Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi informasi pada perusahaan atau organisasi sudah banyak dilakukan. Namun demikian penggunaannya masih sebatas pada tingkat teknis atau operasional dan belum sepenuhnya mendukung proses bisnis yang ada.  Dibutuhkan seorang CIO yang mampu menyeleraskan strategi TI dengan strategi bisnis agar perusahaan atau organisasi mampu bertahan hidup di lingkungan bisnis yang kompetitif. Namun ada beberapa hambatan yang dihadapi oleh seorang CIO, salah satunya terdapat “dinding pemisah” antara CIO dan staf TI. Dibutuhkan peran kepemimpinan CIO dan kompetensi soft skill sehingga bisa menghilangkan sekat pemisah demi terwujudnya keselarasan strategi TI dan bisnis yang lebih matang.

Abstract

Abstract : This study investigates Indonesian postgraduate student’s experience at the pre-sessional program of the process of seeking information and the strategies they used throughout the process. The objective is to understand their information seeking behavior particularly academic-related information in order to improve the effectiveness of educational communication in Malaysia higher institutions. Two research questions are addressed: what experiences do pre-sessional students face in the process of information seeking that can be articulated and described? What stages do pre-sessional students experience in the process of information seeking construction? Using the qualitative method, the study found that the pre-sessional students have different patterns in the constructive process of information seeking in two different groups i.e. writing and reading classes. Six stages and four stages of the search process were identified respectively for the two groups.

Abstract

Pada hakekatnya argumentasi-argumentasi tentang ilmu pengetahuan dan seni berikut tugas-tugasnya dapat di dasarkan pada perdebatan metafisika dalam filsafat dalam filsafat Perdebatan ini selalu berlangsung tanpa ada habisnya. Perdebatan antara "apa"dan "apa yang dilihat", antara "ide"dan "image", antara "realitas" dan "penampakan" mewabah pada segala bidang filsafat dan juga pada seni. Apalagi di era informasi ini, antara memesis dan abstraksi, antara persepsi data langsung seperti pada seni dialektika materialis dan bentuk idealisme pada seni konstruktivis, masih membutuhkan diskusi dan bahasan tersendiri. Kata Kunci : Filsafat, Ilmu pengetahuan, Seni, Era Informasi.

Abstract

Information technology is now used to allow users to manage information more quickly and effectively. Advances in technology in the hospitality  industry have evolved over the years. Strategic planning is implemented by companies/organizations to increase competitive advantage, minimize competitive disadvantage, and improve business process. This paper aims at producing IT strategic planning in the  hospitality industry to support the business process in a hotel. The method used in this research was adopted from a framework of IT Strategic Planning by Ward (2002). This study also used several measures such as SWOT and Porter's 5 Forces to analyze the  internal and external business environment of the hotel subject in this study. The results were a portfolio of new applications such as Mobile Web Application, CRM and Knowledge Management System which are proposed for the IT strategic planning in the hospitality industry.

Abstract

Compounding pada istilah-istilah teknologi informasi: sebuah kajian morfologis. Dalam linguistik merupakan proses pembentukan kata yang sangat produktif dua kata atau lebih digabungkan menjadi sebuah kata baru. Proses ini sering dijumpai pada pembentukan kata atau istilah baru dalam bidang teknologi informasi. Compound word (kata majemuk) pada istilah-istilah bidang teknologi informasi adakalanya memiliki makna yang berbeda dari makna leksikal pembentuk kata majemuknya. Oleh karena itu, makalah ini ditulis untuk mendeskripsikan kata majemuk yang terdapat pada istilah teknologi informasi, mendeskripsikan cara penulisannya, dan mendeskripsikan makna leksikal pada kata majemuk tersebut. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif, diketahui bahwa kata majemuk dalam teknologi informasi memiliki beberapa kombinasi elemen dengan cara penulisan menggunakan open form, hyphenated-form, dan closed/solid form. Makna kata majemukyang terbentuk dari proses compounding pada istilah teknologi informasi ternyata lebih banyak mempertahankan makna leksikal dari masing-masing kata pembentuknya daripada membentuk makna baru.

Abstract

Kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris secara aktif mempunyai arti penting dalam ketatnya persaingan dalam dunia kerja dewasa ini. Begitu juga bagi mahasiswa prodi ikor FIK, mereka dapat menggunakan kemampuan ini untuk menyerap berbagai macam informasi penting tentang dunia olahraga yang mereka geluti sehingga kemampuan dan keahlian mereka bertambah. Namun kemampuan speaking mereka ternyata rendah. Hal ini terjadi karena mereka jarang menggunakannya, meskipun dalam perkuliahan Bahasa Inggris, karena faktor malas dan malu jika berbuat salah. Oleh karena itulah diadakan penelitian dengan prosedur Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini. Information gap berarti kesenjangan infomasi, ada perbedaan informasi antar mahasiswa sehingga mereka harus melengkapi informasinya dengan cara menanyakannya pada pasangannya tanpa saling melihat informasi masing-masing. Dengan cara ini mereka aktif bertanya dan menjawab sehingga mereka terlatih untuk menggunakan bahasa target. PTK ini terdiri dari dua siklus, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Instrument penelitiannya adalah lembar penilaian dari sistem penilaian yang berdasarkan pada prosedur rating FSI untuk kemampuan speaking. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa SI prodi Ikor Jurusan Pendidikan Kesehatan dan Rekreasi FIK angkatan 2007 kelas A sebanyak 28 orang yang sedang mengikuti mata kuliah Bahasa Inggris 1 pada semester gasal tahun ajaran 2007/2008. Hasil yang didapat cukup memuaskan, level kemampuan speaking mahasiswa meningkat cukup signifikan. Jumlah mahasiswa yang ada di level yang paling rendah (level 2 ke bawah) menurun, dari siklus pertama sebanyak 12 orang, menjadi 5 orang di siklus kedua. Jumlah mahasiswa yang berada di level 2+ (kemampuan masih terbatas) juga menurun dari jumlah 10 orang di siklus pertama menjadi 9 orang di siklus kedua. Jumlah mahasiswa yang berada di level 3 dan 3+ (baik) meningkat, dari 6 orang di siklus pertama menjadi 14 orang di siklus kedua.

Abstract

Abstrak—Wyner-Ziv Video Coding (WZVC) adalah paradigma baru dalam pengkodean video, dimana, ekploitasi korelasi temporal video dilakukan sepenuhnya di dekoder. Sasarannya adalah menurunkan kompleksitas enkoder, dengan menggeser teknik estimasi dan kompensasi gerak ke sisi dekoder. Skema umum WZVC adalah mendekodekan frame dari enkoder, dengan membangkitkan side information (SI) di dekoder. Semakin akurat frame SI yang yang dihasilkan untuk sebuah frame yang dikirimkan oleh enkoder, maka kinerja rate-distortion (RD) codec WZVC akan semakin baik. Saat ini telah dikembangkan dua codec WZVC dengan metode pembangkitan SI berbeda yaitu codec DISCOVER dan codec WZVC-EM. Codec DISCOVER menerapkan metode bidirectional motion-compensated frame interpolation (B-MCFI), dimana sebuah frame SI diperoleh dengan estimasi dan kompensasi gerak dua frame referensi yang tersedia di dekoder. Sedangkan codec WZVC-EM menerapkan metode pembelajan medan gerak secara iteratif berbasis pada algoritma Expectation-Maxization (EM). Metode ini akan memperbaharui medan gerak secara iteratif untuk meningkatkan akurasi soft SI. Paper ini akan mengevaluasi kinerja RD kedua codec tersebut pada struktur group of picture (GOP) berbeda. Sasarannya adalah untuk memperoleh kerangka kerja codec WZVC yang efisien untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut. Hasil evaluasi menunjukan bahwa kinerja RD codec WZVC-EM lebih baik untuk ukuran GOP lebih besar dari dua.Kata Kunci—Side Information, Wyner-Ziv Video Coding, Codec DISCOVER, Codec WZVC-EM, Estimasi dan kompensasi gerak.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the accounting information system implemented by the company and the extent to which the role of accounting information systems for managers in making decisions. The data analyzed were a) the companys accounting system implemented, b) the conditions and operations, c) method of accounting system d) the elements of the accounting system. From the data it is expected that researchers know the ratio of enterprise accounting system implemented with existing theory, as it makes the design of the accounting system adapted to the condition of the company. The results of this study are the internal control system implemented by BMT can be said is still weak, because it is in the execution of his duties there are sections that hold multiple functions. Thus, one element of the system as a means of monitoring internal pengndalian still less fulfilled. The dual task lies in the provision of credit is the part that does the payment and administration. BMT is still not implement good accounting information system, it can be seen from the use of the form is still inadequate. Form or document already qualified but still there are many forms or documents that have not been used properly. Thus the form or document is not helpful to create a good information system. As one example of the inadequate forms or documents needed in the system of credit is not the presence of the card that functions the same as the identity card. Abstract

Abstract :  Telkom MSC (Maintenance Service Center) is one of the divisions of PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk which its major function is to do an infrastructure maintenance management to the telecommunication devices which is owned by Telkom. In order to perform an infrastructure maintenance management, Telkom MSC divides an area of management into seven parts, namely Area I Sumatra, Area II DKI Jakarta, Area III Jawa Barat, Area IV Jawa Tengah dan DIY, Area V Jawa Timur, Area VI Kalimantan and Area VII Kawasan Timur Indonesia (KTI). So far the process of maintenance and repair performed on PT. Telkom MSC Area V Jawa Timur is limited only refers to a standard work that has been set by management, so that there are few activities which could result in an obstacle. Those activities happened not only in the maintenance process but also at the time the repair process is being done. The problems faced by PT. Telkom MSC Area V Jawa Timur are not yet having standards on the process of what to do at the time or before an obstacle occured in the maintenance and repair processes itself, limited only doing a coordination meeting related to the obstacle that is being/has happened in order to make sure it will not happened in the future. Framework ITIL-V3 used as a reference to draw up a pattern of work which is structured. So that by the presence of this standard will give a clear directives work at the time or before an obstacle occured in the maintenance and repair processes, so that the two processes are able to walk on a sustainable basis. And, it could provide improvement recommendations in a form of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Instruksi Kerja (IK) and Rekaman Kerja (RK) based on the framework that is concerned with IT Service Continuity Management.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kaljaga Library Information System which is focused on collage students satisfaction as user. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan penyebaran kuisioner kepada mahasiswa yang diambil acak sebanyak 100 orang. Isi kuisioner mengacu kepada lima variabel pengukuran kepuasan pengguna yang dikembangkan oleh Doll dan Torkzadeh, yaitu Content, Accuracy, Format, Ease of Use dan Timeliness. the method of using questionaire through random-picked 100 students is used for the primary data. the questionaire refers to the five user satisfaction measurement variables which was developed by Doll and Torkzadeh: COntent, Accuracy, Format, Ease of Use, and Timeliness. The results of this research indicated that generally the five variables mentioned above are representations of user satisfaction. This research would hopefully become a recommendation to the management of UINSKs library to improve the quality of the LIS.
