Abstract

Analisis pragmalinguistik tentang partikel phatic sebagai entitas linguistik dalam teks Doa Bapa Kami menghasilkan suatu pemahaman yang lebih baik dari sekedar melulu analisis linguistik. Konteks situasional yang menyangkut juga unsur-unsur eksternal dari linguistik memungkinkan penutur menafsirkan teks Doa Bapa Kami yang mengandung partikel phatic -lah dan -pun dengan berbagai cara. Tuturan yang sama, yang pada suatu saat tertentu dipahami sebagai mengandung permintaan (requesting), pada saat yang lain bisa berarti permohonan (supplicating). Tuturan yang lain, yang pada kali yang satu mengandung pengharapan (hoping), pada kali yang lain bisa berarti permohonan (begging). Dengan menafsirkan makna pragmatik dari suatu tuturan, pembicara atau penutur bisa berkomunikasi dengan Allah dalam doa secara lebih intim dan intens lebih dari sekedar mendoakannya sebagai sesuatu rutinitas belaka.

Abstract

In Islamic tradition, Muhammad is believed to be a prophet; and his prophethood was proved with a miracle in the form of ijaz al-Quran. This means that anyone was challenged to bring something like the Quran at the level of its eloquence, and yet no one was able to do it. The prophethood of Muhammad was then transmitted from one generation to another generation by his followers, through the Islamic history, from the 2nd till the 4th or 5th centuries of the Hijriah. The report of the words and deeds of the Prophet Muhammad is called hadith. Two main components of a hadith are the chain of transmitters (sanad) and the content or material of the hadith (matn). In fact, the study of hadith criticism should pay attention to those two components in balance. Apart from it, the study of hadith can also provide a room for building an interreligious encounter, both in theological and spiritual senses.

Abstract

Industrialized society has been greatly driven by major economical and political powers. Science and technology, human resources, competition, social welfare, political participation and tolerance are widely discussed topics. Meanwhile "non-commercial" issues such as human dignity, love, justice, solidarity and social responsibility have been very much down-toned. Pragmatism was introduced consistently and through the insistence of massmedia propaganda a new way of life was born with marks of materialism, hedonism, consumerism and individualism. Undermining others and reality of the progressive natural destruction show the existence of the so-called culture of death". Sadly, injustice and violence have been globalized. Amid these situations, love, justice and social responsibility have to be reflected seriously and reintroduced.

Abstract

Maurice Blondel, born in Dijon, Paris, November 2, 1891, was one among thegreatest philosophers of the twenty century. In his philosophy of action hewas developing classic Neo-Platonism and modern Pragmatism in one contextof Christian philosophy. His most concern was to overcome the old splitbetween faith and reason. In his lAction (1893) he bridged the gap betweentheory and praxis, which was once created by Kant. Action is the key term inhis philosophy, for it is precisely the very bridge that unites between the two.Action is vinculum subtantiale (substansial chain) which bind ideas or thought,which is in mind and facts, which exists outside. Yet he convinced also thataction itself never satisfies the quench of man. The need of man is unlimitedand would only be met by the perfecting action which is God Himself.

Abstract

Bagaimana komunitas kristiani yang lahir dari peristiwa kebangkitan Kristus, dari masa ke masa tetap setia pada pengalaman dasarnya itu? Bagaimana dijelaskan dinamika internalnya sebagai pendengar Sabda Allah dan sekaligus sebuah komunitas historis yang mengalami perubahan? Komunitas kristiani dari masa ke masa mewartakan kabar gembira Yesus Kristus yang menyelamatkan dan berkembang dengan aneka macam tradisi yang sebagian lebih menekankan ciri kelembagaannya, kharisma para pemimpinnya atau pun kepatuhan kepada Roh Kudus atau Sabda Allah saja. Tulisan ini ingin mengulas pengalaman dasar dan dinamika komunitas para murid Yesus ini terutama sebagai pendengar Sabda, serta sarana-sarana organisatoris bagi pelestariannya seperti ajaran dan perayaan iman serta kuasa mengajar.

Democracy or government by and for the people requires some form ofrepresentation and must bring the people to the welfare society. Welfare society isnot only how to fulfill the basic needs of the people but also how to empower theconducive interaction and relationship among them. For this reason, democracytakes freedom and justice to be the basic ideal for living together. Freedom andjustice will grow the personal responsibility in a society. This essay is an attemptto revive the importance and the essence of a democratic system in our societynowadays.
