Abstract

ABSTRAKSastra merupakan salah satu seni bahasa hasil karya manusia baik lisan dan non lisan. Melalui suatu karya sastra terkandung gagasan, ide, dan pikiran dengan gambaran-gambaran pengalaman. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa karya sastra merupakan cermin dari suatu masyarakat. Dalam penelitian karya sastra dan masyarakat, kebanyakan menggunakan teori pendekatan umum.Penelitian seperti ini masih kurang dilakukan, oleh karena itu penulis akan menganalisis salah satu karya sastra Jepang menggunakan objek kajian berupa novel dengan judul Nijuushi no Hitomi karya Sakae Tsuboi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan untuk memperoleh data yang menunjang penelitian. Membaca isi novel, mengumpulkan ungkapan-ungkapan yang berkaitan, selanjutnya di analisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan teknik karakterisasi dan pemikiran sosial.Laporan Akhir ini membahas mengenai karakterisasi Oishi sensei dan pemikiran sosial Oishi sensei kepada masyarakat dalam novel Nijuushi no Hitomi karya Sakae Tsuboi. Ditemukan hasilnya bahwa Oishi sensei memiliki 6 karakter, yaitu; ramah, berpenampilan modern, suka menolong, tidak sabar, baik dan berjiwa besar, mudah terharu dan bersedih. Sedangkan, pemikiran sosial yang diberikan Oishi sensei kepada masyarakat ada 3 hal, kepada penduduk desa, kepada murid-murid Oishi sensei dan kepada anak kandung Oishi sensei. Setiap pemikirannya memiliki cara pemahaman yang berbeda.Akhirnya, penulis berharap semoga makalah ini sedikitnya, dapat bermanfaat bagi pendikan bahasa Jepang .__________________________________________________________________Kata kunci : Oishi sensei, Karakter, Pemkiran sosial.

Abstract

This research entitled “Conjunction in English and Banggai Language (A Contrastive Analysis)”  is an attempt to contrast conjunction in both languages in terms of  form, function, and meaning in order to find out the similarities and differences between English and Banggai language. The problems of this research are what are the forms, functions, and meanings of conjunctions in English and Banggai language and to find out the similarities and differences between them. The purpose of this study is to identify, classify, and describe the forms, functions, and meanings of  conjunctions in English and Banggai language and to analyze the differences and similarities of conjunctions in these two languages. The method of this study is descriptive method. Theories that used are  Aarts and Aarts (1982), John and Yates (1982), and Lado (1972). Investigation has been done through the library and field research. The English data has been collected from some English grammatical books, linguistic books, and from internet whereas the Banggai data has been collected from the native informant speakers and the Bible written in Banggai language. The result shows that English and Banggai language have similarities and differences in forms and functions. In terms of form there is complex conjunction in English whereas in the Banggai language this case just found one conjunction based on the data obtained. In terms of function  English and Banggai has two main functions : coordinating conjunctions that connect word, phrase, clause and sentences are equivalent and subordinating conjunctions to link clauses and sentences are not equivalent, as well as the Banggai language also has that functions. In terms of meaning  both English and Banggai language have similarities. Keywords : Conjunction, English, Banggai language, form, function, meaning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is conducted in order to improve the writing skills of the grade eight students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Swasta Talangbatu Tangkiang by using a roundtable strategy. In conducting this research, the researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) as the method of research. This research consisted of two cycles and each cycle consisted of four steps, they were: Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. To collect and analyze the data, the researcher used the descriptive qualitative method. The qualitative data obtained by observing the teaching and learning process, interviewing the English teachers and the students of grade eight. The qualitative data were in the form of observation sheets, teaching journals and interview. The successful of criteria of this research were the students might be able to write the descriptive text through the successful of process. The results showed that the roundtable strategy can improve the students of eight grade of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Talangbatu Tangkiang’s writing skill on descriptive text. The improvements could be seen in the teaching and learning process, participations, enthusiasm, understanding the material of descriptive text, and classroom circumstances became better.   Keywords : CAR, Roundtable Strategy, Writing, Descriptive Text, Junior High School.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTh  coverage of pragmatics presupposition include, speecs act and deixis, in the reaserch, thewriter focuses on one of the the categorie of pragmatics namely presupposition in the film Robosapien : Rebooted by Sean McNamara. The purpose of the reaserch in an attempt to reaserch  indentify and  to classify  the type of presupposition in the film : Robosapien : Rebooted by Sean  McNamara. In collect  the data the writer taken the relevan data trough  the conversation away characters utterance in the movie. Then the writer analyzes the collected data descriptively by Djadjasudarma and in analysis data by using the theory of George Yule. The findings of  this research  shows that presupposition by Yule can be categorized into six types which are : existensial presupposition, factive presupposition, lexical presupposition, structural presupposition, non-factive presupposition, and counterfactual presupposition. the structural presupposition is not used in this film.Keywords : Pragmatic, Presupposition, Robosapien : Rebooted.

Abstract

ABSTRACT “My Sister’s Keeper” is one of the Jodie Picoult’s masterpieces that was chosen as the object of the writer’s research. This research entitled, “Anna Fitzgerald’s Conflicts in the Novel My Sister’s Keeper by Jodie Picoult aims to identify Anna Fitzgerald’s inner and physical conflicts in the story, and the cause and effects to Anna Fitzgerald. The writer used Buehler’s theory (1998) dealing with conflict style to analyze the inner and physical conflicts of Anna Fitzgerald in the novel. In addition to Wellek and Warren’s theory (1964) was used to find the relation of literature and psychological aspect by analyzing the causes of the conflict and effects to Anna Fitzgerlad which are successfully depicted by Jodie Picoult in her novel My Sister’s Keeper. The data were collected from the novel focusing on conflicts by identifying inner and physical conflicts, and the cause and effects to Anna Fitzgerald. The identified data were analyzed by using intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. The Intrinsic approach was used to analyze the plot of the story and the character of Anna Fitzgerald. The extrinsic approach was used to analyze the psychological aspect in this case cause and effect to Anna Fitzgerald. The result of this research reveals that Anna Fitzgerald as the main character in the novel My Ssiter’s Keeper experiences two types of conflicts; inner conflict and physical conflict that affected her life; this inner and physical conflicts are caused by her sister’s illness that leads to physical, psychological, or mental effects on Anna Fitzgerald and also her behavior.

Abstract

ABSTRAK  Makalah ini dibuat untuk menjelaskan tentang bagaimana pembagian pemakaian partikel dake dan shika, meskipun dalam penggunaan partikel dake dan shika bermakna sama, tetapi struktur kalimatnya yang berbeda. Jika struktur kalimatnya tidak tepat, maka maknanya juga akan keliru. Sehingga dalam kenyataan yang ditemui tidak sedikit pembelajar bahasa Jepang keliru dan mengalami kesulitan dalam menggunakan partikel dake dan shika dalam penggunaannya. Disini penulis akan menjelaskan tentang bagaimana penggunaan partikel dake dan shika dalam kalimat bahasa Jepang dan bagaimana persamaan dan perbedaan partikel dake dan shika dalam kalimat bahasa Jepang. Teknik dan metode yang penulis gunakan yaitu metode deskriptif dan metode komparatif. Dari hasil penilitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan partikel dake dan shika dalam kalimat bahasa Jepang ada persamaan dan perbedaannya, yaitu dake dan shika membatasi suatu hal, waktu, jumlah dan hubungan sebab akibat. Dapat juga saling menggantikan dalam konteks kalimat tertentu yang menunjukan pembatasan atas suatu hal, dake juga dapat digunakan bersama predikat positif maupun negatif, dan dapat digunakan bersama shika yang menyatakan makna menegaskan suatu hal dan shika hanya dapat digunakan bersama predikat negatif saja, dan menyatakan penyangkalan terhadap suatu hal. Dengan hasil penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat bagi  para pembelajar bahasa Jepang.   要 旨 この小論文 しょうろんぶん は日本語の「だけ」と「しか」の使 つかい方 かたについて説明 せつめいするために作 つくっています。「だけ」と「しか」は同じ意味 いみ を持っています。しかし、文の構成 こうせいが違 ちがいます。文の作り方がわからなければ、文の意味 いみ も間違 まちが ってしまいます。実際 じっさいには、「だけ」と「しか」の使い方についてまだ分からない学生 がたくさんいると思います。ここでは、「だけ」と「しか」の使い方について、そして、「だけ」と「しか」の相違 そうい について説明します。研究方法は、記述法 と対照法です。  3 データを分析した結果、「だけ」と「しか」の使い方では、相違点 そういてん があることがわかりました。「だけ」と「しか」両方 りょうほう ともあること、時 とき、数 かず、それと因果関係 いんがかんけい を制限 せいげんすることです。文の中では特定 とくていの文脈両方 ぶんみゃくりょうほう で交代 こうたいすることができます。「だけ」は固定文 こていぶん と否定文 ひていぶん 使うことができます。また、「しか」と一緒 いっしょに確認 かくにんを表すために使うことができます。それに対して、「しか」は否定形 ひていけい の述語 じゅつごと一緒のみ使うこととある事項について否定 ひてい することです。この説明が学生のために役 やくに立 たつように願 ねがっています。

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penulisan ini mengambil topik tentang Sejarah Kelurahan Batulubang di Pulau Lembeh 2007-2015 . Dalam penulisan ini penulis menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu: heuristik, kritik analisa, interpretasi, dan tahap terakhir ialah historiografi. Selain penulis menggunakan metode sejarah, dalam hal ini penulis juga menggunakan ilmu sosial sebagai alat bantu untuk memungkinkan penganalisaan dan penginterpretasian yang lebih tajam untuk menjawab apa yang menjadi masalah dalam suatu penulisan. Kelurahan Batulubang merupakan Kelurahan yang cukup berkembang. Karena yang pertama kali yang masuk di desa Batulubang adalah masyarakat sangihe, setiap tahun perkembanganya sangat pesat karena disebabkan banyak pendatang yang awalnya menangkap ikan lama- kelamaan mereka mulai berdominsili di kelurahan Batulubang. jadi kelurahan Batulubang, merupakan suatu alasan bagi penulis untuk menulis sejarah perkembangannya. Melakukan identifikasi dan penelitian, penulis mendapat kesimpulan Kelurahan Batulubang awalnya adalah wilayah perkebunan. Kemudian masuk etnis Sangihe, dan Perkembangan selanjutnya pada bidang Pendidikan, tingkat kependudukan, Keadaan sosial dan Budaya. Kata Kunci : Perkembangan, Desa/Kelurahan, Batulubang di Pulau Lembeh 2007-2015

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research, entitled “Sosial Segregation in I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou focuses on the sosiological issue as an extrinsic aspect in literature particularly in prose. The writer decides to use the autobiographical novel by Maya Angelou as the object of this research because of the strong theme and atmosphere of sosiological issue depicted in it. The problem of this research is the social segregation as a discriminative action by one superior social community toward another inferior social community. The writer uses the theory of sociology in literature by Alan Swingewood as the basis to analyze the problem of this research. The result of this research shows that Maya Angelou used her childhood life story through inter-character dialogues and her narrative to depict the social segregation in her autobiographical novel which is also her social criticism. Through this research, the readers are expected to understand about the segregation and discriminative actions particularly in racism, because those actions still exist even in this modern era.   Keywords : Autobiographical Novel, Maya Angelou, Social Segregation, Discrimination

Abstract

ABSTRACT              This study entitled “The Interrogative Sentence in the Film Man of Steel by David S. Goyer”, is aimed at identifying and analyzing the interrogative sentences found in the film. The data have been collected by focusing on the conversation among the characters in the film and analyzed based on Frank and Aarts and Aarts’ concepts. Interrogative sentence is a sentence that contains subject and open with an auxiliary verb or a wh-word. Interrogative sentence which is open with an auxiliary verb is called yes/no question and another type of  yes/no question that consist of statement appended to the question is called question tag. The result shows that there are three forms of interrogative sentence in English used in the film, those are yes/no question, tag question and interrogative-word question. Yes /No question can be answered by yes/no, tag question is a question that is added at the end of sentence, interrogative-word question begins  with a question word such as : what, who, why, when, where, how, whom or which. In this film the characters  use interrogative sentence without a question word but with rising intonation. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is an attempt to describe and analyze the English and Tanimbar language which focuces on the interrogative sentences in relation to their form and function in both languange based on Aarts and Aarts theory’s and to compare using by Lado’s theory.The English and Tanimbar Language are two languages from different language families. English it is included in Indo-European and Tanimbar Language it is included in Austronesian one. Each of them has its own characteristics.The English data have been collected from books, whereas the data of Tanimbar language have been collected by interviewing some informants using contrastive analysis approach the data are then analyzed and described.The result shows that forms of  interrogative sentences in English are yes-no question, tag question and interrogative-word question while in Tanimbar language has two forms such as in yes-no question and interrogative word question. English and Tanimbar language have similarities, in the form of yes-no question and interrogative word question. The difference in English question word is at the beginning of sentence and Tanimbar language at the beginning and the end of sentence.   Keywords : Interrogative Sentences, English and Tanimbar Language, Contrastive          Analysis.       Analysis.
