Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research entitled “Afiks Infleksi pada Lirik Lagu Karya Bruno Mars dalam Album Doo-Wops & Hooligans”. It is written to identify, classify and analyze the forms and the functions of inflectional affixes in the lyrics of Bruno Mars’ album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The method that used in this research is the descriptive method, and the data of inflectional affixes were taken from album Doo-Wops & Hooligans by means of identifying and classifying them according to their form and function. The data have been analyzed using the theory of O’ Grady and Dobrovolsky. The forms and functions of the inflectional affixes that have been found in the lyrics of Bruno Mars’ album Doo-Wops & Hooligans are {-s/-es} which function as plural, {’s} which functions as possessive, {-s/-es} which function as 3rd person singular, {-ing} which functions as progressive, {-ed} which functions as past tense, {-ed/-en} which function as past participle, and {-er} which functions as comparative. There is no allomorph /-iz/ found in plural {-es} and 3rd person singular {-es}, there is also no allomorph /-t/ and /-id/ in past participle {-ed} that found in the lyrics of Bruno Mars’ album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. Superlative {-est} is not found on this album. Progressive {-ing}, past participle {-en}, and comparative {-er} are not divided into several allomorph because they’re only have one allomorph, namely /-iŋ/, /-ən/, and /ər/. Possessive {’s} does not produce allomorph /-z/ when nouns end with allomorph /s/. Theoretically, this research is intended to add to the research of linguistic research, especially in the field of morphology about affixation. Practically, it is expected to be a comparative material for other researchers who will analyze the same thing in linguistic field, and can provide information to increase reader’s knowledge on linguistic especially inflectional affixes. _____________________Keywords: Inflectional Affixes, Morphology, Doo-Wops & Hooligans Album

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled “Conjunction in the Album 21 By Adele Adkins” is an attempt to found conjunction in terms of form, function and meaning in the songs. The purpose of this research is to describe, identify, and analyze the forms, functions and meaning of conjunctions in the songs. The theories used in this research are Aarts and Aarts (1982:44), John and Yates (1982:450), and Marcella Frank (1972:206). The investigation has been done through the library and field research. The data about conjunction in the songs are being collected from album 21 by Adele Adkins. The results shows that, there are nine simple conjunctions in the album 21 and those are and, if, that, but, or, until, for, as, why, yet, so and there are no findings for complex conjunction. In terms of function, there are coordinators and subordinators conjunction in the songs. Coordinators conjunction are and, but, or, yet, so and subordinators conjunction are that, as, for, until, if, why. In terms of the meaning of conjunction, the writer found 9 meanings from conjunction in the album 21 by Adele Adkins, there are conjunctions that shows the addition are and and yet, conjunction that shows the difference is but, conjunctions that shows cause and purpose are as and why, conjunction that cause requirement is if, conjunction indicates choices is or, conjunction that shows purpose is that, conjunction that show cause and result is for, conjunction that shows time is until and conjunction that shows the meaning of result is so.     Keywords : Conjunction, Album Adele 21, form, function, meaning

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research is entitled “Code Switching on Indonesian Tv Talk Show  Hitam Putih. The objective of this research is to identify, classify, and analyze the types and factor of code switching on this program. The data were elicited from five conversations between host and the guest star on Hitam Putih which were taken from youtube.  In analyzing the data, the writer uses the theory of Poplack (1980) to analyze the types of code switching and Fishman’s theory (1976) to find out the factor of code switching. Descriptive method is used in this research The result shows that the types of code switching found on this program are;Tag switching, Intrasentential switching,Intersentential switching and the factors that caused this code switching are; speaker, listener or opponent, the presence of a third person, change of subject. This research is expected to give a contribution in the study of sociolinguistics especially on the subject of code switching for the development of sociolinguistics at the Faculty of Humanities, Sam Ratulangi University and to help the readers or students to learn sociolinguistics,  especially to add their knowledge about code switching.  Keywords : Code Switching , Talk Show, Hitam Putih, Descriptive Analysis

Abstract

ABSTRACT 現在(げんざい)、日本語文法(にほんごぶんぽう)に関(かん)する研究(けんきゅう)が多(おお)くなったが、日本語(にほんご)の統語論(とうごろん)の類儀語(るいぎご)に関(かん)する「かえる」および「もどる」の研究(けんきゅう)はまだあまりなされていないようである。日本語の学習者(がくしゅうしゃ)にとって、日本語(にほんご)の類義語(るいぎご)の使(づか)い分(わ)け・意味(いみ)がちゃんと分(わ)からなければ、誤解(ごかい)になってしまうからである そこで本稿(ほんこう)は日本語(にほんご)の「かえる　および　もどる」という類意動詞(るいいどうし)の意味(いみ)および使(つか)い分(わ)け、に関(かん)して明(あき)らかにすることを目的(もくてき)とする。 本研究(ほんけんきゅう)のデータを集(あつ)める方法(ほうほう)は日本語の教書(きょうしょ)に載(の)せている例文(れいぶん)を集(あつ)めて、次(つぎ)にデディステディの類意(るいい)の理論(りろん)に基(もと)づいて分析(ぶんせき)する。それから、レポートを書(か)く際(さい)に記述的(きじゅつてき)の理論(りろん)に基(もと)づいて書(か)くことにする。 分析(ぶんせき)の際(さい)、以下の結果(けっか)を見(み)つけた。「かえる」と言う動詞(どうし)は『元(もと)の所(ところ)』が『以前存在(いぜんそんざい)した所(ところ)』ではあっても『本拠地(ほんきょち)』ではない場合(ばあい)、は『もどる』は使(つか)えるが「かえる」は使(つか)わない。又(また)、「元の所」が『本拠的(ほんきょてき)』ではあっても『以前存在(いぜんそんざい)したところ』でない場合(ばあい)は『帰る』は使(つか)えるが、『もどる』は使(つか)えない。最後(さいご)に、『元(もと)の所(ところ)』が『本拠地(ほんきょち)』であり、『以前存在(いぜんそんざい)した所(ところ)』でもある場合(ばあい)はどちらを用(もち)いても良(よ)い。 最後(さいご)はこの研究(けんきゅう)の成果(せいか)が日本語教育現場(にほんごきょういくげんば)に多少(たしょう)なりとも役立(やくた)てばと思(おも)っている。 Key Word: 日本語の文における「かえる」および「もどる」の意味つかいわけ ABSRAK Dewasa ini, penelitian mengenai Tata Bahasa Jepang sudah banyak di lakukan, tetapi penelitian tentang kata-kata yang mirip dalam bahasa Jepang masih kurang terutama penggunaan kata “kaeru” dan “modoru”. Bagi pembelajar Bahasa Jepang, pembagian pemakaian dan arti kata-kata yang serupa/mirip, jika tidak dipahami dengan baik, maka akan timbul salah kapra/salah mengerti. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bermaksud mencari tahu arti dan pembagian pemakaian kata-kata yang serupa yaitu “kaeru” dan “modoru”. Cara pengumpulan data penelitian ini yaitu mengambil contoh-contoh kalimat yang ada dalam buku teks selanjutnya di analisis menurut teorinya Dedi Sutedi, selanjutnya dalam penulisan laporan ini dipakai metode Deskriptif. Hasil analisis adalah sebagai berikut : Meskipun tempat asal sebagai tempat keberadaan sebelumnya, jika tempat tersebut bukan sebagai basis/markasnya, maka kata “modoru” bisa digunakan tetapi kata “kaeru” tidak bisa digunakan.Tempat asal, meskipun sebagai basis/markasnya, jika tempat tersebut bukan sebagai tempat keberadaan sebelumnya, maka “modoru” tidak bisa digunakan. Terakhir, tempat asal adalah sebagai basis/markasnya dan merupakan tempat keberadaan sebelumnya, maka “kaeru” maupun “modoru” bisa digunakan.   Akhirnya harapan saya semoga penelitian ini bermanfaat. Abstract

ABSTRACT The research is entitled Coherence in the Book of Mormon Chapter 1 to 9. It is an attempt to anlyze and explain the items of coherence. The objectives of this research is to identify, classify, and analyze the items of coherence in the Book of Mormon Chapter 1 to 9 The writer conducts this research by using descriptive method. The data were taken from the Book of Mormon chapter 1 to 9 and analyzed based on Juez’ (2008). The findings show that there are 79 marked coherence ( 26 words of addition, 20 words of casuality, 2 words of condition, 24 words of instrument, 3 words of tempo, 4 words of intensity ) but there is no marked coherence on contrast, conclusion, comparison, similiar, and validitation. In addition unmarked coherence is not found in the data. Keywords : Discourse Analysis, The Book of Mormon., Coherence Items

Abstract

ABSTRAK  Karya ilmiah ini menceritakan tentang perkembangan para transmigran yang berada di Desa Bantik Kecamatan Beo, Kabupaten Kepulauan Talaud. Keberadaan masyarakat transmigran di sana melalui tahapan penyuluhan, pendaftaran hingga pemberangkatan mereka ke Talaud. Faktor pendorong terjadinya migrasi di kalangan masyarakat itu karena di daerah asal mereka sulit memperoleh pekerjaan, dan daerah sempit untuk bercocok tanam. Masyarakat transmigran di Desa Bantik Kecamatan Beo berkembang pesat. Taraf penghidupan mereka meningkat dari setiap waktu dan telah memiliki usaha sendiri di tempat yang baru. Hal ini membuat mereka tidak ingin kembali ke kampung halamannya. ______________________________________________________________ Kata kunci: transmigrasi, transmigran, Bantik, Beo, Talaud

Abstract

ABSTRACT Speech act is an pragmatics element which involve the speaker, hearer, writer, reader, and the topic. Speech act is a psychology speech from the action and the meaning point of view. It is an identity which play a central role in pragmatics. It is also can be seen the daily activities which has a close relation to a speech act communication in society, public and social. Novel is a prose fiction work that composed in the form of a story. It is a form and result of a creative work and it also uses language in revealing the human life.Pragmatics is a study of meaning in the relation with the speech situations. The aim of this research are to identify the values and to describe the form of speech act which can be found in the  novel ‘Ayat-Ayat  Cinta’. This research hopefully can enrich the knowledge of the readers in pragmatics aspects of novel and can be the reference for other writers who are eager to write other aspect of pragmatics speech acts. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research was conducted due to students' low ability in mastering English vocabulary. This research aimed at finding out how the use of picture storybook could improve the students' mastery at Group B of TK Suci Castellia Manado. This research used classroom action research. It was done in two cyles, which consisted of two meetings for each cycle. The researcher did the research based on the procedures of classroom action research which are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data were obtained from observations, an interview, documentation and tests (pre-test and post-test). It was found that the use of picture storybook on the first cycle showed a slow increase in the students' ability to master English vocabulary. In the second cycle, some improvements were made during the learning process. In this second cycle, English vocabulary at Group B students increased with the use of picture storybooks. The second cycle showed that the mastery of English vocabulary tended to increase. From both cycles, it indicates that the use of picture storybook can improve students' vocabulary mastery at Group B of TK Suci Castellia Manado. Abstract

ABSTRACT            This study is an attempt to describe and analyze the English and Tontemboan language specifying on the process of reduplication and the contrast of both languages to find the similarities and differences interms of forms analyzing. The English data have been collected from several English books, dictionary, thesis, related theories from library, internet, whereas the Tontemboan data are collected from informants and internet. The descriptive method is used to describe and analyze the reduplication of both language by using theory of Jensen (1990:68), Ramlan (2009:63), Keraf (1987:120), Quirk and Greenbaum (1973). After describing the process of reduplication of English and Tontemboan language, the writer makes a contrastive analysis to finding out the similarities and differences of both language by using Lado’s theory.  Theoritically this investigation is going to give a contribution in morphological analysis especially on reduplication, for development of  linguistics at the faculty of Humanities Sam Ratulangi University. The result of this investigation shows that English has full reduplication with phonemic variation. Whereas Tontemboan language has a full reduplication, partial reduplication, and reduplication with affixation. Keywords : Reduplication, English and Tontemboan Language, Contrastive Analysis

Abstract

Abstract The problems of this research is how does Ibsen connect the idea, behavior and material culture in A Doll’s House, and the objective of this research is to recognize the ways Ibsen connect the idea, behavior, and material culture in A Doll’s House. Then the writer using three steps in terms of methodology. They are preparation, data collection and analysis.
