Abstract

In this paper, the definition of information and data are presented with examples illustrating the differences between them. To articulate the value of information, the definition of quantities of information, based on information theory, generally considered to be founded by Claude Shannon, has been quoted. In addition, with corresponding mathematical derivations, specific examples are employed to manifest the factors that make information valuable. Abstract

We introduce a comparison study for the performance of a lens-based   free space optical interconnects system assuming Bessel Beams and Gaussian Beams as information carriers.  The optical field at the detector plane was derived for the two beam profiles. In both cases the expressions for the output optical filed are expressed in terms of complex Gaussian functions. The performance of the system for the two beams is evaluated and compared. Using simulation results we show that the use of Bessel beam gives superior results to that of using Gaussian beam for large interconnects distance.

Abstract

Generally, The sending process of secret information via the transmission channel or any carrier medium is not secured. For this reason, the techniques of information hiding are needed. Therefore, steganography must take place before transmission. To embed a secret message at optimal positions of the cover image under spatial domain, using the developed particle swarm optimization algorithm (Dev.-PSO) to do that purpose in this paper based on Least Significant Bits (LSB) using LSB substitution. The main aim of (Dev. -PSO) algorithm is determining an optimal paths to reach a required goals in the specified search space based on disposal of them, using (Dev.-PSO) algorithm produces the paths of a required goals with most efficient and speed. An agents population is used in determining process of a required goals at search space for solving of problem. The (Dev.-PSO) algorithm is applied to different images; the number of an image which used in the experiments in this paper is three. For all used images, the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) value is computed. Finally, the PSNR value of the stego-A that obtained from blue sub-band colo is equal (44.87) dB, while the stego-B is equal (44.45) dB, and the PSNR value for the stego-C is (43.97)dB, while the vlue of MSE that obtained from the same color sub-bans is (0.00989), stego-B equal to (0.01869), and stego-C is (0.02041). Furthermore, our proposed method has ability to survive the quality for the stego image befor and after hiding stage or under intended attack that used in the existing paper such as Gaussian noise, and salt & pepper noise.

Abstract

The consequence of disproportionate distribution and placement of Doctor in Indonesia is affecting people who live in rural area. Patient have to travel to city to receive medical treatment and must encounter another different problem such as: patients often have to wait a long time in the doctor's office even sometimes do not get the service because of holiday or rejected because the queue is full. Medical record in some cases may lost due in Indonesia mostly medical record recorded manually (paper based). Therefore doctor treatment is not optimal because doctor can no longer inspect patient illness history and any treatment that have been conducted before. This research proposes a new concept to help people who live in rural area to get better medical treatment. People could register and monitor doctor service queue via smart phone. System expanded with medical record management facilities to improve service quality of patient. Research object was doctor service in Sulawesi, Indonesia. This research indicates system could increase time efficiency, energy, and cost efficiency for patient and also the doctor. Additionally current system will be optimal if supported with stable internet network.

Abstract

As such internet and information technology have influenced the human life significantly thus the current technology cannot solely assure the security of shared information. Hence, to fulfil such requirements mass amount of research have been undertaken by various researchers among which one of the mechanisms is the use of dynamic key rather than static one. In this regard, we have proposed a method of key generation to provide the dynamic keys. The scheme not only can change the key but also provide the error control mechanism. At the end of this paper, a comparison with the existing techniques has also been made to prove the efficiency of the proposed scheme.

Abstract

The Act Number 19 of 2016 concerning the amendment of The Act Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transaction governing the authority of government in clearing hateful and hostilities electronic information based on tribe, religion, race and intergroup. On the one hand, the government authority aims to protect the public interest and the integrity of the nation, but on the other hand, termination of access to information would restrict the right to freedom of opinion and the right to privacy of Internet users. This study was a normative legal research, which examined the basic authority for the government to shut down negative content in cyberspace. Legal materials were collected through library research. The analysis was conducted qualitatively. This study examined three issues, namely; spreading hatred and hostility in cyberspace, legality government to close the spreading hatred and hostility and electronic evidence in spreading hatred and hostility. Spreading hatred and hostility were criminal acts that used the Internet as facilities. Internet was used by extremists to disseminate his teachings, even being used to commit acts of terrorism (cyber terrorism). In maintaining the unity and integrity, then the government had the authority to shut down access to the unlawful electronic system. The closure should be accompanied by proof of electronic information that contains hatred and hostility based on tribe, religion, race and intergroup

Abstract

Bus Route Planner applications will unfold their full potential when bus passengers are enabled to get information about the shortest path route, make a travel plan and get the correct buses in order to reduce the travel time. However, all these information are provided in text based and map view. It is difficult to understand them for the person who does not know place in the map. This paper describes the android base application of Augmented Reality (AR) that has feature to support the action of a bus user in an innovative and dynamic ways by putting additional information layer on smart phone camera screen and give the instruction assistant that leading the user way to the nearest bus stop. The experimental results show that, the overall functional of proposed application can be run well in various type of Android smart phone. When compared with similar bus traveling applications, the proposed application works more efficient.

Abstract

In everyday life, there are situations where the only way to communicate are emotions. EMOTICONS are the epitome of the same. This aspect of communication can also be used in emergency situations (terrorist attacks, hijacks) where the only way to communicate is by performing some extraordinary actions or through some emotions. Incorporating technology to the above mentioned circumstances the paper proposes a novel framework of detecting an emergency situation by retrieving information from emotions and eye blinks using sensor nodes. The proposed framework can be deployed in places (hotels, banks, airports etc.) which are more suspected to attacks. The framework takes input from real time parameters: eye blinks, emotions, heart rate. Based on behavioral changes, biological changes and physical changes the proposed framework extracts meticulous information. The proposed framework is further validated through implementation of a facial emotion recognition system that successfully recognizes various human emotions. The facial emotion recognition system of the proposed framework is compared with existing SVM technique in terms of accuracy, training and testing error. Accuracy with the proposed system is increased to 78.40% in comparison with existing SVM that is 75.37% and the training error is decreased to 0.004103 whereas with the existing SVM method training error is 0.008935.

Abstract

Sentiment analysis is the pre-eminent technology to extract the relevant information from the data domain. In this paper cross domain sentimental classification approach Cross_BOMEST is proposed. Proposed approach will extract †ve words using existing BOMEST technique, with the help of Ms Word Introp, Cross_BOMEST determines †ve words and replaces all its synonyms to escalate the polarity and blends two different domains and detects all the self-sufficient words. Proposed Algorithm is executed on Amazon datasets where two different domains are trained to analyze sentiments of the reviews of the other remaining domain. Proposed approach contributes propitious results in the cross domain analysis and accuracy of 92 % is obtained. Precision and Recall of BOMEST is improved by 16% and 7% respectively by the Cross_BOMEST.

Abstract

Flooding is one of the most devastating natural disasters in the world. It occurs when water from heavy rains exceeds the capacity of the river banks into which it runs. Some roads are also being affected when this natural phenomenon happens which lead to closure of roads. This closure, however, are often dissiminated late to the people that are passing through the closed roads. For this purpose, a Road Flood Warning System with Information Dissemination via Social Media has been developed to provide timely flood alert information to the public. The system determines the depth of the water through an ultrasonic sensor and disseminates the data gathered to the Internet through the use of social media sites specifically Twitter and Facebook. Moreover, the system has a LED matrix and light emitting diode to display whether the roads are passable during the occurrence of floods. The test results on the performance of ultrasonic sensor showed an accuracy of 98.69% while dissemination of information was 90% successful.
