Abstract

A reliable pipeline design requires hydrodynamic analysis. The analysis enables flow rate and pressure gradient investigations in obtaining an optimum configuration. In the other hand, a numerical approach occurs as a complex schematic is proposed. Solving this requirement, an iterative method is posible to be endorsed. This study aims to investigate single-phase gas pipeline hydrodynamic analysis. A model utilized a two-phase pressure gradient correlation, namely Beggs-Brill correlation, to converse single-phase gas pressure gradients into mass flow rates. Furthermore, the numerical method, called Newton-Raphson, is assesed on solving those iterative calculations. The results show that the model is able to solve a complex schematic. The mass flow rates obtain in the deviation up to 0.4 %, whereas the pressure gradients deviation is achieved on a higher value.

Abstract

Teknologi multimedia merupakan Salah satu teknologi yang ditawarkan dalam media pembelajaran alternatif untuk dimanfaatkan dalam dunia pendidikan saat ini. Hardcopy yang digunakan dalam Proses Belajar Mengajar terkadang menyulitkan pelaku pendidikan dalam hal mengakses dan menerima informasi secara cepat dan realtime, sehingga memunculkan ide untuk mengembangkan materi pelajaran dalam bentuk multimedia, yang akan memudahkan pendidik dan peserta didik dalam menjalankan aktivitas dalam PMB. Kejenuhan belajar akan muncul Apabila pendidik selalu menggunakan metode yang konvensional secara terus menerus dan tanpa ada variasi, karena tidak ada warna baru dalam PBM. Implikasi dari metode belajar secara konvensional yang digunakan oleh tenaga pendidik, menunjukkan bahwa 20% atau lebih peserta didik kurang antusias dan berminat mempelajari materi, 35% atau lebih peserta didik kurang mempunyai inisiatif untuk mencari atau memperdalam wawasan melalui referensi lain selain yang diberikan oleh tenaga pendidik. Permasalahan lain adalah, ketersediaan sumber belajar di perpustakaan sangat minim, sehingga materi yang didapat pun kurang up to date. Hal ini semakin memperkuat permasalahan kurang berminat dan rendahnya inisiatif peserta didik dalam proses belajar mengajar.Pada penelitian ini, dikembangkan multimedia dan pemodelan multimedia yang dapat meningkatkan Self Motivated Learning dan  Self Regulated Learning dengan menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan research and development, dan analisi akhir dilakukan pengujian dengan bantuan SPSS.Model digitalisasi media pembelajaran ini mampu membuat peserta didik menjadi tertarik untuk belajar secara aktif dan mandiri.

Abstract

One application of direct evaporation cooling system was a natural refrigerator. The advantages of this natural refrigerator was operating without using electrical energy or mechanical energy and environmentally friendly. This study aims to gain a performance analysis of natural refrigerator as a store of vegetables and fruits which uses water as the cooling medium. Material of natural refrigerator consists of teak wood and gunny. Experiments were conducted during seven days in the open space which exposure to solar radiation. The measurement of weather parameter  was done by using HOBO devices and to record temperature changes of vegetables and fruits in the natural refrigerator was used acquisition data. The results showed that the efficiency of natural refrigerator maximum that can be obtained was 14.7% with an average air temperature of 25,55oC, air humidity average of 91.34% and an average solar radiation of 108.45 W/m2. The experimental data showed that the freshness of vegetables and fruits heavily influenced by weather conditions.

Abstract

Social media is the application of information technology that has revolutionized the tourism business. The role of social media in the tourism business has been able to change the pattern of tourism businesses, even small to facilitate tourism industry to compete. However, this situation has not received an adequate response from the Indonesian tourism industry represented by the ICT readiness index is still low. This shows that the capability of human resources in the use of ICT including social media applications are still low. For that we need an approach that is able to increase literacy social media for the tourism industry, particularly small scale industries such as tourism village. Tourism Village has a unique characteristic among the tourism industry. Village tourism industry based on strong social capital among industry players tourist village. So that the process of improving the management capacity of rural tourism situation should be able to tune the social environment of rural tourism for the purpose of social media literacy peningkatana capacity can be achieved. The approach of participatory action research is considered in accordance with the characteristics of a tourist village. Involvement of researchers and research subjects in the process of improving literacy social media, especially during the process of mentoring and reflection are considered to help achieve the objectives of the study.

Abstract

This research was conducted in fishmeal processing companies in North Sumatera. The production process are sorting, washing, heating, pressing, drying, milling and packaging. Heating, pressing, and drying has the smallest capacity work station which is 1 ton per hour, while the washing station is 4 ton per hour, lead to bottleneck. Stop Watch Time study used to measure working elements’ cycle time in each work station during the 10 days of observation. Observation data tested by uniformity and adequacy test before determining standard time of working process. Demand for a year later is predicted using cyclical method so that capacity requirement can be obtained from that prediction and standard time of process. Theory of Constraint (TOC) is used to solve the bottleneck. Research showed that data measured are uniform and adequate; while constraint are found at the heating, pressing, and drying work station due to smaller capacity. That constraints can be solved by using five steps of TOC which obtained four alternative solutions, which is work load adjustment, overtime, addition of shifts or addition of machines. Alternatives for work load adjustment and addition of machines are not feasible after calculating them. Feasible alternatives are overtime and addition of shifts, which lead to cost consequences between them. Recommendation from this research is addition of shifts from 2 to 3 shifts per day to increased capacity for each heating, pressing and drying stations because they have the lower cost consequences.

Abstract

People with damaged or injured plexus brachialisneed immediate therapy after the surgery, as an effort to restore the nerves function, even thou it is hard to achieve. But, continuous treatment may prevent the muscle to become stiff and shrink. So, patient needs assistive device to be used at home for regular self therapy.Physical therapy method was chose to be developed in this research because of lower risk than electrical therapy. This assistive device is designed in two modes, manual and automatic, and it is limited to fingers movement of adult’s right hand. Manual mode is focusing to 1 finger movement, while automatic mode will move the five fingers consecutively. The movement procedure is imitated those given in the clinic, by controlling the speed and angle rotation of a dc servo motor and certain design of lever for each finger.This assistive device works effectively for a certain fingers size. It takes 5.29 sec to finish one cycle in automatic mode, and about 2 sec in manual mode. The degree of finger movement yield by the device is about 20 degree less than finger maximum ROM for MCP and PIP joint of index finger, pinky, and thumb.

Abstract

Utilization Learning Management System in college used to improve learning services to students. The purpose of this study to examine the variables and indicators that affect the success of LMS systems with exelsa USD as a case study. The model used in this study was adapted from the model of success of DeLone-McLean. Questionnaires were distributed to the students and the samples taken by stratified random sampling, and obtained 448 respondents. Data were processed using Structured Equation Modeling, and conducted tests on the measurement model and the model structure. The variables used in this study is the quality system, the quality of information, emakaian, user satisfaction, individual impact and organizational impact. From the results of this study showed that the quality system and quality of existing information on LMS exelsa very influential on the use and satisfaction of users, the use of the system is not felt by the wearer have a positive impact on the individual, but the satisfaction in use that have a positive impact on individuals, as well as the individual impact seen also influence / impact positively on the organization (in this case the university).
