Abstract

ABSTRAKTION Diese Untersuchung hat den   Titel  “ Präfix in der deutschen  und Tonsawang Sprache (Eine kontrastive Analyse). Sie hat das Ziel, um das Präfix der deutschen und Tonsawang Sprache zu kontrastieren.  In dieser Untersuchung wird die Theorien  von Griesbach, Kalangi, Pelz, und Lado. Um die Daten zu analysieren, wird die deskriptive und kontrastive Methode benutzt. Nach der Analyse  und Kontrast sind  die Schluβfolgerung nämlich zu ziehen. Es gibt die Gleichkeit und den Unterschied. Die Gleichkeiten sind: Deutsche und Tonsawang Sprache haben Präfix, das auf das Verba, Nomen, und Adjektiv verbindet. Es  kann die Bedeutung verändert,oder nicht. Präfix der deutschen und Tonsawang Sprache haben negative Bedeutung. Die Unterchiede sind, in der deutschen Sprache gibt es das Präfix, das nicht produziert. In der Tonsawang produzieren  alle Präfixen. In der Tonsawang Sprache gibt es  das Präxif, das die Bedeutung  hat, eine  Aktivitäten , die mehr mal gemacht wird.   Stichwörter: Präfix,  Kontrastiv,  Gleichkeit, Unterschied, Bedeutung.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is entitled “Written Language Production of Student with Disgraphia in Faculty of Humanity Sam Ratulangi University”. The objectives of this research are to describe dysgraphia itself and to analyze the influences of dysgraphia on the written language production of the student in Faculty of Humanity, Sam Ratulangi University. This research uses a descriptive method. There are three steps to finish this research, the first step is preparation. In this step, the writer reads the related theories of psycholinguistics in concern with language disorder, in this case dysgraphia. The second step is data collection. The writer gathers several students of English Student Association who are the participants of English debate and speech club, then examines them with the proper test suggested by Gvion and Friedman (2008:5). The third step is data analysis. The writer analyze the influences on the written language production of the student with dysgraphia by using the theories of Caplan (1992:192), Hatch (1983:1), Marcie dan Hecaen (1973:3), and Fanis dan Linda (2011:2). The results of this research show that dysgraphia is an impairment in writing which caused not only by the brain damaged but also by the cognitive and linguistic disorder. The student has a lexical dysgraphia. Dysgraphia also affects the written language production of the student orthographically. The student makes errors while writing, mostly the vowels. It does not affect his intelligent but his academic grade. Keywords : Psycholinguistics, Language Production, Language Disorder, Dysgraphia.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This skripsi entitled “The Irony In Searching The Holy Grail In Novel The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown” is intended to be one of the requirements to accomplish the Sarjana tittle at Faculty Of Humanities, University Of Sam Ratulangi Manado.  The aims of this research are to identify, classify and analyze the irony and how they are illustrated in searching the Holy Grail and identify and analyze the placement of irony in searching the Holy Grail in novel The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.  In conducting this research, the methodology used is descriptive method by Winarno (1984). The approach used in this research is intrinsic approach by Wellek and Warren (1977). Theory of irony by Landy (1972), the classification of irony from theory of Edgar V. Roberts (1983) and theory of plot by Tasrif (in Nurgiyantoro:2002) are used to do the analysis.   The results of this research show that the irony and its three types: verbal irony, dramatic irony and irony of situation are found in the novel. Verbal irony is illustrated through the character of Andre Vernet. Dramatic irony is illustrated through the character’s statement of Teacher. Situational irony is illustrated through the character of Aringarosa. The analysis of the placement of irony shows that the irony elements are placed in rising action, climax and resolution. In rising action, the irony found is verbal irony through the character of Andre Vernet. In climax, the irony found is dramatic irony through the characters of The Teacher and Remy. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study is an attempt to analyze, describe and contrast English and Bangai language which focuses on the interrogative sentences in relation to their form and function in both languages. The data of the English language were collected from books by Aarts (2001) Aarts and Aarts (1957), whereas the data of Banggai language were collected by interviewing and recording using a mobile phone recording, resulting in the collected audio material as the primary data. The data were then analyzed and described. To find out the forms and functions of interrogative sentences, the writer used theory of interrogative sentences based on Aarts (2001). After that, the data were contrasted by using Lado’s theory (1957). The results of this study show that these two language have differences as well as similarities. There are eight similarities and eight differences between both languages.      Keywords : Interrogative Sentence, English  and Banggai Language, Contrastive Analysis.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research  entitled “Interrogative Sentences in English and Loloda Language” is an attempt to analyze and describe  English and Loloda  Language  focus on interrogative sentences in relation to their forms and functions in both languages.The data of English language are collected from several books, internet, and some theories that related  to this research, whereas the data of Loloda  language are collected by interviewing from some informants who know well about this language by using contrastive analysis approach. The data then analyzed and described. to find out the form and functionof interrogative sentence uses the concept of Frank (1972).To compare these two languages, the writer uses Lado’s (1957 ) concept. He said that contrastive analysis is a way to compare language elements in term of form, meaning, and distribution, in finding the differences and the similarities of both languages. The result of this research shows that English and Loloda language have similarities and differences. The similarities of two languages are found in form of interrogative sentences such as who, why, what, where, when, how (in English); nango, okia, moruoka, kiaka, idoa, sokonoke ( in Loloda) and function of question word of both languages. The differences between two languages are found, such as placing of question words,  using  “who” , taq questions and structure of sentence.   Keywords: Interrogative Sentences, English and Loloda Language. Abstract

ABSTRACT             The research is entitled “Code Mixing in the Social Media Facebook”. It is an attempt to analyze and explain the code mixing analysis in the social media Facebook. The objective of this research is to identify, classify, and analyze the code mixing on status and caption photos/videos in Facebook.            The writer conducts this research by using the descriptive method. In collecting the data, the status and caption photos/videos were taken from Facebook social media. To identify and classify the writer used theory by Muysken (2000) and Suwito (1985), and the data were analyzed and described by using the theories of Hoffman (1991) and Suwito (1983).            The results of this research show that in code mixing there are 65 research data. The types of code mixing the writer found out were 4 types of code mixing included existing data, according to Muysken (2000), namely insertion of word, insertion of phrase and alternation. And according to Suwito (1985), the whole data is external code mixing, which is code mixing from the Indonesian language to the foreign language that is English language. Based on the cause of the occurences of code mixing the writer found out 13 cause of occurance of code mixing according to theory by Hoffman (1991:96) and Suwito (1983) there were talking about particular topic, quoting somebody else, being emphatic about something, interjection, repetition used for clarification, intention of clarifying, expressing group identity, to soften or strengthen request or command, because of real lexical need, to exclude other people when a comment is intended for only a limited audience, role factor, variability factor, the desire factor to explain and interpret.----------------------------------------------------------------------Keywords: Sociolinguistics, Code Mixing, Facebook

Abstract

Abstraktion Diese Untersuchung bespricht über die humanistischeAspekte der Poesie in dem Buch Jakarta-Berlin, das eine Zweisprachige Anthologie Poesie aus der Ramadhan K.K und Berthold Damshäuser abgefasst. Die Hauptgedichte in diese Untersuchung sind umfassende die vier poesie die von vier dichter geschrieben hat. Nämlich Kurfürstendamm, Blauer Abend in Berlin, Besuch vom Lande, und Gesang vom Elend und Ruhm der Großen stadt Berlin. Das Methode in dieser Untersuchung ist ein deskriptive Methode mit Oberflächenstruktur die vier Gedichten entfellt über mensliches Leben und soziale Phänomen in den Deutsche Leben, aus der Deutschland nach Renaissance bis nach dem Weltkrieg zweiten der schon genug Verwandung in der Soziostruktural für die Menschen in Deutschland, und die Verbindung mit humanistiche Aspekten sind Lebens berechtigung, selbst Berechtigung, ansicht Berechtigung, und National Berechtigung.   Stichwörter :Poesie, humanistische Aspekte, Berlin

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is entitled “The Analysis on Students’ Error in Using Simple Present Tense at SMP N 5 Manado”. The objectives of this research are to identify, classify, and analyze descriptively type of errors and the errors frequently made by students in using simple present tense at SMP N 5 Manado. This research is expected to help in developing language learning process and to give information about the errors especially in using simple present tense. In this research, the writer used case study method and the theory from Ellis (2003). She categorizes three types of errors in the language learning namely omission, misinformation, and misordering. There were 61 participants involved from two classes of SMP N 5 Manado in VII 6 and VII 7. The writer used a writing test consists of simple present tense material in order to get the data from the student.The result of this research shows that there are several errors that students made in using simple present tense. There are 151 errors and it was classified into omission, misinformation and misordering. The errors of omission include omission of – s/es in ending verb, omission of to be, omission not in negative sentences, omission of to do in negative and question sentences, omission of question mark on question sentences, and omission of object. The errors of misinformation include misinformation of simple present tense verb, misinformation of subject, misinformation of object, misinformation of to be, and misinformation of to do. The errors of misordering include misordering of to do, misordering of to be and 2 combination of errors. The error that frequently made by students is misinformation which was done for 683 times.     Keywords: Error Analysis, Simple Present Tense, Omission

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This skripsi is entitled “Kemampuan Membaca Cepat Mahasiswa Semester IV Jurusan Sastra Inggris Fakultas Ilmu Budaya”. The objective of this research is to identify and analyze the speed reading ability of the fourth semester English students of the Faculty of Cultural Science. This research is based on the theory Brown (2007), Buzan (2001), and Clark (1967). The study is a quantitative approach. And data analysis focusing on quantitatif/statistical analaysis. The population of this research is English Department students in the Faculty of Cultural Science, and the sample is taken from the fourth semester students of the English Department as many as 26 students. The test are given in two categories: elementary level and intermediate level. The result of this research for the elementary level show that 4% of the students have the high test score, 61% of the students have the lowest score; the mean is 48,84, the median is 5, and the modus is 4. The results of this research for the intermediate level show that 4% of the students have the hightest score; 50% of the students have the lowest score, the mean is 51,53, the median is 5,5 and the modus is 6. It can be concluded the students perform better in intermediate level than the elementary level, but the speed reading of the fourth semester students of the English Department is less than satisfactory.   Keyworrds : Speed Reading.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is an attempt to find out the forms and analyze the meaning of prepositions in the Album Stand Up and Scream by Asking Alexandria. The data were analyzed based on the theories of Quirk Randolph (1985) and Curme (1986). The method used in this research was descriptive method. The data of prepositions were taken from the lyrics in the Album Stand Up and Scream by Asking Alexandria. The result of this study shows that there are 5 forms of prepositions found in the 13 songs in the album based on the theory of Quirk (1985) simple preposition, compound preposition, complex preposition, marginal preposition, inflectional preposition. Based on the theory of Curme (1986), there are 13 meanings of preposition found in the Album Stand Up and Scream by Asking Alexandria. The meaning of preposition refer to place, time, purpose or target, source or origin, cause or reason, way, tool, inclusion, nature, ownership or possession, amount, size, conquest.
