Abstract

Digital transformation has reshaped the way communities access information and services, including through the role of Community Information Groups (KIM). This study explores the transformation of KIM Pojok Jatirogo from a community-based information medium into a facilitator of integrated marketing communication and a provider of digital services. The objectives are to describe the transformation process, analyze communication strategies, and evaluate the impact on local economic empowerment. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that KIM Pojok Jatirogo successfully integrated public information functions with digital services such as PJEK Delivery, Digiplain Digital Marketing, and Tour & Travel. Operational data indicate substantial growth: PJEK orders increased from 622 per month in 2018 to more than 4,000 per month in 2025, while MSME supported by Digiplain grew from 5 in 2019 to 300 in 2025. By applying Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) strategies that combine WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and offline events, KIM enhanced both community engagement and UMKM competitiveness. These findings reinforce Diffusion of Innovation theory (Rogers, 2003) and the social capital concept (Putnam, 2000), highlighting the importance of change agents and trust networks in the success of community-based innovation. This study concludes that community-driven digital transformation strengthens local economic ecosystems and enhances KIM’s legitimacy as a strategic partner of local government. The scientific contribution lies in offering a replicable model of community-based integrated marketing communication with implications for MSME development and rural digital economy building.

Abstract

The construction sector continues to face challenges related to project cost efficiency, especially during the procurement phase. At PT XYZ, this issue stems from the absence of an integrated catalog information system for pricing and contracts. Consequently, budget planning, vendor selection, and procurement assessments lack reliable historical data. Disparate pricing data across departments and insufficient integration with ERP SAP reduce the accuracy of budget formulation and decision-making. This study aims to: (1) ascertain developmental requirements for a catalog information system based on ideal conditions and root cause analysis; and (2) devise a system design to support data-driven procurement decisions. The research employs the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, starting with preliminary research to investigate underlying causes, followed by gap analysis, technical information assessment, and system design through Data Flow Diagrams (DFD) and Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD). The database is structured according to Third Normal Form (3NF) to ensure data efficiency and integrity. The findings show that the proposed catalog system integrates centralized price databases with ERP SAP, incorporates vendor evaluation mechanisms, establishes standardized data templates, and implements price trend analysis features. The resulting system is expected to enhance the accuracy and consistency of procurement decisions by providing historical data access, vendor performance tracking, and automated price simulations. This research contributes to procurement digitization practices in the construction industry by offering a systematic framework for implementing integrated catalog information systems that improve cost efficiency, transparency, and planning quality in construction projects.

Abstract

Aim: The information user’s perception of a need drives their pursuit of information, which in turn causes their demands for formal and informal information sources and services, with the latter ultimately leading to success or failure. People actively seek out information and use it to complete their tasks. The public library’s goal as piece of information is to serve the community’s information needs. As a result, the public library’s primary function is to meet the informational and cultural requirements of the community at large through the information of materials and services applicable to a wide range of audiences and formats. In most cases, the local, regional, or national community, or the national government, is responsible for establishing, promoting, and funding the Public Library. Methodology: The purpose of the research is to gain insight into the habits of library users in Kalutara, Horana, Sri Lanka. The study population comprises users who frequent the main library and three satellite locations. Non-probability sampling through the convenience sampling strategy was used to select participants in this survey-based study. There was an 87% participation rate (n = 348).Findings: The results of this study show that many public library users are part of younger demographics and are students by profession. Most students in the study also regularly used the Horana metropolitan area public library. Therefore, most of their internet research is focused on school-related topics, such as those covered in class. Thus, library programs can be tailored to different demographics of young people. Implications/Novel Contribution: This research shows that the way information is discovered and the public library’s accessibility are negatively impacted by the library’s lack of resources. Current research indicates that public library administrations will put in place mechanisms to improve patrons’ access to information by modernizing reading services, updating books, expanding existing capacity, recruiting new service members, and providing electronic learning resources. Staff members must be educated appropriately to create a pleasant customer service environment. As a result of this study, we will have a much better grasp of what public library patrons are doing when looking for information. This would be useful for researchers in pinpointing methodological holes they can fill with future investigations.
