Abstract

St. Augustine of Hippo was a restless seeker of truth. Never during more than seventy years of his life was there a period of quiet and security. This kind of life influenced greatly his way of thinking and finally his writings in philosophy and theology. Indeed, almost all his writings were polemical and controversial. In particular, his teaching on "the journey of soul toward God" was a great intellectual achievement in the history of theology as well as philosopy. His own restless soul came into maturity through that teaching, and eventually became a priviledged point of reference.

Abstract

Ketika menghadapi kesulitan banyak orang Jawa pergi berziarah ke tempattempatkeramat untuk mendapatkan kelegaan. Tempat keramat bisa berkaitandengan kehadiran yang ilahi di tempat itu, namun tempat keramat dapat jugaterjadi karena dimaksudkan demikian oleh suatu masyarakat. Tempat keramatmerupakan suatu rapresentasi dari kehendak masyarakat. Dalam masyarakatJawa, tempat keramat dapat dikunjungi oleh orang dari pelbagai agama. Secaraetnologis-sosial, hal ini tidak dapat dipandang sebagai sinkretisme, namunlebih merupakan kebersamaan sosial. Kunjungan ke tempat-tempat keramatmerupakan sarana bagi orang Jawa untuk mengembalikan posisinya dalamkehidupan bersama.

Abstract

Ecumenism as a movement always pursue movement that always include as many as possible people in this world. To make that real, the thought of Meister Eckhart and Ibn Al-Arabi can be a great inspiration. In this paper i argue that Eckhart and Arabis thought about Cosmic Spirituality can contribute to Participative Ecumenism especially in Asia with all the context in it. Their concept with stresses in relation of all Creation in this world can make something in the struggle of Asian People. The relation of all Creation can make support the Ecumenism with a great care of Poverty and real engagement in Interreligious Dialogue.

Abstract

What or who is human? This is one of the oldest questions in history. Philosopherand scientist from various disciplines try to answer it based on their researchand theories. What is unique in iek approach is his effort to combine twodifferent schools of thought as an intellectual instrument to answer this question,namely German Idealism and Jacques Lacans Psychoanalysis. Inspired by thephilosophy of German Idealism, he argued that the essence of human is notinside his or her self, but outside, namely the symbolic order that determine theirself. And inspired by Lacan, he argued that the self always embedded in thesymbolic order, and constantly disrupted by the Real. In this context, we can saythat human is a dialectical subject.

Abstract

We live together with others-people who have different religions. There are many religion believed by people around us. Thus, there are some ways that we can do together with others and people who have other religions. The important thing to make a good relationship to one another is the consciusness which shows that reality is plural. The attitude that I choose here is relious pluralism which is a realistic attitude that comes from that consciusness. Religious pluralism is the way that I stiil stand on my identity (my religion), and I open to others (other religions) as partners in my life. Religious pluralism, here, is defined as a way of life with others to live together, to work together, and to make our life better as a member of society.

Abstract

Kalau mau jujur, teologi mengenai Gereja mengangkat dan menerangi hidup umat. Namun, bagaimana teladan mereka yang membentuk awal Gereja dan sampai sekarang ini menentukan perutusan murid-murid, Kristus di dunia ini? Kalau mau realistis, eklesiologi harus berangkat dari tantangan hidup dewasa ini dan dari kemampuan mereka yang berbakti pada Tuhan. Namun, bagaimana dengan identitas Gereja yang terungkap dalam konsili (terutama Konsili Vatihan II)? Yang mewujudkan iman karena memikul beban hidup beriman di dunia ialah orang awam yang hidup dalam dunia. Namun, bagaimana dengan magisterium hierarki yang berperan untuk mengarahkan penghayatan iman? Jemaat kristiani yang nyata adalah mereka yang, entah di tempat mana, berkumpul dalam perjamuan Tuhan. Namun, bagaimana dengan Gereja katolik yang mesti mempersatukan semua dalam pengakuan iman yang sama? ternyata hidup Gereja dan teologi mengenai Gereja berkembang dalam keteganggan.
