Abstract

This Classroom Action Research was aimed at: 1) increasing students' critical thinking skills through IMPROVE learning model, 2) improving students’ learning outcomes through IMPROVE learning model, 3) describing the response of students to the IMPROVE learning model. This study was a Class Action Research (PTK), the place of the research was in SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja and was implemented in semester 2 in academic year 2011/2012.  The subjects of research were the students in grade VIII B1 of SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja in Academic Year 2011/2012 with the objects of research were in the form of critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes. Data of the critical thinking skills were collected using observation sheets, for student learning outcomes data were collected through the learning result test, while for the students’ response data retrieved using the enclosed questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive analysis.          The result of the research showed that: (1) the increasing in the average students' critical thinking skills in information and communication technology subject from cycle I was 9,66 with a high qualification became 12,41 with a very high qualification in cycle II, (2) The student learning outcomes have increased from cycle I at 73,5 became 89,83 in cycle II. The classical completeness in cycle I at 68,75% increased to 100% cycle II, (3) The response of students to the IMPROVE learning models in ICT subjects were at a very positive qualification with an average of 49.97

Abstract

This study was aimed at (1) improving learning students’ achievement of VIII B5 class at SMP Negeri 6 Singaraja in 2011-2012 of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in order to apply of the Generative Teaching Model; (2) knowing the students respond of VIII B5 class to apply the Generative Teaching Model of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). This study is a classroom action research design that used in 2 cycles by involving a total number of  30 students of VIII B5 class at SMP Negeri 6 Singaraja second semester in 2011/2012. The object of this research were learning students’ achievement and students response in basic competency of making simple number processing document of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The learning students’ achievement data was collected based on cognitive test, psychomotor observation and affective observation. Meanwhile, the students’ response data was collected by using questionnaire. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively.  The result of the study showed that (1) there was improvement of learning students’ achievement of VIII B5 class at II cycle to apply the Generative Teaching Model of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The results indicated that the learning students’ achievement score include: there was improvement of averaging class about 5,92 is 75,73 at I cycle become 81, 65 for II cycle. There was improvement of digestibility about 5,29% is 75,73 of I cycle and 81, 65% for II cycle. Meanwhile, there was improvement of classical completeness learning students from 66,67% at I cycle become 100% at cycle II by improving about 33,33%, (2) The students’ responses towards Generative Teaching Model of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) by averaging about 48,43. The results indicated that the implementation of Generative Teaching Model could successfully improve the learning students’ achievement of Information and Communications Technology.

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) design a prototype geographic information system productive and non-productive land, (2) implement a geographical information system prototype productive and non-productive land. In the design and implementation, the researcher used AHP (Analysis Hierarchy Process) which has 8 stages: (1) defining the problem and determine a solution, (2) creating a hierarchical structure, (3) making  pairs comparison matrix, (4) Perform pairs comparisons, (5) calculating the Eigen values and tested for consistency, (6) repeating steps 3,4, and 5 for all levels of hierarchy, (7) calculating the eigen vectors of each matrix comparisons, and (8) checking the consistency of the hierarchy. The input of these applications in the form of the data fields in each district, while the output in the form of the results of the calculation of the percentage of the land. The testing process used black box (functional) testing and white box (conceptual / structural) testing.The type of research used in this study was Research and Development (R & D). Development of geographical information systems productive and nonproductive land in Bali used the web-based Waterfall model with time allocation around six months from September 2012 to January 2013.The result of this research was the Web Based Geographic Information Systems Productive and Non Productive Land in Bali were implemented into Web-based programming language PHP. Based on trial results, it can be seen that these applications were able to perform calculations AHP to determine the percentage for each field. So it can be concluded that the "Web Based Geographic Information Systems and Non Productive Land in Bali' can help people to determine the feasibility of land in an area.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes on the subject of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) by applying Accelerated Learning (AL) model. AL utilizes visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (VAK) approach as well as   students' response to evaluate its application.The study was conducted at SMAN 2 Singaraja with participants from X6 grade  students (36 students), school year 2012/2013. The design of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of 2 cycles. The data collected in this study is the result of students’ learning and response to the application of AL on ICT subjects. The student learning outcomes data collected through cognitive test and affective and psychomotor observation sheet, while the students' response data was collected via enclosed sheet questionnaires.The result shows that (1) there is an increase in students’ learning outcomes. This is evident from the classical completion that the students obtained: 52,78% and 80,00% in the first and second cycle respectively. The learning outcomes have increased by 27,22%. (2) The average students’ response to the application of the AL model is positive: 45.62% of the questionnaires. The researcher concludes that the application of the AL model which uses the VAK approach can improve the learning outcomes on the subjects of ICT. Furthermore, it has also received a positive response from the students.

Abstract

This research is aimed to (1) improve the result of learning Technology Information and Communication for students on science class (IPA) grade XI in SMAN 2 Singaraja through the implementation of instructional model learning cycle 5E assisted with interactive LKS with Blog-based, and (2) to know the students’ response in science class grade XI toward the implementation of instructional model learning cycle 5E assisted with interactive LKS with Blog-based on Technology Information and Communication subject.This Research is classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consists of 4 steps. The first step is the planning of action, the second step is action, the third step is observation and Evaluate, and the fourth step is reflection. Subjects in this research are students in science class XI IPA 3 SMAN 2 Singaraja in academic year 2012/2013 that consist of 31 students. The objects of this research are (1) students’ result, and (2) students’ responses toward the implementation of instructional model learning cycle 5E  on Technology Information and Communication subject. The data is obtained through test and observation, and the data for students’ response is obtained through questionnaire. The data obtained is analyzed descriptively.  Based on the results of analysis data obtained, the results show that there is improvement or progress on students result in learning TIK. On the first cycle, the average of students scores are 77,88 and the percentage of students success are 70,96%. On the second cycle, there is significant improvement become 84,62 and 83,87%. Students’ response in implementing learning cycle 5E in learning TIK can be categorized in positive category with the average scores 47.

Abstract

This study were aimed at improving the technology of information andcommunication students’ learning results by applying Self Regulated Learning (SRL) type, and knowing students’ responses about SRL type implementation.Subjects of the study were the class VIII A students of SMP BhaktiyasaSingaraja at the first semester in the academic year 2012/2013, which involve 26 students. The design of this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR) that consists of two cycles. The data collected in this research is the result of learning and response against the implementation of SRL learning of model students in the subject of information technology and communication. Data of students learning results were collected using test and observation where as data of students responses were collected using questionnaire.The result of this study showed that (1) there are improvement of students’learning results. This was showed by amounts of classical success on the first cycle was about 65.38%, and on the second cycle was about 84.61%.The improvement of this learning results was about 19.23%. (2) the average amounts of students’ responses about SRL type implementation belong to positive responses that was about 43,92. Theresearcher concluded that the implementation of SRL type on technology of information and communication lesson was improved students’ learning result and got a positiveresponses.

Abstract

Ganesha University of Education (UNDIKSHA) is one of the universitiesthat have the vision and mission create the qualified of educators.and noneducators, to achieve that vision UNDIKSHA need good facilities to support student learning, one of these facilities is the library. The library is a information centre, source of knowledge, research and recreation UNDIKSHA Library has thousands of books by different authors and has been supported by a good system to help students in finding information, The main factors is a student does not find the books that need at the library's collections and students become lazy to come to the library because the books they want to borrow is not return yet. This studyis aimed to create and implementate a software Searching Books Information System by Using Thesaurus based on Short Message Service (SMS) in Ganesha Universitiy of Education (UNDIKSHA) Library in Singaraja. The application is expected to assist members in obtaining information about books in UNDIKSHA Library. Information Systems Development is using a waterfall model, designed by Data Flow Diagram (DFD) and implemented by PHP programming language and MYSQL as the database and Gammu to run the SMS Gateway. After the testing process, it can be concluded that this application is capable to give information about books in library, the existence of the books in library, the date of returning the books for users who borrow the books and reminder of returning the books which is sent by SMS.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) develop Mobile Based Geographic InformationSystem for Tourism in Bali Island, (2) Implement the design of Mobile Based Geographic Information System for Tourism in Bali Island. The developed application, is expected to help the various parties in facilitating the provision of information about the tourism destination and the support facilities. This application purposed to provide information to the user in the form of information about the island of Bali, which is able to manipulate various types of data, such as the content of the website, categories of location, location and spot and program JAR, do a search points, do a search spot location, perform location search by district or category and search radius by 10 locations nearby.In the design and implementation of the application, the author used thewaterfall method or which is often called the classic life cycle model is the model in creating the software. The model includes several stages, namely: (1) requirements definition, (2) system and software design, (3) implementation and unit testing, and (4) integration and system testing.The results of this research is an application named "GIS WISATA" toassist in providing information about tourist destinations to users anytime and anywhere, which was developed with the JAVA programming language which is supported by a web-based aplication with PHP programming language and MySQL database.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Singaraja City using high-resolution remote sensing images and geographic information systems. The purpose is to use remote sensing images and geographic information systems to identify slum settlements, especially the former harbor area in Singaraja City. Slum settlement is the impact of population growth that is difficult to control. As a result, the remote sensing image can identify three features: slums, non-slum settlement, and non-slum areas. Most slum settlements are located in coastal areas, and non-slum settlements are located in areas close to economic locations and tourist sites and offices. The most significant introduction to slum identification comes from the building area. Based on these results, it can be concluded that slum settlement can be identified through images obtained from Google earth and recognized visually through interpretation keys.

Abstract

Kondisi yang dapat mengakibatkan gagal panen dalam pertanian yang cukup rentan diantaranya bencana alam, perubahan iklim yang mengakibatkan banjir atau bahkan kekeringan lahan, hama dan lain-lain. Sistem Informasi pertanian berbasis kecerdasan buatan yang dapat mengontrol semua itu dengan akses yang lebih luas melalui komputer dapat menjadi solusi untuk mencegah gagal panen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang aplikasi berbasis web untuk memantau dan mengendalikan lahan pertanian secara jarak jauh dengan teknologi sistem informasi geografis dan internet of things.  Metode Perancangan aplikasi menggunakan model proses waterfall dibantu dengan unified modelling language dan prototype untuk mempermudah komunikasi antar pemegang kepentingan. Dengan mengintegrasikan sistem infomasi dengan sektor pertanian mampu meningkatkan mutu hasil panen karena dapat memberikan informasi tanggal prediksi panen, memberikan informasi suhu tanah, memberikan informasi kelembapan tanah. mengetahui PH air, dan kondisi kadar air dalam tanah. Dari hasil penelitian ini, Data Suhu Udara, Kelembaban Udara, pH Air, Kekeringan Tanah akan terkirim ke Cloud Server via Aplikasi Web. Tanah akan terkotrol oleh sistem, jika tanah kering maka pompa air akan menyala untuk melakukan penyiraman. Kondisi ini yang membuat petani dapat terhindar dari gagal panen. Aplikasi yang dirancang sudah diuji di Desa Cimaung Tugu, Kecamatan Cimaung, Kabupaten Bandung Selatan dengan hasil memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna dan berhasil diuji dengan menggunakan topologi yang umum digunakan untuk aplikasi berbasis teknologi cloud yang menghubungkan sensor dengan pengguna akhir.
