Abstract

Research on brain based learning began intensive since the 1990s and mostly revolves around the teaching and learning process. The abundance of research on neuorsains has a profound effect on the speed of brain-based learning research. Meanwhile, research on history textbooks mostly takes the theme of historiography and minimal research on its use in learning. This is where the importance of research is brain based learning and social studies textbooks. Textbook research related to brain-based learning has been initiated by the team since 2013. This year's research, researchers will conduct further research on brain-based learning as the basis for making IPS comic textbooks. Based on the study of previous research findings, the application of Neuropedagogy in IPS textbooks in the form of comics includes: time line, a glimpse of info, historical lessons, behind characters, mind maps, historical caricatures, historical humor, historical mysteries, contemporary issues, if history, and memorizing strategies . The main limitation of this research problem is how is the application of brain-based learning in social studies text books VII class? This research uses a research and development approach model with the steps in this process referring to the form of a cycle.

Abstract

The process writing approach treats writing as a process rather than a completed product. Writing studies are conducted as part of the process due to the completion of the written text. In writing classes, this approach tends to focus on the student, and the teacher only acts as a guide. The process writing approach includes actions that occur when a written text is created. This research analyzed the benefits of the process approach as a teachers’ approach in order to enhance student writing skills in recount text. The researcher used the literature review and some of the previous research which has been conducted before as the measurements toward the process approach could improve student writing skill in recount text whether they understood the material which given by the teacher or not. As a result of the literature review and the previous research, the researcher found a significant influence of the process writing approach on writing progress and anxiety mainly in recount text. Based on this finding for written language research, the use of a process writing approach is recommended. Keywords: Teaching Writing, Process approach, Recount text

Abstract

Reading is central to learning process, by reading people can gain important information in this millennial era. Study reading aims to develop the reading skills that you need to find information quickly, to identify what is important in a text, to compare different sources of information and to read critically. The aim of this experimental research is to investigate the effect of communicative approach on reading competencies of 10th grade students of SMK SEHATI in the academic year of 2018/2019. It is about 60 pupilss were assigned as sample through random sampling. Data of student’s reading competencies were collected by using multiple choice of descriptive text test. Abstract

Information of technology development is indispensable for research planning. This information is needed by researcher to determine research topics which he will contribute. For journal editor, this information is needed to evaluate research paper draft. Unfortunately, technology development is unable to be measured directly. To measure the development, several methods have been developed using patent and journal as its data. In this work we focused on development of technology map and its measurement in a method to provide information of technology development from Indonesian research journals using text mining and network analysis. The map helps stakeholders to plan their researches. Using journal data from agro-industrial technology, the method is able to identify relation between researches, thus we can develop the time line of the research area. The method can also cluster the researches into nineteen research areas and measure its popularity, importance, affinity to particular group, research type whether breakthrough or incremental, research group retention time, and its saturation.

Abstract

In the social media, product reviews contain of text, emoticon, numbers and symbols that hard to identify the text summarization. Text analytics is one of the key techniques in exploring the unstructured data. The purpose of this study is solving the unstructured data by sort and summarizes the review data through a Web-Based Text Analytics using R approach. According to the comparative table between studies in Natural Language Processing (NLP) features, it was observed that Web-Based Text Analytics using R approach can analyze the unstructured data by using the data processing package in R. It combines all the NLP features in the menu part of the text analytics process in steps and it is labeled to make it easier for users to view all the text summarization. This study uses health product review from Shaklee as the data set. The proposed approach shows the acceptable performance in terms of system features execution compared with the baseline model system.

Abstract

Data exchange has been rapidly increased recently by increasing the use of mobile networks. Sharing information (text, image, audio and video) over unsecured mobile network channels is liable for attacking and stealing. Encryption techniques are the most suitable methods to protect information from hackers. Hill cipher algorithm is one of symmetric techniques, it has a simple structure and fast computations, but weak security because sender and receiver need to use and share the same private key within a non-secure channel. Therefore, a novel hybrid encryption approach between elliptic curve cryptosystem and hill cipher (ECCHC) is proposed in this paper to convert Hill Cipher from symmetric technique (private key) to asymmetric one (public key) and increase its security and efficiency and resist the hackers. Thus, no need to share the secret key between sender and receiver and both can generate it from the private and public keys. Therefore, the proposed approach presents a new contribution by its ability to encrypt every character in the 128 ASCII table by using its ASCII value direct without needing to assign a numerical value for each character. The main advantages of the proposed method are represented in the computation simplicity, security efficiency and faster computation.

Abstract

Students in Indonesia who learn English as a Foreign Language (EFL) encounter problems in learning how to write in English. Not a novel problem in the least, but the more connected the world is becoming due to the availability of information and communication technologies (ICT). This study aims to address the need to improve the generation’s English skills, lest they are left behind the moving era. This study is a classroom action research (CAR), using a test, observation, field note, and interviews as the research instruments. Twenty-nine middle school students were taught to produce descriptive texts using the approach of an educational game called Bits and Pieces. The results showed that the game improved students’ average scores in writing descriptive text from 70.12 (cycle I) to 79.75 (cycle II) as students’ were unanimously interested in the strategy, much more so than traditional approaches.

Abstract

Abstract: The effect of language experience approach on students’ comprehension in reading recount text (A study at the etnth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sibabangun). The aim of this research is to know: 1) The extent of the application of language experience approach on students’ comprehension in reading recount text, 2) The extent of the students’ comprehension in reading recount text before and after using language experience approach, and 3) Whether there is a significant effect of language experience approach on students’ comprehension in reading recount text. The population of this research is all the tenth grade students which are divided into seven classes and total are 193 students. The sample is using systematic sampling is 32 students. This study is carried on by using experimental method. The data is collected by giving observation and test. The writer uses statistic processes in analyzing data by using formula of ttest. After collecting the data, it is found that the application of Language Experience Approach on students’ comprehension in reading recount text is 3.6. It is categorized “Very Good”. The students’ comprehension in reading recount text before using Language Experience Approach is 79.06. It is categorized “Good”. The students’ comprehension in reading recount text after using Language Experience Approach is 83.91. It is categorized “Very Good”. The calculation of ttest formula is 10.08, meanwhile the score of the ttable 5% significant level is 2.04. It is found that t0 calculation is bigger than ttable (10.08 > 2.04). It showed Ha is accepted, it means that there is a significant effect of students’ comprehension in reading recount text before Language Experience Approach at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sibabangun. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Bagaimana peningkatan perilaku belajar siswa selama penerapan pendekatan proses untuk menulis teks naratif? (2) Bagaimana peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa setelah penerapan pendekatan proses untuk menulis teks naratif?. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus, dan setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan tes menulis dan observasi pada perilaku menulis siswa dan kinerja peneliti dalam menerapkan pendekatan proses di kelas Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata menulis siswa meningkat dari 62,81 pada siklus I menjadi 70,63 pada siklus II. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa Pendekatan Proses dalam pengajaran menulis dapat meningkatkan perilaku belajar siswa dan juga meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam menulis teks naratif. Kata Kunci: Menulis, Pendekatan Proses, dan Teks Naratif ABSTRAK The study was aimed to know (1) how is the improvement of students’ learning behavior during the implementation of process approach to write narrative text? (2) how is the improvement of the students’ writing ability after the implementation of the process approach to write narrative text?. Research design used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR), this study was conducted in two cycles which consist of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting in every cycle. The data of this study were obtained by writing test and observation on the students’ writing behavior and the researcher performance in implementing process approach in the classroom. This study showed that the average score of students’ writing score was improved from 62.81 in cycle I to 70.63 in cycle II. Based on the result of this study it is concluded that implementing process approach in teaching writing can improve students’ learning behavior and also can improve their ability in writing narrative text. Keywords: Writing, Process Approach, and Narrative Text

Abstract

This article aims to define the meaning of corruption through the text of the Qur’an and contextualize it in the example of the practice of violations committed by several groups of state and regional organizations. The author tries to use the maudhu'i interpretation approach because there are not many studies using this approach and specifically about corruption. Likewise in the Islamic perspective, the text of the Qur'an mentions several terms of corruption such as al-dalw (Al-Baqarah: 188), ghulul (Ali Imran: 161), saraqah (Al-Maidah: 38), and al -suht (Al-Maidah: 42), which in its context experienced an expansion of meaning along with the development of corruption cases that occurred in Indonesia. For example the word al-dalw (Al-Baqarah: 188) implies enriching oneself or others, abuse of authority, and bribery. Ghulul (Ali Imran: 161) implies enriching oneself or others, harming state finances, abuse of authority, embezzlement, gratuity. Then Saraqah (Al-Maidah: 38) implies enriching oneself or another person, harming state finances, abuse of authority, embezzlement. And lastly al-suht (Al-Maidah: 42) implies enriching oneself or others, abuse of authority, bribery Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendefinisikan arti korupsi melalui teks al-Qur'an dan mengontekstualisasikannya dalam contoh praktik pelanggaran yang dilakukan oleh beberapa kelompok organisasi negara dan regional. Penulis mencoba menggunakan pendekatan interpretasi maudhu'i karena tidak banyak penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan ini dan khususnya tentang korupsi. Demikian juga dalam perspektif Islam, teks al-Qur'an menyebutkan beberapa istilah korupsi seperti al-dalw (Al-Baqarah: 188), ghulul (Ali Imran: 161), saraqah (Al-Maidah: 38), dan al -suht (Al-Maidah: 42), yang dalam konteksnya mengalami perluasan makna seiring dengan perkembangan kasus korupsi yang terjadi di Indonesia. Misalnya kata al-dalw (Al-Baqarah: 188) menyiratkan memperkaya diri sendiri atau orang lain, penyalahgunaan wewenang, dan penyuapan. Ghulul (Ali Imran: 161) menyiratkan memperkaya diri sendiri atau orang lain, merusak keuangan negara, penyalahgunaan wewenang, penggelapan, gratifikasi. Kemudian Saraqah (Al-Maidah: 38) menyiratkan memperkaya diri sendiri atau orang lain, merugikan keuangan negara, penyalahgunaan wewenang, penggelapan. Dan terakhir al-suht (Al-Maidah: 42) menyiratkan memperkaya diri sendiri atau orang lain, penyalahgunaan wewenang, penyuapan.
