Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of the reward and punishment method, teacher readiness, and the use of information and communication technology on student achievement in the Akidah Akhlak subject at Madrasah Aliyah Hidayatul Mubtadiin Jati Agung, South Lampung Regency. The research was quantitative. The population in the study was 235 students with a random sampling technique. The sample used was 235 students. The data collection method used was a questionnaire. The method of data analysis was done by descriptive analysis and path analysis. The study showed that the reward and punishment method positively affected student learning achievement by 19.20%. Second, teacher readiness positively affected student achievement by 26.5%. Third, information and communication technology positively affected student achievement by 29.1%. Fourth, the method of reward and punishment, teacher readiness, and the use of information and communication technology simultaneously positively affected student learning achievement by 36.7%. Thus, teachers were expected to use the reward and punishment method, prepare themselves, and utilize information and communication technology to affect student achievement positively.

Abstract

Abstract: Information asymmetry can harm users until discloser can solve it. The objective of the research was to analyze the influence of disclosure on information asymmetry by analyzing determinant fundamental disclosure. Disclosure is proxied by access to growth, firm size, firm value, complexity, institutional ownership, leverage, profitability, and public ownership with earning management as moderating variable. The research object was food and beverages companies listed in the Indonesian Stock Exchange in the period of 2010-2014. The samples were taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed by using multiple linear regression analysis. The result of the research showed that, partially, access to growth had insignificant influence on information asymmetry. Institutional ownership and public ownership had positive and significant influence on information asymmetry, while firm size had negative but significant influence on information asymmetry. Simultaneously, the four independent variables had significant correlation with information asymmetry. Earning management as moderating variable strengthened the correlation between disclosure and information asymmetry. Keywords: Information Asymmetry, Disclosure, Earning Management, Window Dressing, Income Management

Abstract

Nowadays, information and communication technology has been accelerated. This condition also influence on the shift of students attitude toward knowledge and education. Therefore, teacher or lecturer must be creative to deal with this digital generation, for example by developing engaging media. This attempt become more and more important to do especially on history learning since many students considers this subject as dull and meaningless. This research tries to develop an engaging history learning media by using sigil software. The method used in this research is following Sadiman’s model in media development which consist of several stages (1) identification of needs, (2) intention analysis, (3) content development (4) formulating of success measuring instrument, (5) media script writing, (6) validation, (7) revision, and (8) production . From the analysis, it can be inferred that the sigil based e-book with MindMaple content is valid. The percentage of media expert validation is 86%, media expert validation is 85% and small group trial is 96,25%. Therefore this media is feasible to use in the “Technology and Information for History Learning” course. The advantages of this e-book are low cost, easy to use, and engaging.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to identify the needs and appropriate media for information services regarding the management of freshwater and sanitation of small island community in North Lombok. The data was collected using a questionnaire with the households as respondents. The study then compared two samples i.e. the community in the district of Lombok north and Kepulauan Seribu using Kolmogorov-Smirnov technique. The community in both districts has similarities and differences in the aspect of demographic, understanding, behaviors as well as the information needs and the preferred media. The study concludes that the community in Lombok Utara needs information about global warming and its effect to the damage of freshwater and sanitation. The media information such as film animation is necessary to be considered due to fact that people of the two districts have a longer time on the land.

Abstract

The application of technology will have a direct strategic impact on the organization. Information technology in the context of infrastructure refers to applications used to create, process, store, and disseminate knowledge to organizations. The capability of information technology will encourage the effectiveness of organizations in creating a competitive advantage. The research direction is to uncover the influence of Information Technology Capability (ITC) on Readiness to Change (RTC) of organizations mediated by the existence of the role of Leadership and Human Capital Effectiveness (HCE). These two big concepts are offered to bridge the research gap. The research sample was 166 design-based fashion manufacture industry in Central Java at the organizational level, consist of 49 males and 117 females respectively. Testing through the Structural Equation Model shows that Information Technology Capability (ITC) has an indirect influence on Readiness to Change (RTC) through Human Capital Effectiveness (HCE) which is greater than through Leadership and HCE.

Abstract

This research focuses on investor decision making on information provided by the company. Belief-adjustment models emphasize the order of presentation of information. Order effects occur when decisions made by individuals differ after receiving evidence in a different order. In order of evidence, the characteristics of the evidence are mixed between confirmative (positive) information and unconfirmed (negative) information. The participants of this study are investors who have investment accounts. The design of the 2x4 experimental method is divided into analysis of factor 2 (presentation pattern) x 4 (information value), which aims to test that the presentation of information in step by step (SBS) will have a better impact than end of sequence (EOS). There are 8 combinations of instruments contain patterns and information values that are used as a source of stock valuation. ANOVA analysis is used for this study. The results showed that there was an effect of the pattern of information delivery in investment decision making when the SBS and EOS disclosure patterns in hypothesis 1 and hypothesis 2. The results of hypothesis 3 did not support the belief adjustment model theory.

Abstract

This research aims to test the reaction of the investors when the investors receive a dividend information presented with positive or negative frames at the same market conditions, either bullish or bearish market conditions. In addition, it also test the reactions of investors when they are in the bullish or bearish market conditions, the investors receive a dividend information with the same frame, both positive and negative frames. The investors reaction is indicated by the magnitude of the stock price prediction on the next day with absolute value. Experimental method is used to test the hypotheses in this research by using independent sample t-test. The results showed that there is an information framing effect to the investors when receiving the information with a positive frame in the bullish market conditions and gain domain effects occur to the investors in the bullish market conditions when the investors receive the information with a positive frame. These results are expected to provide a new insight on the different reactions of investors when receiving the same information.
