Abstract

The students of Class XI IPA D SMA Negeri 1 Malingping difficult to understand On the subject of biology, especially in Class XI IPA D, students' ability is still very low in understanding and analyzing the theories taught in school. Especially in the material transport mechanisms on the cell membrane. In this learning the teacher should multiply the practice activities so that students are able to improve their ability in analyzing the material in teaching. Therefore, previous learning using lecture method will be replaced by using experimental method. The experimental method is a way of teaching in which the student performs an experiment on something, observes the process and writes the results of the experiment, then the results are presented to the class and evaluated by the teacher. The result of this research is pre cycle that still use conventional method in learning number of students who get value above KKM only 13 students, then in cycle 1 researcher start using experiment method in learning process, and result there are 21 student Got a score above the KKM. Continuing on cycle 2, there was another increase of 27 students who scored above the KKM. So in the process and the period is not short, the experimental learning method has a positive impact for students ie students of Class XI IPA D SMA Negeri 1 Malingping can improve its ability in analyzing the mechanism of transport on the cell membrane.

Abstract

This research aimed to know the application and the influence of learning model fishbowl toward students communication ability to environmental pollution concept at SMAN 18 Kabupaten Tangerang. The method in this research is quasi experiment by research design randomized control group only. The sample were students of class X-3 as experiment class and X-4 as control class which were selected by random sampling. The collecting data using a written communication ability test, observation paper and. Analysis of hypothesis using U-Mann Whitney in the signification α=0.05. The result of the research obtained score signification is 0.000 < 0.05 for oral communication ability and written communication ability obtained score signification is 0.007< 0.05, can be conclude that the use learning model fishbowl influenced toward students communication ability to environmental pollution concept at SMAN 18 Kabupaten Tangerang both orally and in written. The analysis to observation result showed of criteria the student was interest used of learning model fishbowl with average score 69.9% in enough criteria.

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of cooperative learning model STAD and the ability to make a concept maps on learning outcomes x grade biology students at SMK Muhammadiyah Cilegon. This study population is the class x majoring in nursing with a total sample of 48. The reserch was conducted in November 2015. The research method using Quasi Experiment with a design by level and using ANOVA two way. The results showed there are differences in the biology of learning outcomes significantly between cooperative learning model STAD and conventional learning models. As well there is an interaction between cooperative learning model type STAD with the ability to make a concept map.

Abstract

This research aims to determine student’s critical thinking ability profile through Group Investigation (GI) learning model on the biological motion systems concept at SMAN 7 Kota Serang. This research used a descriptive method. The population in this research were students of class XI IPA at SMAN 7 Kota Serang and sample were class XI IPA 1 which taken by simple random sampling technique. The data was collected by using essay test to determine student’s critical thinking ability. The result showed that student’s critical thinking ability of SMA Negeri 7 Kota Serang classically include in very critical category as much as 85,20%. Distribution of students in each category of critical thinking ability is 58.82% categorized as critical, 35.29% are very critical, and 5.88% are quite critical.

Abstract

The research has been done on Juli 2017 in the coastal region of Tunda Island. This study aims to determine the Biodiversity of Mollusca (Gastropoda and Bivalvia) As Bioindicator of Water Quality In Coastal Area of Tunda Island, Banten. Sampling consists of 2 observation stations, namely the mangrove coastal area (3 transects) and the seagrass coastal area (2 transects) determined by purposive sampling. The observation of each station is done by using the quadratic transect method with 100 m transect line distance, and in each transect line there are 5 observation plots measuring 1m2 x 1m2. The data analysis includes density, biodiversity, bio-indicators of water quality based on diversity index. Result of research on 5 transect found 45 type Mollusca which represent 2 class, that is Gastropoda class of 29 species Gastropoda joined in 14 Family. As for Bivalvia class found 16 species incorporated in 9 families. The total density of Mollusca is 541.2 ind / m2 which consists of 392.4 ind / m2 for Gastropoda class and 148.8 ind / m2 for Bivalvia class. Mollusca diversity was calculated using the diversity index of Shannon-Wienner (H '). The results of diversity index ranged from 3.1356 - 3.3314 with high category. Bioindicator of aquatic quality using diversity index indicates that the coastal area of Tunda Island belongs to a very mildly polluted category.

Abstract

Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bert. M.) is known as a natural non-caloric sweetener. This plants contain glycoside such steviosida type, mainly on the leave contain sweetness level between 200-300 cane sugar but the calorie is very low. This research was aimed to determine difference effects of PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) concentrations and the light conditions on Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bert. M.) callus induction in vitro. This research was conducted from April to June 2016 at Biotechnology Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD), which consisted of two factors with three replications. Concentrations of PEG as first factor consisted of four levels (0 mg/L, 5 mg/L, 15 mg/L, and 25 mg/L). Light conditions as second factor consisted of two levels (Dark and Light). The results showed that the concentrations of PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) did not significantly effect the time of callus appearance and diameter of callus on 4, 5 and 6 weeks after planting. Dark condition was the best conditions for callus induction of stevia. The texture of callus was compact on all treatments and the callus dominant color produced is golden brown.
