Abstract

The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is believed to improve the quality of human life, reduce inequality, and encourage the acceleration of poverty reduction. ICT can be developed as an alternative poverty alleviation program. The purpose of this study was to determine the opportunities of utilization of ICT in reducing poverty in Sumedang Regency and Bandung City. This study used quantitative methods with sources taken from National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) data in 2018. The data was analyzed by the Probit Regression method. ICT variables consisted of the ownership of cellular phones, computer use, and internet access. The results of the econometric model indicate that ICT can reduce the likelihood of poverty after being controlled by other related variables such as age, gender, education level, number of household members, access to business credit, and employment status. The government is expected to synergize with stakeholders to improve public services integrated with poverty reduction through the use of ICT, educating the public with productive internet, and expanding the development of ICT infrastructure.

Abstract

This study intends to explain the effectiveness of Guided Reading Technique (GRT) and Reciprocal Teaching Technique (RTT) as a means of teaching English for IT purposesto differently motivated students. Based on the question, this research intends to show the effectiveness of GRT to teach highly motivated students, the effectiveness of RTT to teach lowly motivated students, and the difference between the groups of students before and after being taught using GRT and RTT. This quasi-experimental study uses 2X2 factorial design. Two groups of students are located in their regular setting, taught by relatively similar quality teachers, using similar teaching-learning facilities except teaching techniques which are made different. The first group was taught using GRT, while the second was taught using RTT. Prior to the experiment proper, pre-test was administered to the two groups. The purpose on this test was to make sure that their competence in English for IT purposes was equal. The students were also asked to fill in a questionnaire to measure their levels of motivation. The results of the experiment show that (1) both techniques provide the same results when applied to highly motivated students; (2) both techniques provide similar results when applied to lowly motivated students; (3) there is a significant difference among the groups of students before and after being taught using GRT compared to RTT

Abstract

The Ragunan area specifically RT 010 RW 08 is an area that currently really needs a population administration information system that can perform data processing related to the process of providing information about the Ragunan area, specifically in RT 010 RW 08, such as registration of population data, family, date of birth, print out residents' correspondence, report on cash information from residents and report on residents' complaints to the head of the RT. In the data processing that is currently running, God is still recorded in the ledger. In services and public information, which is currently still done manually, and also all data is recorded in a ledger for making ktp (identity card) and also kk (family card) which must first look for data in the main population book. The obstacles faced in this process are activities that take time and the risk of data recording errors. This can be overcome by building a new system that is more effective and efficient, namely a web-based Information System using the MySql database.
