Abstract

The selection of the right learning method greatly affects the high and low learning outcomes of students. At Pekanbaru SMPN 12, the learning strategies used by science teachers are still conventional. Learning has been teacher-centered and communication runs in one direction. The lecture method does not provide space for students to develop their knowledge. Passive learners and learning become boring. So the science learning outcomes of class VII.6 students are low. Index Card Match strategy is an active learning method for reviewing subject matter with a technique of finding index card pairs which are answers or questions while learning about a concept or topic in a pleasant atmosphere. One of them is by using Index Card Match learning strategies. This study aims to obtain data on the extent to which the application of Index Card Match can improve science learning outcomes of students of class VII.6 Pekanbaru 12 SMP. This research uses Classroom Action Research with a recycling cycle which consists of four stages, namely (a) planning, (b) implementation, (c) observation and (d) reflection. Data is collected through observation sheets, documentation studies, and tests in each cycle. The results showed that, on average, student learning outcomes increased. Percentage of completeness also increases. In the pre-study the percentage of completeness was 37.5%. the first cycle was 66.66% and the second cycle was 88.6%.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve learning outcomes in the attitudes domain, especially scientific attitudes as the main foundation for the formation of quality human resources. The approach used in this learning is motivation, socialization, habituation and remediation (MSHR) developed by the Physics Education Study Program FKIP Pekanbaru Riau University. The research method used is classroom action research consisting of three cycles in science subjects. The subjects of this study were class VIII-5 of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru in the 2017-2018 school year consisting of 42 students. The results of this study indicate that the learning approach used can be declared effective to improve the competency of students' scientific attitudes, with a high category.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to determine the effect of servant leadership on teacher performance in state senior high schools in the city of Padang. 2) to determine the effect of school organizational culture on teacher performance in state senior high schools in the city of Padang . This study used an associative quantitative method, the population of this study were all state senior high school teachers in the city of Padang, with a sample of 292 teachers. Analysis of the data used in this study is a regression analysis technique, in addition, the researchers also used descriptive analysis to obtain a descriptive measurement from each research variables. The results of this study are: 1) servant leadership has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance in State Senior High Schools in the City of Padang. 2) school organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance in State Senior High Schools in the city of Padang

Abstract

Mathematical disposition is an attitude that students need as students to survive in facing problems, take responsibility in their learning, and develop good work habits in mathematics. However, the mathematical disposition of STKIP Pesisir Selatan students while attending basic statistics lectures is still far from expectations. For this reason, a learning model is needed to overcome them. One model that can be used is problem based learning. The purpose of this study is to find out how to increase the mathematical disposition of STKIP Pesisir Selatan students in basic statistics courses before and after learning problem based learning and whether the improvement is significant. All populations were sampled, namely students of mathematics and ICT education courses taking basic statistics courses in the even semester 2018/2019. This type of research is Quasi Exspriment with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The research data were obtained from a questionnaire given before and after the experiments were carried out. Data analysis used N-gain test to measure the increase in mathematical disposition and continued by paired sample t test to see the significance of the increase. The results of the analysis show that the increase in mathematical disposition of STKIP Pesisir Selatan students with the application of problem based learning in basic statistical subjects has increased quite well, but the increase that occurred was not significant.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the utilization of the science laboratory of SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung. The population in this study were students who had used the science lab at SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung, science teacher and manager of the science laboratory with a sampling technique that is purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire to determine the effectiveness of the use of science laboratories. Analysis and discussion are carried out in quantitative descriptive way. Based on the analysis of the data obtained by research findings that the utilization of the science laboratory in SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung as a whole scores 78.0% which is classified as an effective category.

Abstract

This study aims to (a) To describe the urgency of pedagogical competence in fostering student character (b) To describe the urgency of personality competence in fostering student character (c) To describe the urgency of social competence in fostering student character (d) To describe the urgency of professional competence in coaching student character. Retrieval of data using qualitative descriptive methods to describe and describe the urgency of teacher competence in fostering student character in MTsN Pancung Soal in accordance with what it is and analyze it scientifically. Indicators of character development that need to be done in learning are reviewed from 4 (four) aspects of teacher competency, namely: (1) the urgency of pedagogical competencies in the form of understanding character values for students, applying character values in the implementation of learning, instilling character values in utilizing learning technology, evaluating learning outcomes and actualizing student potential. (2) the urgency of personality competence in the form of inculcation of character values in loving position, being fair to all students, being patient and calm, and building authority as educators. (3) the urgency of social competence in the form of instilling values of politeness in oral and written communication, the use of information technology and functional communication, associating effectively with the whole school community and student guardians. (4) the urgency of professional competence in the form of inculcation of character values in the educational foundation as well as in learning materials.

Abstract

This development research aims to development of Project Based Learning on System Operation at computer and networking technic this research methods IDI development research, such as the prosedure of IDI development is: define, develop and evaluate. Types of data is primary data where the data provided by the experts, teachers and students, An analysis of the data used are technical data descriptive analysis was to describe validity, practicality, effectiveness and creative of products using Learning. Based on the data analysis that was did to research methods IDI development research. The results obtained from this research and development in the book teacher and book students after validity as follows: (1) The validity of the Project Based Learning declared valid, (2) The practicalities of Project Based Learning based on teachers after validity revealed practically, (3) Effectiveness of Project Based Learning effective in improving students learning outcomes before with after using Project Based Learning, (4) The creative of Project Based Learning, Based on the findings of this study was concluded that this Project Based Learning was valid, practical effective and creative to be used asa medium of learning was in the system operation

Abstract

This research was aimed at finding out (1) creative thinking, (2) creative thinking skills of students based on highand low knowledge, and (3) the interaction between of problem based learningwith the grade of primary abilityin influencing the creative thinking skills. This research is a quasi-experimental research. Sample of this research is students at X Sains 2 SMAN 1 Sutera and students at X Sains 3 SMAN 1 Sutera. The accumulation of data using test and the analysis of data by statistical. The results showed that (1) creative thinking comprehension skills of the students who were taught by using problem based learning had high score than the students whose where taught by using conventional model 2) creative thinking comprehension skills of the students whose high primary ability that were taught by using problem based learning had same score with the students who were taught by using conventional model 3) creative thinking comprehension skills of the students whose low primary ability that were taught by using problem based learning had high score than the students who were taught by using conventional model 4) whose were no interaction among the use of problem based learning and the grade of primary abilityin influencing the creative thinking comprehention skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the application of the values of Character Education Through Usroh Activities. Character education is an education system that instills values in each individual, which includes knowledge, awareness and actions to be able to apply praiseworthy behavior to the almighty God, towards oneself, others, the environment and the nation and country. This type of research is field research that uses a qualitative approach. Collecting data in this study using interviews, observation and documentation. While the data analysis method uses descriptive analysis. The results of the discussion showed that the application of character education in SMP UNP Padang Laboratory Development included several activities including reading Asmaul Husna, reading the Koran, advice from the school principal, reading the Al-Fatihan letter for parents, praying for students, teachers, and people old and finally closed with remembrance. The activity was carried out before the teaching and learning activities in the school yard. This activity is carried out every Tuesday to Friday. The values of character education that are expected to be embedded from these activities include, among others, religious, disciplined, responsible and creative.

Abstract

SMAN 2 Pasisir is in the Red Zone position and the people there are still unfamiliar with safety in the event of an earthquake. We know that students are usually very panicked when there is an earthquake, but there is no knowledge given either from parents or teachers to children or students. For the need for the Implementation of Disaster Preparedness Schools in SMAN 2 Ranah Pesisir. The purpose of this study is to look at the implementation of a disaster preparedness school in the in SMAN 2 Ranah Pesisir, where the importance of students is to know a disaster preparedness school. Whereas in SMAN 2 Ranah Pesisir is very potential for earthquake and tsunami disasters because it is in the tsunami hazard zone, Coastal Area Public High School is in a radius of 1-2 KM if pulled straight from the shoreline. If there is a tsunami potential to be affected is very large because based on the condition of the school located in a very wide plain without any barrier waves such as buildings and buildings. The students 'knowledge about earthquake and tsunami mitigation as a whole is in the good category while the students' knowledge about the earthquake and tsunami disasters is in the sufficient category, this can be seen from the large frequency and percentage in the table above. Based on the evacuation path to TEA from in SMAN 2 Ranah Pesisir, students only ran straight towards TEA as far as 500 meters towards the hill. The tsunami evacuation route in in SMAN 2 Ranah Pesisir is still classified as inappropriate but the evacuation network has no barrier or obstruction to TEA. In addition, the distance from the settlement to the evacuation route and continued to the final evacuation site is sufficient, because the final tsunami evacuation site for people walking is approximately 30 minutes
