Abstract

This paper describes how the information of the key indicators for assessing the degree of forest reclamation success in ex coal-mining area was identified. Those indicators were analyzed using the descriptive statistic as well as the discriminant analysis on the basis of biophysical data representing age class of vegetation after reclamation. The main objective of the study was to find out the predominant key indicator that determines the success of forest reclamation in ex coal-mining areas. This study found that the variance of basal area, green biomass and increment was relatively high between young plantation and old plantation. The study confirmed that the variation of the success of reclamation was strongly influenced by site quality. . The study concluded that the best indicators to be used for assessing the success of forest reclamation was the increment providing accuracy more than 79.6% either for indicator five or three classes.

Abstract

Electromagnetic emanations from IT device may leak information they process. By analyzing the characteristics of electromagnetic emanations, eavesdropper could reconstruct critical information. Particularly information displayed on monitor faces a serious security risk. Although various electromagnetic information leakage countermeasures have been proposed try to solve the information security problems, their effectiveness evaluations are mostly subjective. The comparison of their efficiency and the evaluation of information reconstruction implementations are challenging issues, no reliable quantitative metric available. From the information theory point of view, this paper presents an evaluation model for assessing monitor information reconstruction through electromagnetic emanations. By a reconstruction experiment, the amount of information leakage and information reconstruction is implemented and analyzed. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i3.4467

Abstract

In the era of globalization, implementation of e-Government (e-Gov) is very crucial because it modernizes the public and private sector for the well being of people. To build the electronic based automatic governance for improving the quality of public services is the prime measure for implementation of e-Governance in Bangladesh. Interoperability is a key issue in implementing an e-Government system. To create a general platform for sharing and exchanging information among different institutions is essential for interoperability. Grid Computing based service could be a solution for resource sharing and interoperability of e-Gov systems.  It is important to prepare standard policies and guidelines for e-Governance so that the desired expectations of interoperability between central and local government agencies can be achieved. Bangladesh government needs a specific policy which will deal with interoperability and ensure transparency and accountability in the Grid Computing Model.

Abstract

This paper proposes an integrated health information systems framework for Traditional Malay Medicine (TMM) and modern medicine in the field of postnatal care. A qualitative study was conducted via healthcare experts in the field of modern medicine and Traditional Malay Medicine to assess the current situation and identify the research gap and point of isolation between both traditional and modern medicine field. A total of 26 healthcare practitioners whom represented five different set of healthcare organisations participated in this study. The healthcare practitioners consist of modern and traditional Malay medicine background with and without proper training. Results show that there is a gap in the current people, process and technology areas of the current framework. A novel conceptual framework, MyPostnatal, proposes the existence of a sufficiently generic, extensible in-formation model where new data sources can be integrated without major changes to the data scheme. Human and organization factors are also highlighted to stimulate the adoption towards electronic health records.

Abstract

The multisensor information fusion is a key issue for multisensor system. One of its difficulties lies in the switching of the state of sensor clusters. That is, which direction should the sensor information been fused into at a given moment? An algorithm of multisensor information fusion based on rough set and neural network was proposed in this paper. Firstly, the typical clustering distributions of 54 sensors within one day were regarded as sample space. The rough set was used for access of knowledge to make the decision table of the "data - fusion distribution". Next, the redundant properties and samples of information in one month were removed using the method of knowledge reduction of rough set. Then, the neural network was applied for clustering and analyzing to form the distribution rules of multisensor information fusion. Finally, the rough neural fusion algorithm, the neural quotient space fusion algorithm and word computing fusion algorithm are simulated and analyzed. The results show that the model and algorithm proposed in the paper are efficient in classification and rapid in sensor clustering distribution decide. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i6.1661

Abstract

Information Technology (IT) governance is used as a structure and control in alignment of IT functions and business goals. One of ABC University’s business goal is to achieve World Class University in 2021. This paper presents a study in one of IT governance’s component, likely structure of IT decisions right or archetype. It is needed to evaluate right applied archetype to achieve the alignment of business goals on five keys of IT decisions, namely IT principles, IT architecture, IT infrastructure, business application needs, and IT investment. COBIT 4.1 and the research of Weill and Ross (CISR) were used as the framework. The study was conducted by collecting data through observation, questionnaires, and interviews, as well as data analysis based on the existing conditions, and respondents’ perception. The analysis shows that there are still weaknesses in the existing IT governance conditions and archetype, so as it’s advisable the appropriate improvement recommendations.

Abstract

In view of personalinformation leakage risk in the process of online payment, this study putsforward a cloud protection system which can improve personal informationsecurity. The system includes two modules: personal information security modeland cloud service providers trust evaluation system. Among them, the personalinformation security model includes four layers design: the user, interface, platform and management layers. User layer is used to complete the userauthentication and login, interface layer is used for the classification andencryption of complex personal information, platform layer is used to completethe data storage, and the management layer is used to guarantee the overalleffectiveness of the system work. The cloud serviceproviders trust evaluation system based on the Theory of Membership Degree, canimprove the trust assessment level to cloud service providers. This study canensure the personal information security in the online sales, and be beneficialto the healthy development of e-commerce. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3704

Abstract

Feature selection aims to choose an optimal subset of features that are necessary and sufficient to improve the generalization performance and the running efficiency of the learning algorithm. To get the optimal subset in the feature selection process, a hybrid feature selection based on mutual information and genetic algorithm is proposed in this paper. In order to make full use of the advantages of filter and wrapper model, the algorithm is divided into two phases: the filter phase and the wrapper phase. In the filter phase, this algorithm first uses the mutual information to sort the feature, and provides the heuristic information for the subsequent genetic algorithm, to accelerate the search process of the genetic algorithm. In the wrapper phase, using the genetic algorithm as the search strategy, considering the performance of the classifier and dimension of subset as an evaluation criterion, search the best subset of features. Experimental results on benchmark datasets show that the proposed algorithm has higher classification accuracy and smaller feature dimension, and its running time is less than the time of using genetic algorithm.

Abstract

The comprehensive electronic information systems architecture is an important part of arming information-based construction, so the architecture description approach is needed to be studied with the system optimization simultaneously. In order to support system optimization, an architecture description approach of information systems is studied with the multi-perspective point’s method. Based on the data of the architecture description models, this article will analysis the data form of the description model and the logic relation of the data therefore the architecture description models can be used to optimize information systems architecture.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i3.2210
