Abstract

This study aims to formulate a comprehensive and digital technology-based management strategy for grey literature in university libraries. Grey literature plays a vital role in the scholarly communication ecosystem; however, its non-commercial publishing nature makes it more challenging to identify, access, and manage compared to conventional literature. This research employs a literature review method with a content analysis approach toward various scientific journal articles published within the last 10 years from academic databases. The results indicate that optimizing grey literature management in the digital era can be achieved through the implementation of four integrated primary strategies: (1) digitalization and media conversion to expand accessibility; (2) the development of structured, user-centered institutional repositories; (3) metadata standardization to ensure interoperability and ease of information retrieval; and (4) the implementation of accessibility policies based on Open Access to minimize legal and financial barriers. In conclusion, these four strategic pillars complement each other in forming a comprehensive management ecosystem, enabling university libraries to maximize their role as central hubs for information dissemination that supports research and inclusive scholarly communication.

Abstract

The digital transformation of education requires school libraries to evolve into technology-based learning resource centers. However, library management at SD Muhammadiyah 16 Palembang was still dominated by conventional administrative practices, limiting the effectiveness of library services in supporting teaching and learning activities. This community service program aimed to optimize school library management through digital-based management training for library personnel. The program was implemented through five stages: needs assessment, training, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation. The training covered digital library management, the use of the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), digital collection management, literacy promotion, and the integration of digital learning resources into library services. Program evaluation was conducted using observations, interviews, documentation, and pre- and post-training assessments. The results showed that participants' competencies improved significantly, with 80% of participants able to operate digital library applications and apply digital management practices in library services. The program also encouraged the development of more effective, accessible, and interactive library services, strengthening the role of the school library as a technology-supported learning resource center.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy for managing digital library books using the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) at the Library of the Language Development and Cultivation Agency, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen). The study is motivated by the importance of systematic digital collection management amid the rapid digital transformation of library services, as well as the technical and managerial obstacles faced by librarians in optimizing the automation system. A qualitative approach was applied using a descriptive qualitative method and a naturalistic field research design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews with the head of the library, librarians, and library users, and documentation studies. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that digital book management through SLiMS covers the stages of planning, acquisition, metadata processing, storage, access services through OPAC and QR Code, and digital preservation. The main obstacles identified are the limited number of librarians with digital management competencies and inadequate server capacity. Efforts to address these obstacles include improving human resource competence through training, strengthening server infrastructure, and standardizing metadata processing procedures. This research is expected to serve as a strategic reference for the development of digital collection management in government library institutions.

Abstract

This article reports on a community service intervention to strengthen the STIA LAN Bandung Polytechnic Library's services through collection management, digital content production, and accreditation support. The partner library faced three specific problems: the accumulation of 127 uncataloged alumni-donated books, unverified inventory data for Final Project deposit collections, and a lack of digital content for institutional branding. A service-learning approach was implemented over 25 working days (November 2025-January 2026) through three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation, with achievements measured using indicators adapted from Kirkpatrick's Level 2 (learning) and Level 3 (behavior) models. The results showed that 127 books were recorded in the Master Book; 342 Final Project deposit collections were verified through stocktaking with 94.7percent accuracy; six digital content pieces were produced (generating 1,200+ social media impressions); and one accreditation support report was completed. The novelty of this study lies in the integrated model that combines conventional collection management with digital branding strengthening within a single service-learning framework for the vocational library context. This achievement can serve as a replicable model for strengthening student-centered library services in vocational colleges.
