Abstract

In general, the present attendance system is using a paper  file containing the signature column of the participating students and lecturers of the course. The problem that arises is the presence of signature due to the student's absence. Students in one sem ester must attend lectures as much as 75% of meetings held lecturers as the requirement to take the final exam of the semester. Student attendance calculations take a relatively long time for each course. For that in this research made  cource attendance system based on radio frequency identification (RFID) and fingerprint. As RFID card used e -ID card.  The result  showed that the maximum e-KTP card reading distance of 2 cm and fingerprint ID reading with time between 1.945 to 2.227 seconds. The  success rate of reading e-KTP card and fingerprint ID is 100%. The overall test of attendance system shows 100% success rate. Presence data is displayed in the GUI and stored in database and exported in .xls format.Keywords: RFID, Fingerprint, Presence, Visual Basic 6.0, MySQL, Arduino Mega 2560

Abstract

Means of public health is a component in accelerating the improvement of public health degree. Hospitals as health facilities have a very strategic role in providing quality services in accordance with established standards and can reach the whole community. One installation that needs improvement is the quality of instalasai Hemodialysis. The number of patients is increasing every year must be accompanied by improvement of quality of service installation. Based on observations, there were some complaints of patients on hemodialysis installation services. This study intends to improve the quality of care in hemodialysis installations by crafting needs hemodialysis machine design using Kansei Engineering, as well as the application of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and TRIZ. Kansei Engineering is used to ensure that a service fulfills the desired emotional response. Subsequently used QFD to improve customer satisfaction by improving the quality of services installation hemodialysis. Results of QFD point to contradictions, namely repair and maintenance service of the machine with the alert medics and repair and maintenance of the machine with the cleanliness and comfort of installation. The results showed that the installation of Hemodialysis Patients in fact want a friendly atmosphere of doctors, nurses, and the reception clerk and the condition of hemodialysis machines and devices work properly.

Abstract

 Criminality is a social problem causing negative impacts on society welfare. Police as law enforcement officer was required to take actions to prevent criminality which was increasingly widespread. Such efforts could be realized by analizing criminal data to obtain useful information for the preparation of criminal prevention strategies. However, extracting knowledge from criminal data effectively was a problematique for them. In this study, data mining was used to solve knowledge extraction problem from the dataset. The technique was aimed to get information about crime patternsby analyzing criminal activity habits. Association rule mining and apriori algorithm were used to find crime patterns. Generating crime patterns in data mining was difficult to understand when there were too many rules. Graph based visualization of association rules designed to solve that problem. Generated visualization showed relationship between crimes. That visualization was expected to help the police to understand the crime pattern so they could do prevention efforts more effectively. The results showed that the visualization of association rules could present association rules in more interesting way and described the crime pattern.

Abstract

A common way to increase the efficiency of distillation of solar energy is by cooling the cover glass. The method of cooling glass that is widely studied is the spray method. Spray method still has a weakness that is not the  entire surface of the glass can be wetted cooling water. The water reservoir method allows wettage of the entire surface of the cover glass so that the cooling process can be better. This study aims to increase the efficiency of the distillation of solar  energy water by cooling the cover glass using a water reservoirs method. Parameters varied during this experimental stage are: the cooling water mass rate. Parameters measured were: (1) absorber temperature, (2) cover glass temperature, (3) cooling water temperature, (4) input water temperature, (5) ambient air temperature, (6) distilled water, 7) solar energy coming and (8) data recording time. The conclusions of this study were: the largest distillate water yield obtained was 3.26 liter / (hari.m2) with an average efficiency of 41.0%. Distilled water yield and best efficiency are obtained at cooling water rate of 7.1 liter / hour. The temperature difference between the absorber and the largest glass is 11.4°CKeywords: cooling, water distillation, solar energy, water reservoirs

Abstract

ABC Company is a company producing rubber crumb (crumb rubber) in the form of bales with quality SIR 5, SIR 10, and SIR 20. The processing is done consists of several work stations that are continuous. Scheduling the work force in the company is considered less precise in providing holidays and working time, because hiring labor for 7 business days to achieve the production target and exceed 40 hours worked during the week. This is not in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia No.102/MEN/IV/2004 and Law of the Republic of Indonesia No.13 of 2003 on Manpower. So it is necessary to apply a good scheduling system for labor production process, one of the laborscheduling algorithm is to use Monroe. The manpower requirements for the entire production process is as many as 73 people. With the labor scheduling in PT.ABC still can work to meet production targets without disrupting weekday though individual workers get a day off two consecutive days alternately. Another advantage in labor scheduling algorithm Monroe with the company is able to minimize labor costs Rp.232.200.000/year.

Abstract

Babel Routing Protocol was designed by Juliuz Chrobozcek and its written specification was published in RFC 6126 in April 2014. Babel is one of distance vector routing protocols that has its own distinctive features. Although it sends updates periodically to its neighbours, it also sends triggered updates whenever it detects its neighbour’s changes. The changes can include broken links and new link detections. Babel route selection process is also unique, because there are feasibility condition requirements to ensure that the routing loop does not exist during the routing process. Unified Modelling Language (UML) is a modelling language widely used in software engineering. Its popularity is based on its capability to express and describe different aspects of a software. Activity diagram is one of the UML models to describe the flow activity of a software execution. It answers and explains situations like the different states that the flow can reach and the prerequisite to reach the next states. On the other hand, transition systems describe the transition state of the running software. When a software is executed, we have to keep track of the state of the software. We need to describe how state can jump from one to anotherstate and what requirements to do the transition from one state to another one.It will be helpful inthe debugging process laterwhen some errors occur. However, the transition system can be derived from the activity diagram that has described the software flow. This researchis conducted to give more understanding about the flow of the route selection process in Babel Routing Protocol and describe the flow in the activity diagram and further define it with a transition system.

Abstract

This research trained Deep Convolutional Networks(ConvNets)  to classify hand-written Pallava alphabet.    The  Deep ConvNets  architecture consists of two  convolutional layers, each  followed by maxpooling layer,    two  Fully-Connected layers.  It had  442.602  parameters.  This model classified  660 imagesof hand-written Pallava alphabet into 33 diferent classes.  To make training faster, this research  used GPU implementation with 384  CUDA  cores. Two different techniques were implemented, Stochastic Gradient Descent  (SGD)  and Adaptive Gradient, each trained with 10, 20, 30 and 40 epoch. The best accuracy was 67,5%, achieved by the model with SGD technique trained at 30 epoch.Keywords: Deep ConvNets, Pallava, GPU, SGD

Abstract

This research was conducted in fishmeal processing companies in North Sumatera. The production process are sorting, washing, heating, pressing, drying, milling and packaging. Heating, pressing, and drying has the smallest capacity work station which is 1 ton per hour, while the washing station is 4 ton per hour, lead to bottleneck. Stop Watch Time study used to measure working elements cycle time in each work station during the 10 days of observation. Observation data tested by uniformity and adequacy test before determining standard time of working process. Demand for a year later is predicted using cyclical method so that capacity requirement can be obtained from that prediction and standard time of process. Theory of Constraint (TOC) is used to solve the bottleneck. Research showed that data measured are uniform and adequate; while constraint are found at the heating, pressing, and drying work station due to smaller capacity. That constraints can be solved by using five steps of TOC which obtained four alternative solutions, which is work load adjustment, overtime, addition of shifts or addition of machines. Alternatives for work load adjustment and addition of machines are not feasible after calculating them. Feasible alternatives are overtime and addition of shifts, which lead to cost consequences between them. Recommendation from this research is addition of shifts from 2 to 3 shifts per day to increased capacity for each heating, pressing and drying stations because they have the lower cost consequences.

Abstract

Social media is the application of information technology that has revolutionized the tourism business. The role of social media in the tourism business has been able to change the pattern of tourism businesses, even small to facilitate tourism industry to compete. However, this situation has not received an adequate response from the Indonesian tourism industry represented by the ICT readiness index is still low. This shows that the capability of human resources in the use of ICT including social media applications are still low. For that we need an approach that is able to increase literacy social media for the tourism industry, particularly small scale industries such as tourism village. Tourism Village has a unique characteristic among the tourism industry. Village tourism industry based on strong social capital among industry players tourist village. So that the process of improving the management capacity of rural tourism situation should be able to tune the social environment of rural tourism for the purpose of social media literacy peningkatana capacity can be achieved. The approach of participatory action research is considered in accordance with the characteristics of a tourist village. Involvement of researchers and research subjects in the process of improving literacy social media, especially during the process of mentoring and reflection are considered to help achieve the objectives of the study.
