Abstract

The results of recapitulation of UN scores students on static fluid material from 2014-2016 have fluctuated every year. Many factors affect these conditions, one of which is the use of learning methods that are more memorized and low motivation to learn students. Mastery learning approach to learning with remedial group patterns allows can change the mindset of students and can improve learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of the mastery learning approach with remedial group patterns on student learning outcomes. The method used in this research is quasi experiment research, which involves 4 (four) classes with remedial patterns per class. Data collection is done by using multiple-choice test questions. The test result data were analyzed using the one way ANOVA test formula. The results of the statistical test show that Fcount> Ftable is 2.90> 2.72 for a significant level of 95% and α = 0.05. The results showed that Ha hypothesis was accepted. The conclusion that there is an effect of the mastery learning approach with the remedial group pattern on learning outcomes, this can be seen from an increase in the class with the incomplete remedial pattern of selective friends (TTT-PT), compared with other classes.

Abstract

Experiments/practical activities in science learning are important, but it cannot be denied that there are limitations in infrastructure facilities in the implementation of the practicum. To overcome this, one solution is to empower natural laboratories. Natural laboratories, namely the whole world around us, both original and man-made, are often overlooked for practical activities. In addition, students will be very interested if science lesson observations make use of the natural rides around. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning outcomes and responses of students with the use of natural laboratories as student learning facilities in MIN Sabang. The research design used was pre-experiment with a population of all IV classes of MIN Sabang, while for the sample in this study were IV1 students 22 students are also called Total Sampling. Data collection techniques in this study were tests and student response questionnaires. Based on the results of the study obtained student learning outcomes can be increased from the pre-test value of 31.82 to 76.14 post-test values. The results of hypothesis testing with t-test statistics were obtained by t count t table or 18.62-1.72 so that Ha was accepted, student learning response data had an increase of 89.9% which was very good criteria. Then it can be concluded that the use of natural laboratories can improve learning outcomes and responses in material changes in the form of objects in MIN Sabang.

Abstract

The need for salt at this time is very high, especially in the food sector, so analytes that are declared very good for health must meet the requirements of the KIO3 compound (potassium iodate), SNI requirements are 30-80 ppm. The purpose of this study was to compare the levels of potassium iodate in term salt with two processes, namely cooking and natural drying. The sample used comes from the term salt produced in Matang Glumpang Dua. The method used in this research is iodometry. The results showed that the average levels of potassium iodate in cooked salt amounted to 32.13 mg/kg and dried salt content amounted to 50.32 mg/kg, with a ratio of levels of 18.19 mg/kg. From the results of the analysis of the two salts meet the requirements specified by SNI 01-3556-2010.

Abstract

Research on the application of the ICARE learning model to the redox reaction material in class X was done. The purpose of the study was to determine the activities and responses of students to the ICARE model. This study uses a quantitative approach. This type of research was a quasi-experiment. The research subjects were 25 students of class X MIA 1. The instruments used in the study were the students' activity observation sheets and questionnaire responses sheets. The results of observations of the activities of experimental class students at the first meeting were 83.65% and 92.19% at the second meeting. Students' responses to the application of the ICARE  model on the redox reaction material were said to be very amenable to the percentage of 85.20%. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the ICARE model can increase activities and respond very well by students in the learning process so that this model can be used in the learning process on redox reaction materials.

Abstract

This Research to analyze the abilityof students through the implementation of the Discovery Learning learning model has been carried out at MTsN Sabang. The research design used was a Pre-Experimental Design in the form of a One-Shot Case Study. The population in this study were all students of class VII MTsN Sabang consisting of 4 classes with class VII3 samples collected by 25 students. The research sample was selected by purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using a written test of 10-question questions. Data were analyzed using a formula that was calculated based on scores obtained from essay tests. The results showed the victory over the assessment of critical indicators obtained a simple assessment of getting a percentage of 76%, indicators of building skills gained 64.8%, indicators were obtained obtaining a percentage of  71.8%, indicators giving explanations received obtaining a percentage of 70.6%, and 71% of strategies. Critical learning about students in the ecosystem material through the implementation of the Discovery Learning learning model in MTsN Sabang is in the high category.

Abstract

Study on the use of molymod from turkey berries to improve students' understanding of chemical bonding material and molecular shape has been carried out. This study aimed to improve student learning outcomes and activities in studying chemical bonding and molecular shapes. This study was a classroom action research conducted in three cycles. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IA 2 of SMAN 1 Sukamakmur, Aceh Besar. The increasing of student learning outcomes of the three cycles in a row that was 51.19, 61.90, and 75. The classical completeness obtained in each cycle was 19%, 57%, and 86% with the completeness criteria of low, medium, and high graduation.  Besides looking at the learning outcomes, the activity of students has also seen an increase in each cycle. The activities of the student in each cycle respectively were obtained about 43%, 62%, and 81% with the criteria of quite active, active, and very active.  Based on the result of the learning outcomes and observation of students showed that the learning of chemical bonds and molecular models by using turkey berries has been successfully conducted.

Abstract

Bioplastic is one step to reduce the use of plastics that are not environmentally friendly. The genus Metroxxlen, Sp is a bioplastic material that is easily degraded in the soil. Metroxxlen, Sp has a hydrophilic nature which results in its physical properties being low. Bioplastic Starch Genus Metroxxlen, Sp is made by mixing ZnO as a reinforcement, Genus starch Metroxxlen, Sp as a source of natural polymers, with the addition of glycerol as a plasticizer. The results of the spread of ZnO in bioplastics can be seen with SEM. Comparison of ZnO with Genus Metroxxlen Sp. starch 1-3% wt produced a strengthened mechanism characteristic from 0.40 kg/cm2 to 0.70 kgf /cm2; the change in the extension changed down from 120.4% to 99.00%. For glycerol composition with variations from 1-3% wt, the change in elongation changes to increase from 90.00% to 98.00%, the nature of the mechanism changes to decrease from 0.25 kg/cm2 to 0.20 kgf /cm2.

Abstract

Based on observations at SMAN 1 Baitussalam, information was obtained that learning outcomes of students on acid-base material were still low, this was caused by the process of learning chemistry that was still teacher-centered and didn’t use specific learning models. The STEM learning model is a One learning model that can be used as  solution to this problem is the learning model of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the effect of the STEM learning model on learning outcomes and student responses, especially on the concept of acid-base in SMAN 1 Baitussalam. This study uses Quasi Experimental design, with data collected through test and questionnaires. Student test results were analyzed using SPSS Version 23.0, where the significance value obtained from the t-test analysis was 0,000<0.05 so it can be seen that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Student responses obtained through questionnaires analyzed based on the percentage answers provided by students, the results showed that 93% responses of students were very interested in the STEM learning model. These results indicate that STEM learning model is effective in improving student learning outcomes in SMAN 1 Baitussalam, especially in acid-base concept.
