Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of the study of the implementation of Problem Based Learning model that has been done on previous research on the syntax, teacher behavior and the content of problems in Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM), especially in the field of Physics study, in terms of the Lesson Plans Program (RPP) and Student Worksheets (LKS) that have been made to the main literature. This research is a qualitative research with the descriptive approach on 7 samples RPP and 7 LKS. The results showed that the content of the problems did not match the PBL and the teacher behaviour on some samples in stage I (Organizing Students to Problem) and stage III (Assisting Self-Inquiry and Group) did not match the PBL syntax. The conclusion of this research is from the analysis of PBL model implementation that has been done in previous studies on the syntax, teacher behavior and the content of the problems in 7 samples of RPP and LKS shows that the teacher behavior that exist in the RPP there are some that are not in accordance with PBL syntax and the contents of the problems given to the students either written on the RPP or LKS mostly not actual because some of it is a matter of memorization that does not require creative thinking, mathematical calculations and problems looking for relationships between variables through experiments. Suggestion from this research that is in use of PBL model for making RPP and LKS in KBM need to refer five stages in PBL and problem has given to the student in PBL learning model should problem actual and require creative thinking and written clearly and completely in RPP and LKS.

Abstract

The purpose of this ressearch is produce science learning material through guided inquiry model that valid, practical, and effective to increase collaborative problem solving skill and science literacy skill of student of Islamic primary school teachers. The development of learning material was tested in class student of Islamic primary school teachers 3rd semester Unipdu Jombang in academic year 2016/2017 since September - December 2016 with One group pretest-postets design. The data collection used observation method, test and quetionnaries. The data analysis techniqeus used descriptive analysis of quantitaive, qualitative and statistic non parametric. The result of this research are: 1) learning material developed has a valid category; 2) The practicality of learning material in terms of a good category in feasibility of lesson plans and the students activities in accordance with steps of CPS (Collaborative Problem Solving) model; and 3) the learning material effectiveness in terms of improving student learning achievement seen from the n-gain score with high category and improving Collaborative Problem Solving Skill and science literacy skill of student by getting the n gain score with high category and the student responds toward material and implementation of learning are very positive. It’s conclusion that the learning material through guided inquiry model are valid, practical, and effective to increase science literacy skill of student of Islamic primary school teachers.

Abstract

This paper is based on the study of Principals’ Instructional Leadership and School Effectiveness in Bangladesh. The main aim of this study was to examine the relationship between principals’ instructional leadership and effectiveness of the secondary schools of Bangladesh. It was carried out on the quantitative mode of research. As this study involves inquiring numerical data, a quantitative method was followed throughout the study. The major findings of the study showed that principals’ instructional leadership had positive impacts on students’ achievement, worthy classroom environment, respectable teaching-learning activities and above all maintaining decent academic standard of the school. The most important matter is that in Bangladesh there are some peripheral variables which impact the total education system such as political interruption, lack of awareness of community people, inadequate manpower in decision making level etc. As an instructional leader a principal with his/her strong instructional leadership skills can make the school environment impeccable and maintain a good affiliation with stakeholders. In this study, the researchers have found that the total effectiveness of a school mainly hinges on instruction and the schools which have a tendency to develop their systems must have a strong instructional leader. Instructional leadership doesn’t need an active environment but it can construct the environment effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to do develop interactive learning multimedia based microsoft excel on the temperature and heat. The concept of sciences especially of physics that deals with the formula and application are still difficult to understand by junior high school students. Students only memorization after that, do not apply the equation physics into the concept of about so as to make students quickly forget against an equation physics. Learning use media are still a few in every learning physics because the teacher had not optimized the utilization of media. To solve the problems so created learning innovation in the interactive form of media that can be pulled students in like learn physics by media Microsoft excel. Research methods that were used are the method research and development with the process of 4D (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination). Research development model 4D performed only reached the stage of development (Development) because the purpose of this research limited only develops and produces a medium learning who deserves to implemented based on the assessment validator. An instrument data collection is sheets of validation to the matter and media experts. Based on the results of validation media experts and the matter obtained the average a score of 3.30 and 3.37 to a category worthy of, so that media learning based Microsoft excel being used as a sciences learning media.

Abstract

Physics learning using scientific approach-integrated the real laboratory is a process to train student’s science process skills in the classroom. However, it is little known that using scientific approach-integrated virtual simulation has huge potential in training student’s science process skills. This study carried out was to acquire the description of enhancing student’s science process skills in physics learning that its learning activities refer to the syntax of scientific learning activities. The activities of learning were conducted with integrating virtual simulations during two times face to face in the classroom activities. There were 31 students as participants in one public senior high school in Bima, Indonesia. The pre-experiment method with one group pretest-posttest design is shown to illustrate the intervention of training of science process skills involved in the classroom. The data sources for this study were the result of the student’s score about science process skills measured by essay test combined rubrics.Furthermore, the science process skills measured from students encompassed skills of observing, communicating, clarifying, measuring, predicting, and interpreting. The results of the study depicted that there was significant increase of student’s science process skills (<g>=0.34; intermediate level) and significant difference between pretest score and posttest score (z=-4.861; p=0.0001).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the student's response towards the implementation of RMS learning model (Reading, Mind Mapping, and Sharing) in Philosophy of Science Learning. Type of research used is pre-experimental design. The research sample is 40 students from the first odd semester in the year of 2017/2018. The technique of analysing data used is quantitative descriptive. The result of the research shows that student response after implementation of RMS learning model gave the positive response of 92.5%. The highest student response indicator is on attention aspect with an average of 32, and the lowest on the satisfaction aspect with an average of 23.5.

Abstract

This research explains the concept of Islamization from an influential figure of Islam, Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi. He was born in Jaffa, Palestine at 1st January 1921. He was born in the middle of conflict between the countries to Israel. An influencer to Islamic nuance of science, he was one of the figures in the raising movement of Islamic at the First World Conference on Muslim Education in 1977 in Mecca. The path of the movement (1970s) contributes to the concept of Islamization. It is claimed that his mindset is also influenced by the activist of Islamization, Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas. The paradigm of this research is qualitative paradigm. The primary data were obtained from Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi’s book entitled Islamization of Knowledge: General Principles and Work Plan. Meanwhile, the secondary source came from journals, books, archives, or related documentation. Thus, the data were collected by library research by using some related literatures. The method of primary data interpretation used textual, contextual, and contextualized interpretation (hermeneutics effort). The writer also reviewed some sources constructed as systematic thoughts and implement it to the planning strategy of chemistry’s practicum. This research aimed to explore ideas of Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi regading the paradigm of Unity of Sciences. This theoretical framework was then developed to plan chemistry’s practicum for Senior High School students.
