journey map approach that led to new insights about how users were using location-based AR for navigation. These insights led to a deep understanding of challenges that user must face when using location-based AR application for pedestrian navigation purpose, and more generally, they helped the development team to appreciate the variety of user experience in software requirement specification phase. To prove our concept, a prototype of intuitive location-based AR was built to be compared with existing standard-location based AR. The user evaluation results reveal that the overall functional requirements which are gathered from user journey have same level of success rate criteria when compared with standard location-based AR. Nevertheless, the field study participants highlighted the extended features in our prototype could significantly enhance the user action on locating the right object in particular place when compared with standard location-based AR application (proved with the required time).

Abstract

A novel human STR (Short Tandem Repeat) similarity method using cascade statistical fuzzy rules with tribal information inference is proposed. The proposed method consists of two cascade Fuzzy Inference Systems (FIS). The first FIS is to discriminate the tribal similarity, and the second FIS is to calculate the STR similarity. By using the allele marker’s statistical distribution probability density function as the membership function in the Fuzzy Rules of the first FIS, the new method makes it possible to tell the tribal similarity between two STR profiles. A 727 data acquired from tribal groups of Indonesia is used to examine the method produced promising result, being able to indicate higher tribal similarity score within a tribal group and lower similarity between tribal groups. In the light of Indonesia’s diverse tribal groups, these properties are able to be leveraged as a new way to improve the versatility of existing DNA matching algorithm.

Abstract

Information system success (ISS) has received considerable attention from researchers as it plays an important role in improving the efficiency and productivity of an organization. Several researchers have conducted empirical studies using numerous factors (e.g. organizational, technological, and individual factors) which affect the information system success. However, there are several factors which are related to interpersonal conflict which may affect information system success. The interpersonal conflict is a critical dimension which can greatly influence information system success in a competitive environment such as the financial sector. Therefore, this study introduces a framework to investigate the influence of interpersonal conflict factors on information system success in the Ministry of Finance, Yemen. The study employed a quantitative method which consists of the following steps: survey design, data collection and data analysis. A sample size comprising 130 employees were distributed in the Ministry of Finance, Yemen. Questionnaires were used to collect data from this sample. Data analysis (reliability, validity, correlation and factor analysis) has been carried out using SPSS.  In addition, structural equation modelling (SEM) has been used for evaluation the research model. Based on the experimental results, the findings in this study revealed that the interpersonal factors (interference, disagreement and instability) significantly negatively (at 0.05 level of significance) influence user satisfaction of information system success.

Abstract

The output of research in the form of a proceeding published through a national seminar or an international conference has become a routine activity performed by lecturers as a researcher. The escalating atmosphere of disseminating the results of a study is directly proportional to the increasing number of universities, associations, or non-educational institutions organizing either a national seminar or an international conference. Each seminar organizer posts their seminar relevant information through official sites released by each organizer. However, to date, there has never been storage that can compile all the information pertinent to all national seminars held in Indonesia. This situation has resulted in the search done by search engines such as Google, Yahoo Search, Bing and others have not been efficient nor effective. Design of a web-based national seminar alert system is built to address this issue. This information system can display all the seminars held in Indonesia in the current year in storage and can be broken down based on the choices of topic, location, and date. Other additional facilities are that the application can send email messages to the application users as an early warning on the upcoming national seminar. Researchers can track each existing national seminar and always up-to-date on the most current national seminar.

Abstract

Recently, people's interest in health is deepening. So health-related systems are being developed. Existing exercise management systems provided users with exercise related information using PC or smart phone. However, there is a problem that the accuracy of the algorithm for analyzing the user's body information and providing information is low.In this paper, we analyze users' body mass index (BMI) and basal metabolic rate (BMR) and we propose a system that provides the user with necessary information through recommendation algorithm. It informs the user of exercise intensity and momentum, and graphs the exercise history of the user. It also allows the user to refer to the fitness history of other users in the same BMI group. This allows the user to receive more personalized services than the existing exercise management system, thereby enabling efficient exercise.

Abstract

To reduce the detection failure of the exchanging signal power onto the OFDM subcarrier signal at uniform quantization, dynamic subcarrier mapping is applied. Moreover, to addressing low SNR’s wall-less than pre-determine threshold, non-uniform quantization or adaptive quantization for the signal quantization size parameter is proposed. μ-law is adopted for adaptive quantization subcarrier mapping which is deployed in mobility environment, such as Doppler Effect and Rayleigh Fading propagation. In this works, sensing node received signal power then sampled into a different polarity positive and negative in μ-law quantization and divided into several segmentation levels. Each segmentation levels are divided into several sub-segment has representing one tone signal subcarrier number OFDM which has the number of quantization level and the width power. The results show that by using both methods, a significant difference is obtained around 8 dB compared to those not using the adaptive method.

Abstract

The lack of  identify services mechanism which is related to the development of information systems could be impact in wasting time, over budget and can not adapt to the changing environment. This phenomenon is happened by the belief that lack of capturing user requirement. This is due to consider the business environment is always running normally. In fact, the development of the system needs a way to anticipate the business environment that unpredictable changes. Therefore, the phenomenon on the need for modeling services can able to respond to the changing needs of users still have a chancein this study. It explores modeling services to synergize SOA and BPM.Several previous studies generally use a business driven approach, technical partially driven to develop the service modeling. This leads to the question of how a service should be modeled so that it can be applied in different contexts and business processes also. It is support user needs in diversity and heterogeneous system environments. This Conditions occurs in corporate university. The case studies in this research is a Learning Management System (LMS) in Academic Enterprise System (EAS). The research stages are: (1) Analysis of Synergy in SOA and BPM, (2) Analysis of User Experience in LMS Academic Enterprise System (L-EAS), (3) Analysis of Modeling Framework, (4) Proposed Framework that aligning SOA and BPM. The result of this study is proposed system framework based on services to increase the flexibility of information systems at LMS Academic Enterprise System (L-EAS).

Abstract

Information credibility in social media is becoming the most important part of information sharing in the society. The literatures have shown that there is no labeling information credibility based on user competencies and their posted topics. This study increases the information credibility by adding new 17 features for Twitter and 49 features for Facebook. In the first step, we perform a labeling process based on user competencies and their posted topic to classify the users into two groups, credible and not credible users, regarding their posted topics. These approaches are evaluated over ten thousand samples of real-field data obtained from Twitter and Facebook networks using classification of Naive Bayes (NB), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Logistic Regression (Logit) and J48 algorithm (J48). With the proposed new features, the credibility of information provided in social media is increasing significantly indicated by better accuracy compared to the existing technique for all classifiers.

Abstract

In this paper, we suggest a method of detecting defects by applying Hough transform and least squares on ceramic images obtained from non-destructive testing. In the ceramic images obtained from non-destructive testing, the background area, where the defect does not exist, commonly shows gradual change of luminosity in vertical direction. In order to extract the background area which is going to be used in the detection of defects, Hough transform is performed to rotate the ceramic image in a way that the direction of overall luminosity change lies in the vertical direction as much as possible. Least squares is then applied on the rotated image to approximate the contrast value of the background area. The extracted background area is used for extracting defects from the ceramic images. In this paper we applied this method on ceramic images acquired from non-destructive testing. It was confirmed that extracted background area could be effectively applied for searching the section where the defect exists and detecting the defect.
