Abstract

Train Station Parking has received increasing concentration as Platform Screen Doors (PSDs) are widely used in Urban Rail Transit. Aiming to enhance the accuracy and robustness of Train Station Parking, we proposed three algorithms which are Newton Dynamics based Algorithm (NDA), Heuristic Learning based Algorithm (HLA) and Heuristic Algorithm based on deceleration deviations Sequences (HAS) by using the information of transponders, essential locating equipments in subway. Then we verify the three algorithms on time-delay of the braking system and the initial speed of the train in Train Station Parking simulation platform. The result indicates that HLA and HAS can keep parking errors in 30cm while NDA can’t. Furthermore HAS achieves the best performance compared with NDA and HLA. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.3849

Abstract

We have been studying equipment to easily acquire cardiorespiratory information at home using piezoelectric sensors arranged on the seat surface of a chair. In our previous study, we suggested that the cardiac and respiratory components could be extracted by executing template matching using a two-dimensional cross-correlation function for the signals that were obtained from the piezoelectric sensors. However, there was a difficulty with the signal extraction, depending on the seating position. Therefore, in this study, we examined the measurement of the heartbeat and breathing interval using independent component analysis and multiple piezoelectric sensors. Moreover, the heartbeat and breathing intervals that were obtained from the extracted cardiorespiratory components using our developed automatic decision method were compared with those obtained from electrocardiogram and pneumogram. As a result, it was found that we could achieve better error rates (0.93±0.44% and 5.23±3.04% for the heartbeat and respiratory intervals, respectively) than in our previous study.

Abstract

The growth in the volume of text data such as books and articles in libraries for centuries has imposed to establish effective mechanisms to locate them. Early techniques such as abstraction, indexing and the use of classification categories have marked the birth of a new field of research called "Information Retrieval". Information Retrieval (IR) can be defined as the task of defining models and systems whose purpose is to facilitate access to a set of documents in electronic form (corpus) to allow a user to find the relevant ones for him, that is to say, the contents which matches with the information needs of the user.  Most of the models of information retrieval use a specific data structure to index a corpus which is called "inverted file" or "reverse index". This inverted file collects information on all terms over the corpus documents specifying the identifiers of documents that contain the term in question, the frequency of each term in the documents of the corpus, the positions of the occurrences of the word. In this paper we use an oriented object database (db4o) instead of the inverted file, that is to say, instead to search a term in the inverted file, we will search it in the db4o database. The purpose of this work is to make a comparative study to see if the oriented object databases may be competing for the inverse index in terms of access speed and resource consumption using a large volume of data.

Abstract

Productive information system has high-level security requirements, but Trusted Computing Group’s solution of trust chain isn’t competent. After analysis and comparison of two different trust transfer ways, a new trust chain scheme was designed and its architecture was shown. With independent TPCM as a trust root, this scheme combined the advantages of linear and radial transfer. So that stronger cryptographic algorithm could be adopted by TPCM and applications’ trust attenuation decreased a lot. This scheme was described formally by 6 linear temporal logic rules. It was proved that based on these rules, this scheme could transfer trust from trust root to applications. Meanwhile, it could actively report and handle exceptions in trust chain building and system running. Abstract

The telecare medical information system (TMIS) could improve quality of medical care since it allows patients to enjoy health-care delivery services in their home. However, the privacy and security influence the development of the TMIS since it is employed in open networks. Recently, Wu and Xu proposed a privacy authentication scheme for the TMIS and claimed that their scheme could overcome weaknesses in previous schemes. However, we will demonstrate that their scheme is venerable to the server spoofing attack and cannot provide user anonymity. To overcome weaknesses in their scheme, we also propose a new authentication scheme for the TMIS. Analysis shows that our scheme not only overcome weaknesses in Wu et al.’s scheme, but also has better performance.

Abstract

Measurement of the information system (IS) project success has become the interesting topic for researchers and practitioners since the Standish Group published their findings in 1994.  Project success theory is the main concept in this topic, but this theory is still an ambiguous concept and lack in agreement among researchers and practitioners. They are also still tend to focus on single or partial dimension. Therefore, they did not get a clear picture of the system measurements. This study developed an alternative model of the project success measurement based on input-process-output (IPO) model. The development was conducted using comparison, adoption, adaptation, and combination the previous theories and models: Davis's IPO model, the project success theories, Delone and McLean' model, and the project classificatory framework. As indicated in most studies that most of models are developed using the previous theories and models rather than on empirical proofs. The result is a IS project success model consisting of 9 variables and 36 relationships among the variables. Although, the model is only a conceptual model, but it was developed completely and coherently considering three main aspects of project success measurement, namely: processional and causal models, project success theories, and the influence concept of project environment.

Abstract

Information system (IS) is important to institution of higher learning (IHL) especially in the domain of curriculum design. Without the support of IS, curriculum design in IHL is time-consuming, error-prone and much effort need to put in by curriculum designers. Although there are numerous IS developed in curriculum design domain for the past few years, there is still lack of specific IS curriculum design model found in IHL.  This study aims to propose an IS model which provide guidance during curriculum design process. Model validation phase begin with development of prototype which explains the process of creating a prototype according to the proposed model. The study collected 80 responses from the survey and the study resulted that the IS model is useful and able to reduce time, error and effort during curriculum design process.

Abstract

Waqf is one of the important economic instruments in Islam. Waqf is known as an endowment consist of donating a building, a sum of money or plot of land for charitable purposes. Various relevant aspects with  the field of waqf have been studied and debated by scholars in the area of socio-political studies, economic, accounting as well as waqf information management system development. Current research findings have shown few glaring issues in terms of the difficulty to distribute waqf benefits caused by incomplete file information, transparency of waqf documentation, lack of detailed information about waqf assets and the requirements to provide timely and sufficient information to the related stakeholders. Thus, this study explores conceptual model of integrated success factors of Waqf information management system from few literature analysis. The conceptual success model that consists of activities, relationships, relative advantage, compatability, triability, image, visibility, result demonstrability, voluntariness, complexity and trust have been used to demonstrate the Islamic and technology concepts of waqf information system.  Thorough review from several research works will help to understand the gaps in the information system management related to the state waqf agencies in Malaysia. The findings of the above issues prove on the need to identify the success factors of waqf information system management thus, helps to ensure the success development of the system.  The findings should be of great interest to both researchers and practitioners.

Abstract

Information Technology (IT) development is the vital required for human life activities in this global era. This implementation of IT system has becomes competitive among developers to increase the quality of system performance. In order to discover the IT performance of system, it neccesary to evaluate the IT implementation performance. It determines the anticipated system output to prepare to enhance the application performance. In this paper the evaluation performance that is reviewd are effectiveness and security metrics because both of evaluations able to improve the development and protection of system. Therefore, this paper classifies some IT domain development that used in term of effectiveness and security metric approach from previous researchers’ effort. It is categorized the domain based on both evaluation term of effectiveness and security metrics from specific parameter their used. The concern of this paper is to discover the important effectiveness and security metrics in IT domain performance that is anticipated to achieve expected performance.

Abstract

In order to reduce the repeated construction between telecom operators and telecom facilities, improve the utilization rate of telecom infrastructure, the use efficiency of earth ,the sources of energy and the consumption of raw materials, the protection of the natural environment and landscape, promote the sharing of telecom infrastructure. With the current telecom information highly integrated conditions, considering the current business models and business processes, establish centralized telecom infrastructure information platform, to strengthen the integration of resources monitoring and performance evaluation. On the analysis of the current situation and existing problems of domestic industry on the basis of this unit, combining with the management requirements, research and design based on B/S model and WebGIS the co-construction and sharing of information management system, this paper first demand analysis in this system, on the basis of the detailed design of the system are presented. The scheme is mainly includes: information release platform, basic information recorded: "base stations, utility, tower, computer room, room points, piping, rod way, transmission lines and stations nets" as the foundation object management, data query and statistics, the economic comparison, assessment rating, log monitoring, telecom infrastructure geographic information system (GIS) and other modules. The business management system will daily management work in network platform, solving day-to-day business management problems.
