Abstract

This research was conducted in fishmeal processing companies in North Sumatera. The production process are sorting, washing, heating, pressing, drying, milling and packaging. Heating, pressing, and drying has the smallest capacity work station which is 1 ton per hour, while the washing station is 4 ton per hour, lead to bottleneck. Stop Watch Time study used to measure working elements’ cycle time in each work station during the 10 days of observation. Observation data tested by uniformity and adequacy test before determining standard time of working process. Demand for a year later is predicted using cyclical method so that capacity requirement can be obtained from that prediction and standard time of process. Theory of Constraint (TOC) is used to solve the bottleneck. Research showed that data measured are uniform and adequate; while constraint are found at the heating, pressing, and drying work station due to smaller capacity. That constraints can be solved by using five steps of TOC which obtained four alternative solutions, which is work load adjustment, overtime, addition of shifts or addition of machines. Alternatives for work load adjustment and addition of machines are not feasible after calculating them. Feasible alternatives are overtime and addition of shifts, which lead to cost consequences between them. Recommendation from this research is addition of shifts from 2 to 3 shifts per day to increased capacity for each heating, pressing and drying stations because they have the lower cost consequences.

Abstract

This study was conducted at a factory producing construction and building materials such as ready mix concrete, piles, udit concrete, and ryol.  These products are produced in almost the same process, but on different production lines.  There are 2 operators in the frame reinforcement section for udit concrete production.  It is seen that the two operators have the same task but different results of their work, so that the production target is not achieved.  The workload analysis method is used to determine the operator's actual load.  Observation of activities is carried out by the work sampling method for 5 days.  In work sampling, work and idle activities of workers are observed at randomly selected times and the amount of production during observations is recorded.  From the study, it is known the ideal of actual load of each operator and the number of operators for the concrete frames reinforcement.  The results showed workload of operator 1 was 95.11% while workload of operator 2 was 107%.  The number of operators reinforcing concrete frames remains fixed for 2 people, but wage compensation needs to be given to operators 2 for excess workload refers to the amount of wages and provisions for overtime that are applicable in the company.

Abstract

UKM Mandiri Jaya is a community group effort that has not been economically productive, but has a strong desire to become an entrepreneur. Members of these SMEs are made up of economically weak communities. They have a very low income. Daily necessities of life are obtained through farming and catfish farming. The effort is carried out on arable land and the home page. Agricultural products are sold, but are not able to meet the increasing needs. Catfish farming is also carried out on a small scale because it is constrained by the high price of feed on the market. With the aim to develop the business of fish farming, SMEs have been given fish seeds, materials and pellet making equipment and fish feed making machines. A fish feed machine is needed so that farmers can increase their income by utilizing existing ingredients as a fish feed composition. Partners have been trained so as to be able to make their own fish feed from quality ingredients and partners have the ability to use the machines provided. Through the feed produced by the use of a given machine, the better fish growth. More fish yields resulting in an increase in income for these partners.

Abstract

The development of the CPO-producing industry provides great benefits for the CPO refining industry.CPO is used as the main raw material for refined derivative products such as oleopangan products (cooking oil,margarine, shortening) and oleochemicals (fatty acids, fatty alcohol, glycerine). A related problem is theinefficiency in the distribution network caused by the complexity of the existing system and related to the manytypes or product variants that must be integrated in shipping. The aim of this research was to design a flexiblesupply chain network for domestic palm oil refined products using a soft computing approach with a geneticalgorithm. The simulation results using GA showed that the optimal solution completion time of themathematical model only takes 57 seconds. The optimization of the model that has been formulated was tested incases where the results were measured by the variables of the number of products distributed, distribution flowin the supply chain network, minimum cost (Z), and network facilities. The design was also tested by verificationof the optimization model by correcting errors in the model until the model produces a feasible solution andvalidating the optimization model to experts through the Association of Indonesian Palm Oil Entrepreneurs(GAPKI) North Sumatra, the Medan Palm Oil Research Center (PPKS) and Public Appraisal ServiceConsultants that often handles problems in the oil palm sector. According to experts, the designed modelrepresented the real situation so that it can be said that the model has been validated. The design is flexiblebecause it is able to meet the existing demand with utilities above 100% for 9 periods at a cost of Rp630,892,386.Keywords: multi-product, CPO refinery supply chain, genetic algorithm, optimization, flexible supply chainnetwork design

Abstract

Salah satu indikator kinerja produksi dari industri manufaktur pembuatan lorry adalah waktu siklus yang diperlukan untuk menyelesaikan satu unit lorry. Waktu siklus pembuatan lorry pada lantai pabrik di Bengkel Pusat PT. Perkebunan Nusantara II pada umumnya lebih lama daripada waktu siklus yang seharusnya. Hal ini berkaitan dengan terjadinya waktu menunggu pada stasiun kerja perakitan lorry. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi waktu menunggu melalui upaya perbaikan pada lintasan produksi dengan menerapkan lean manufacturing, yaitu dengan menggunakan value stream mapping untuk mengidentifikasikan waste yang terjadi yaitu time waste. Hasil pemetaan dengan time stream mapping dilihat bahwa waktu siklus pembuatan satu unit lorry adalah 1538.457 menit dengan waktu menunggu hasil pengeboran di stasiun perakitan selama 942.731 menit. Perbaikan yang diusulkan adalah penerapan lean manufacturing melalui perbaikan lintasan produksi dengan mengubah lintasan pengeboran untuk mengisi Work In Process (WIP) plat samping lorry yang dibutuhkan pada stasiun kerja perakitan sehingga perakitan tidak harus menunggu selesainya pengeboran plat samping. Upaya perbaikan dengan mengadakan pengisian WIP untuk plat samping tersebut dapat mengurangi waktu menunggu selama  dari 942.731 menit menjadi 429.036 menit atau 27.88 % sehingga waktu siklus pembuatan satu unit lorry berkurang dari 1538.457 menit menjadi 1109.421 menit.

Abstract

Sistem distribusi  merupakan salah satu pilar yang penting dalam kelangsungan dan keberhasilan perusahaan. Oleh karena  itu diperlukan manajemen yang baik untuk mengatur sistem distribusi agar bekerja dengan baik. Kinerja sistem distribusi yang baik dapat dilihat dari ketersediaan barang pada setiap distribution center. Sistem distribusi di perusahaan tempat penelitian telah cukup baik dimana adanya sistem pencatatan yang terintegrasi dan terkomputerisasi dalam setiap aktivitas distribusi yang terjadi. Namun dalam hal penjadwalan aktivitas distribusi masih terjadi inefisiensi yang dapat diidentifikasi dari biaya transportasi sebesar 5,6 milyar rupiah per tahun. Metode yang digunakan untuk merancang perbaikan sistem distribusi adalah metode Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP). Metode ini dimulai dengan peramalan permintaan 1 tahun ke depan. Permintaan tersebut kemudian dialokasikan ke dalam DRP worksheet menggunakan software Cargowiz sehingga didapatkan jadwal perencanaan distribusi yang optimal.Dari hasil perancangan yang dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa dengan menerapkan DRP pada sistem distribusi perusahaan dapat diperoleh penghematan biaya transportasi sebesar 7,87%. Diharapkan dengan menggunakan sistem ini perusahaan dapat mengurangi biaya distribusinya dan proses distribusi produk menjadi semakin lancar

Abstract

. Pada era globalisasi ini, perusahaan dituntut untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan produktivitas dalam menghadapi persaingan yang semakin ketat. Peningkatan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan melakukan suatu perencanaan produksi dan kapasitas  yang terintegrasi sehingga dapat meningkatkan  kemampuan perusahaan dalam memenuhi tuntutan permintaan dan kualitas produk dari konsumen yang semakin kritis dalam memilih produk. Dalam menentukan rencana produksi dan kapasitas ini perlu dilakukan perhitungan permintaan untuk menyusun rencana produksi, perhitungan kapasitas tersedia, kapasitas yang dibutuhkan, serta langkah-langkah yang harus diambil terkait dengan pengaturan kapasitas agar perusahaan memiliki sumber daya yang cukup untuk mendukung rencana produksi tersebut. Metode perhitungan rencana kapasitas dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP). Dari hasil pengolahan yang dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa Work Center II pada lini produksi water based paint dan Work Center III pada lini produksi solvent based paint mengalami bottleneck dan menjadi constraint pada kemampuan produksi perusahaan secara keseluruhan. Akibatnya, kapasitas tersedia pada lini produksi water based paint  pada periode Januari, Februari, September, Oktober, November, dan Desember 2013 tidak mencukupi. Kondisi ini juga terjadi pada lini produksi solvent based paint yaitu pada periode November dan Desember 2013. Antisipasi terhadap kondisi tersebut dilakukan dengan melakukan pengaturan kapasitas yaitu dengan memindahkan beban produksi dari periode yang telah mencapai batas sumber daya perusahaan ke periode dimana sumber daya yang dimiliki berlebih. Dari hasil pengaturan kapasitas, diketahui bahwa kapasitas yang telah disediakan perusahaan masih mampu digunakan untuk memenuhi seluruh permintaan pada periode Januari sampai dengan Desember 2013.

Abstract

Pemakaian komputer dewasa ini semakin luas di segala bidang. Lamanya penggunaankomputer dianjurkan tidak lebih dari 4 jam sehari. Apabila melebihi waktu tersebut, mata cenderungmengalami kelelahan. Kelelahan mata tersebut akan meningkat apabila kualitas pencahayaan diruang kerja tersebut kurang baik. PT. XYZ adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dalam pengolahanproduk makanan ternak, dimana sebagian besar proses produksi dijalankan oleh mesin. Prosesproduksi tersebut diatur dan diawasi oleh 3 operator melalui komputer di dalam ruang kontrolselama 7 jam kerja. Setiap operator bekerja mengamati display dari 4 monitor. Pada penelitian awal,tingkat pencahayaan pada ruang kontrol PT. XYZ bekisar antara 21-65 Lux. Pencahayaan tersebuttidak memenuhi standar Kepmenkes Nomor 1405/MENKES/SK/XI/2002 yang merekomendasikansebesar 300 lux. Beberapa keluhan kelelahan mata yang didapat dari wawancara dengan operatoryaitu operator merasakan keluhan penglihatan seperti berkabut, mata perih dan mata seringberkedip. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh pencahayaan terhadapkelelahan mata operator, dan memperbaiki pencahayaan sesuai dengan standar kebutuhan kerja.Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif karena dilakukan pengukuran langsung terhadap iluminasi sumbercahaya dan luminansi dari monitor dengan menggunakan instrumen lux meter serta kelelahan matadengan instrumen fliker fusion. Metode penelitian bersifat deskriptif korelasional, yaitu untukmendapatkan gambaran mengenai tingkat pencahayaan ruang kontrol dan dibandingkan denganstandar yang sudah ditetapkan, serta mengkaji keterkaitan antara faktor iluminasi dan luminansiterhadap kelelahan mata operator. Hasil perhitungan korelasi antara tingkat iluminasi dan luminansikelelahan mata menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang rendah, hal ini menunjukkan bahwailuminasi dan luminansi bukan faktor dominan penyebab kelelahan mata.

Abstract

In this era of globalization, many companies are paying special attention to efficiency, effectiveness and productivity to be able to see the use of its resources in an optimal and achievements against targets. PT XYZ has a large human resource as many as 296 employees and 290 outsourced staffs. However, in some common functions of delays in the completion of the report/assignment. So that the necessary analysis and appropriate approach to analyze the workload of employees so as to optimize the use of employee time and human resources efficiency. The methods which used to analyze the workload of PT XYZ employees by using the Subjective Workload Assessment Technique (SWAT) and the Work Sampling.The results SWAT indicate that Time Load factor (T), which predominantly affects the function of employee workload Legal, External Relations and HSSE. To assistant Manager External Relations and Customer Relation assistant Physicological Stress factor(S) is more influentiall in his work. As for the assisstant Industrial Hygiene factors Mental Effort (E) which influences his work. Each employee mental burden is on high and medium category. Based on the results of work sampling showed that most employees functionality Legal, External Relations and HSSE nonproductive activities during work hours exceeding allowance given. Only assistant Industrial Hygiene to harness the full working time for productive activities. Based on the results of the study are expected workload companies can do the division of tasks and allocation of employees better.
