Abstract

This article aims to analyze the inheritance of human traits in the Qur’an, specifically at Surah An-Nisa verse 1, based on the scientific interpretation of Zaghlūl an-Najjār. This study discusses Zaghlūl an-Najjār because he is a geologist and Muslim scholar who has written many books related to science in the Qur’an. The type of this study was qualitative research with a descriptive method. Primary data were obtained through library research related to the works of an-Najjār and interpretations of the Qur’an and hadith, while articles and books were used as secondary data. The employed research approaches were the character approach to study the history, ideas, and socio-historical conditions of Zaghlūl an-Najjār, the exegesis approach to study the content of the Qur’an, and the scientific approach to understand and reveal the meaning of the verses of the Qur’an. This study concludes that the inheritance of human traits in the Q.S. An-Nisa’ verse 1 according to Zaghlūl an-Najjār is in the words “al-nafs al-wāḥidah” (one soul), which means all humans come from the first created creatures, namely Adam. Likewise, the creation of Eve is explained in the words “wa khalaqa minhā zaujahā” (and We created his wife from himself).

Abstract

The Development of Contemporary Hadith Thought in Indonesia (Study of Research Results in a Journal of National Reputation 2015-2020)This paper aims at the development of Hadith thought in Indonesia and the contribution of Muslim Intellectual thought that exists in Islamic Universities in Indonesia. Because they have written articles on many topics of Hadith such as the content of Hadith, Hadith sciences, and some theories which relate to Hadith. This article uses a descriptive-analytical approach. Besides, the data are taken from several reputable Islamic and Hadith Sciences journals. In the conclusion, the article results that hadith studies in Indonesia in this contemporary era have experienced the development of the theme of their studies which initially only focused on the validity of hadith but later began to appear as integration between hadith and social sciences, health, science and others and their notions contribute to various Hadith Sciences topic, provide solutions to the problems in the society by applying the Hadith theories, and also re- study the culture that based on the message of Hadith in case to counter the thought that assumes that the culture is bid’ah. In addition, the notions of Hadith Experts become their own type in the development of Hadith in Indonesia and even in the world

Abstract

The Urgency of Hermeneutics as a Method in Understanding HadithHadith as a Source of Law must be understood comprehensively, in order to be applied to every age, using the right approach method, among the methods of approaching understanding hadith is the hermeneutics of hadith. Hermeneutics, which was originally developed as a method of interpretation of the text of scripture in the West, developed into the most important method of approach in the field of interpretation of religious texts including hadith texts. Therefore, this study aims to describe and analyze the concept and urgency of hermeneutics in the understanding of hadith which serves as a method for contextualizing the understanding of hadith. The scope of this article is hermeneutics as a method of understanding hadith, to find the moral idea or moral message contained in a hadith. This research is qualitatively descriptive by analyzing sources starting with a narrative about the concept of hermeneutics as a method of understanding and the urgency of hermeneutics as a method in understanding hadith with a descriptive method of analysis. The results showed that hermeneutics as a method of understanding hadith emphasizes the objectivity of the initiator or source of the hadith, analyzing things related to the anchor or text known as the tradition of criticism of sanad hadith, looking for moral ideas from the hadith text by connecting the micro text or hadith with the context of society macro. Meanwhile, the urgency of hermeneutics as a method of understanding hadith is to actualize the messages contained in the understanding of hadith so that they can be actualized in the current context.

Abstract

Typology of Contemporary Hadith Studies in Indonesia (Study of Moraref Indexed Journal Articles 2017-2021)This article aimed to analyze hadith study articles on the e-journal of Moraref portal to map the typology of contemporary hadith studies in Indonesia. This research is a literature research in the form of descriptive-analytic. The analysis method is content-analysis with inductive-clustering approach. The main data in this study are e-articles on hadith studies contained in the Moraref portal of the Ministry of Religion from 2017-2021. The results of this study indicate a positive contribution to the development of Islamic studies, especially hadith after the digitization of Islamic knowledge in Indonesia, because it facilitates knowledge-sharing and knowledge-access. There are 672 e-articles divided into seven typologies centered on two points of view or perspectives on hadith; first, hadith as a scientific tool; This view produces three typologies of contemporary hadith studies in Indonesia, namely; Hadith science, Hadith figures and thoughts, Scientific integration with other branches of science. Second, Hadith as a teaching; This perspective gives rise to three categories or characteristics in hadith research in Indonesia; Hadith understanding method, Thematic hadith study, Living hadith. Both of these points of view were viewed in a typology of hadith development studies

Abstract

Jews in Indonesia: An Analyst of the Interpretation of Jewish Verses in the Book of Marāḥ Labīh by Nawawi al-BantaniThe work of interpretation of the Qur'an is one of the writings that has had a major influence on the formation of the ideology of the world's Muslims. Indonesia with a Muslim majority community also experiences this. Indonesia has many credible Muslim scholars in various fields, one of which is in the interpretation of the Qur'an. Nawawi al-Bantani is one of the Indonesian Muslim scholars who is engaged in the study of the interpretation of the Qur'an. The book of Marāḥ Labīh is a concrete proof. This article aims to examine Nawawi's interpretation when dealing with Jewish verses in the Qur'an. The descriptive-analytic method is used as a step to solve the existing problems. The results of this study indicate that Nawawi al-Bantani's interpretation of Marāḥ Labīh is anti-Semitic even though Nawawi did not contextualize his interpretation of the Jews of his time. The character and character of the Jews are expressed clearly and with determination, only a few Jews realize their mistakes

Abstract

Raḍā' in the Era of the Prophet Muhammad and the Modern: Correlation Analysis, East Java Muslim Reception, and SolutionsRaḍā' is a tradition that existed at the time of the Prophet Muhammad. History records that the Prophet breastfed Aminah for no more than 10 days. Then the Prophet was breastfed by another woman. Raḍā' at the time of the Prophet was carried out directly, namely the baby's mother entrusted her baby to another woman. Over time, the concept of Raḍā' changed with the existence of an institution that operated as a reservoir for breast milk from breast milk donors. Then distribute it to the baby's mother in need. This change in concept raises its own problems because with the existence of breastfeeding donor institutions, breastfeeding is prone to occur. Whereas the existence of a breastfeeding donor agency is a breakthrough for babies in need. This article is here to find a correlation between breastfeeding at the time of the Prophet Muhammad and modern breastfeeding donor agencies. Furthermore, this article looks for solutions to prevent the existence of milk marriages that are feared by Muslims. This article uses mixed methods research as a step to find the results. The results obtained from this article show a strong correlation between Rada' at the time of the Prophet and the modern Rada' system. To avoid the existence of incestuous marriages, the researcher proposes the existence of administrative records, thus preventing the existence of breast marriages in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tafsir Maqāshidī: A Study of the Book of Tafsir al-Ahkam by Abdul Halim HasanThis study aims to analyze the interpretation in the Book of Tafsir al-Ahkam Abdul Halim Hasan related to the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims based on maqāshidī interpretation. To examine Abdul Halim's interpretation, in this case the researcher uses the casuistic method, namely choosing the interpretation results as a sample that represents the methodological conclusions. The overall data in this study is written library research or library research, either in the form of books, research reports or journals related to research. The findings of this study indicate the application of maqāsid al-shari'ah elements in the Book of Tafsir al-Ahkam Abdul Halim Hasan, this can be seen from his interpretation of verses relating to Muslim and non-Muslim relations, such as; interfaith marriages, make infidels as guardians and insult the God of other religions. In Abdul Halim's interpretation it is explained that the prohibition of interfaith marriages is seen in maqāsid al-shari'ah, there is prudence in maintaining or maintaining religion and the prohibition of making non-believers as guardians for fear of betrayal, while the prohibition of insulting God of other religions aims to prevent damage between adherents of religions

Abstract

The Inkar Sunnah Order in North Sumatra: A Study of Argumentation and Its DevelopmentThis study aims to determine the development and arguments of the Inkar Sunah understanding, especially in North Sumatra; Inkar Sunah understanding; even though there has been a ban from the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI: Majelis Ulama Indonesia), its existence still exists and is active in people's lives. This research is qualitative using a library research approach; the descriptive analysis method is used to describe and analyze research data, data collection by observation, interviews and documentation to the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI); after the data collected will be reduced, presented and draw a conclusion. Research findings include; that in the development of the Inkar Sunah in North Sumatra, there is an understanding that rejects the hadith/sunnah and indirectly rejects the Qur’an due to not understanding the method of interpreting the Qur’an by the standards that the commentator has prepared. Thus, a group of Inkar Sunah reject the sunnah of the Prophet saw and leave the Qur’an. Inkar Sunah in North Sumatra is not affiliated with any other group. The North Sumatra MUI has issued a fatwa prohibiting the Inkar Sunnah. However, the spread of Inkar Sunnah is still found in people's lives

Abstract

The Path to Taqwa from the Shaykh 'Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani’s Perspective: Analysis of the Interpretation of Taqwa Verses in Tafsir al-JailaniThis research focuses on the study of the interpretation of the verses of taqwa in the interpretation of al-Jailani as the culmination of various rituals required by Allah, this research includes descriptive qualitative research, which provides a systematic, careful and accurate description of the interpretation of Shaykh 'Abdul Qadir al-Jailani about the verses of piety. This study uses two data, namely primary data in the form of verses of the Qur'an, namely verses containing taqwa words while secondary data in the form of interpretation of ideas, ideas, other written materials that are related to this research The results of this study show that the terminology of taqwa with its various kinds is repeated 242 times in the Quran. The essence of taqwa according to Shaikh 'Abdul Qadir al-Jailani is obedience built solely to Allah, obeying his commands not violating them, remembering them instead of forgetting them, being grateful for them instead of incarnating them. The devout are those who obey God's commands and spare their souls from all forms of obedience that can hinder true purity and access to closeness to the Creator.  The way to attain devotion according to Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani is to abstain from the deeds that deeds that deeds that are deeds that deeds of Allah's servants and their rights, escape from obedience, which include great sins and minor sins and then preoccupied oneself with forsaking the sins of the heart which is the mother of various sins and the essence from which it gives birth to sins in the limbs. The sins of the heart such as riya', nifaq, ujub, takabbur, ambition, gluttony, fear of beings, hoping for them, expecting office and position, accentuating themselves to others. The privileges of a devout person according to him are: (1) getting blessings and happiness, (2) getting solutions to the problems he faces and sustenance from God, (3) getting love and protection from God, (4) getting Lessons from God and (5). Get God's forgiveness and heaven

Abstract

Taking Wages in the Transmission of Hadith and its Implications for the Quality of the Narrator's ‘AdalahThe practice of wage taking in hadith transmission becomes polemic among hadith scholars. For some scholars, wage taking for hadith transmission may undermine honor and implicates on the cancellation of ‘adalah status; therefore, its transmission is rejected. Interestingly, this article finds that some hadith transmitters received payment for the transmission; however,  the transmission is still accepted even by the famous imam of hadith. This article aims at revealing the attitude of hadith scholars toward some hadith transmitters taking wage when they transmit hadith and its implication on 'adalah quality. This article is library research whose main data sources are books of mushthalah al-hadits and al-jarh wa al-ta’dil. Data are analyzed using the descriptive-qualitative method and hadith critique (naqd al-hadith) approach. The result of this study is that there are some hadith transmitters taking wage in hadith transmission and they are assessed as 'adil by imam of hadiths scholar. Such practice can be accepted as motivation for taking wage in hadith transmission to fulfill the transmitters' daily needs as they are destitute. Such attitude, according to imam of hadith scholars, will not implicate the damage of muru’ah and the loss of 'adalah as long as the transmitters are consistent in their religious observance and they are not recognized as liars or perceived liars.
