Abstract

The First FABC Plenary Assembly explained that the Asian Church has to participate in a dialogue of life with the poor which involves a genuine experience and understanding of the poverty, deprivation, and oppression of many of the Asian peoples. Among of the Asians poor are the farmers in Mara Satu Parish, Tanjung Selor Diocese of North Kalimantan. This paper presents a christological synthesis based on the context of structural poverty of those poor farmers in dialogue with biblical-christological reflection, mainly the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12). Through his words and acts, Jesus liberated the poor and oppressed in his time. The Church has received from Jesus the mission to help the poor. Therefore, the Church is called to implement its ministry for the poor.

Abstract

This paper is an attempt to explore understanding and meaning of the realities of human life traits such unity in diversity from Christian perspectives. According to the author, talks about the pluralism that is based on the depth of God should be in touch with the mystery of God or the mystery of faith in the Triune God. The triune God is an example of how Christians should be open in respect for differences and uniqueness of all parties. If God does not forbid the difference in himself, it is fatal and the contradiction that His creation did not appreciate each other in the difference.

Abstract

Tulisan yang muncul sekitar abad pertama Masehi banyak mengandung unsur ajaran dualisme. Tulisan 1 QS 3:13-4:26 atau Risalah Dua Roh, dari tradisi non-biblis (tradisi Qumran) dan surat pertama Yohanes dari tradisi biblis (tradisi Yohanes) merupakan contoh terbaik dari sejumlah tulisan yang sedikit banyak dipengaruhi oleh ajaran dualisme. Dengan membandingkan dua tulisan ini, akan ditemukan sejumlah kesamaan dan ketidaksamaan konsep dan gagasan di antara keduanya. Di satu pihak, kedua tulisan ini tetap mempertahankan konsep monoteisme murni: Allah adalah satu-satunya Pencipta. Di lain pihak, mereka menegaskan bahwa eksistensi roh dan manusia terbagi menjadi dua: roh baik dan roh jahat, manusia baik (anak-anak terang) dan manusia jahat (anak-anak kegelapan). Masing-masing roh menentukan dan mengatur eksistensi manusia di bumi dan takdir mereka di pengadilan terakhir pada akhir zaman. Problem yang muncul di sini adalah adakah relasi saling mempengaruhi di antara kedua teks ini ataukah keduanya sebenarnya berasal dari tradisi yang sama.

Abstract

The Catholic Church constantly teaches that a valid marriage, both sacramental and non sacramental marriage, has a character of indissolubility (cfr. Can. 1056). It does mean that once a man and a woman validly contract a marriage, they are tied by an indissoluble and perpetual bond. Therefore there is no possibility for separation or divorce of the spouses, unless because of death. Jesus said that what God has united, man must not divide (Mrk10:9). But based on the judicial practice of the Church, it is clear that God has given an outhority to the Church to dissolve the matrimonial bond, which is not all at once ratum et consummatum (cfr- Mat 16:18-19; Can. 1142-1149).

Abstract

Prophet and prophecy are common terminologies in the worlds religions. Aprophet is normally understood as a person sent by God to deliver a messageto the people concerning the future events. Therefore, a prophets words claimsto have divine quality. A big problem would then arouse when a prophecy (orprophecies) uttered by person claimed to be Gods prophet fails to materialize.This paper tries to critically analyze the common response to the problem ofunfulfilled prophecy, which consists of a blaming-the-other strategy, and offersfresh responses to such a problem based on an exegetical work on the thirdpart of the Book of Isaiah, namely Isa 56-66.
