Abstract

Kayu memiliki sifat dasar bervariasi berdasarkan jenis dan dalam satu jenis dipengaruhi oleh faktor genetic dan lingkungan. Pembentukan kayu reaksi selama pertumbuhan pohon diikuti oleh perbedaan sifat dasar kayu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan kadar komponen kimia kayu tekan dan oposit Pinus merkusii Jungh et de Vriese dan pengaruhnya terhadap sifat kayu sebagai bahanenergi. Sampel kayu tekan dan oppsit yang diambil dari potongan kayu berbentuk disk dibuat serbuk berukuran 40-60 mesh. Kadar komponen kimia kayu tekan dan oposit diuji denganmerujuk pada standar TAPPI-1990 dan analisis prosimat merujuk pada standar ASTM-1983. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kayu tekan memiliki kadar selulosa dan hemiselulosa lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan kayu oposit, sedangkan kadar lignin kayu tekan lebih tinggi dibandingkan kayu oposit. Kelarutan kayu dalam air dari kayu tekan tekan lebih rendah, sedangkan kelarutan dalam NaOH 1% lebih tinggi dibandingkan kayu oposit. Kayu tekan memiliki kadar zat terbang lebih rendah dan karbon terikat lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kayu oposit sehingga nilai kalor kayu tekan lebih tinggi dibandingkan kayu opositnya. Karakteristik kayu tekan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh tingginya kadar lignin dan lebih rendahnya kadar holoselulosa dibandingkan dengan kayu oposit. Kata kunci: kayu tekan, kayu oposit, Pinus merkusii, komponen kimia, analisis proksimat, nilai kalor.

Abstract

Cancer is one of the most lethal diseases. Recently, cancer immunotherapy has a tremendous achievement in cancer treatment. A certain number of cancer based epitope vaccines with different moiety have been discovered. In japan, several clinical tests of cancer based epitope vaccine derived from tumor associated antigens (TAAs) are now ongoing or have recently been completed. a novel of TAAs potentially as cancer vaccine have been retrieved from a fragment weighed 48kDa derived from human DNA-topoisomerase 1 (TOP1) called Topo48. Therefore, it is still critical to discover a derived Topo48 epitope based cancer vaccine. Immuno-informatics considered as a methods noted to have better accuracy to design promising vaccine candidates. Here, continuous and discontinuous B-cell epitopes following with CTL epitopes and their docking interaction to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I Human Leukocyte Antigens (HLA)- A0201 were predicted. Kolaskar-Tongaonkar’s, Emini’s, Karpus-Schulz’s, and Parker’s methods were used to predict continuous B-cell epitopes while ElliPro was used for prediction of discontinued B-cell epitopes. Those considered methods marked to have better accuracy to design promising vaccine candidates. Similarly, CTL epitopes was also predicted by using NetCTL server and the best candidates were further investigated their binding affinity by mean of PEP-FOLD3, PatchDock rigid-body docking server, and FireDock server. Total 27 continuous epitopes and 7 discontinuous B-cell epitopes were predicted. In the other hand, 9 peptides were predicted as CTL epitopes. Whereas, three predicted CTL epitope in range 263MLDHEYTTK27, 755AIDMADEDY763, 715ALGTSKLNY724) exhibited good interactions to HLA-A0201. Moreover, we also found residues His266, Thr270, Ala755, Tyr723, Thr718, Ser719, Lys720 from Topo48 and residues Thr163, Asp757, His70, Glu63 from HLA- A0201 were indicated to be antigenic. Ultimately, our proposed continuous/discontinuous B-cell epitopes, and also CTL epitopes can be potential vaccines for cancer immunotherapy.

Abstract

Land use in South Lampung Regency continues to experience development, which is influenced by rapid population growth within five years after the planning year began in 2010. Various types of land-use changes that have occurred in South Lampung Regency indicate in the spatial changes of South Lampung Regency, which has been planned especially in the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) of South Lampung Regency for 2011-2031, one of which is the plantation area (belonging to PTPN VII) to become land for ITERA. There are preventive measures that can be made so that the spatial plan can still be following its development objectives. It is necessary to research by evaluating South Lampung Regency's spatial use based on its spatial plan, especially by RTRW. Based on the analysis, there is a deviation of land use in South Lampung Regency with 48.46%, which is divided into spatial structure plans and spatial pattern plans.

Abstract

Tempoyak is fermented food made from durian (Durio zibethinus) pulp. This product is popular traditional food in Indonesia and Malaysia. To ensure the current position of tempoyak and its dishes in young generation, this research was conducted to obtain young adult perception about tempoyak as traditional food in Lampung, and also discover about its potential for innovation. Method for investigate the response of young adults to tempoyak as traditional food was using direct questionnaire survey through google form. A total of 115 respondents have participated in the survey, consisted of 43 men and 72 women. The result showed that all of the respondent were familiar with tempoyak, but only three-quarter of them had ever taste of its products. Half of the respondent were preferred intermediate acidity level of tempoyak, and the rest of them preferred tempoyak with low acidity level and sweet taste. More than 95% of respondents agreed that tempoyak needs innovation to be better known in public. The innovation needed were product form (55%), packaging innovation (21%), instant product innovation (18%), others (5%), and marketing strategy (1%).

Abstract

Microalgae excrete antioxidant compounds as a defense system to protect themselves from the danger of ultraviolet rays. These compounds also can be used as the organic materials of cosmetics or medicines. This study aimed to determine the antioxidant activity of marine microalgal extracellular metabolite extract of Spirulina sp.. Extracellular metabolites were extracted from the residual media filtrate from the harvesting. The qualitative antioxidant test’s results using the thin-layer chromatography technique and 2,2-diphenylpycrilhydrazil (DPPH) reagent showed antioxidant activity. Moreover, the component identification using ninhydrin and Dragendorff reagent in thin layer chromatography test showed alkaloid and peptide compounds. To support the results, the identification using infrared spectrum analysis showed the peaks at 1117 cm-1 (C-N and C-C stretching), 1458 cm-1 (C-H bending of methyl group), 1635 cm-1 (C=O stretching of amide group), and 3454 cm-1 (N-H stretching of amine and amide groups).

Abstract

Pertumbuhan sifat peri-urban pada wilayah pinggiran kota sudah banyak bermunculan. Kebutuhan lahan yang semakin tinggi nyatanya tidak sebanding dengan ketersediaan lahan di kota. Tingginya harga lahan juga menjadi pemicu masyarakat untuk memilih bermukim di kawasan pinggiran. Kawasan pinggiran kota yang sejatinya adalah desa, memiliki fungsi di bidang pertanian dengan mayoritas penggunaan lahan pertanian. Akibat fenomena perubahan lahan inilah, yang disinyalir akan memicu perubahan karakteristik perdesaannya, salah satunya adalah pertumbuhan penduduk. Aktivitas yang semakin heterogen di wilayah pinggiran akan meningkatkan angka pertumbuhan penduduk. Hal inilah yang dianggap mungkin terjadi di kecamatan-kecamatan Kabupaten Sukoharjo yang berbatasan dengan Kota Surakarta. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mencari tingkat pertumbuhan penduduk wilayah peri-urban di perbatasan Kota Surakarta dengan memanfaatkan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif. Teknik analisis ini dilakukan dengan cara pembobotan dan klasifikasi data pada unit amatan tingkat desa, dengan 2 perbandingan waktu data tahun 2010 dan tahun 2020. Dan hasil dari analisis yang telah dilakukan pada desa-desa di Kecamatan Kartasura, Kecamatan Baki, Kecamatan Grogol dan Kecamatan Mojolaban diketahui bahwa mayoritas pertumbuhan penduduk yang berada pada tingkat tinggi adalah di Kecamatan Kartasura, sedangkan kecamatan lain hanya menunjukan pertumbuhan di tingkat sedang hingga rendah.

Abstract

Cocoa beans from Indonesian farmers are not optimal to utilize dan has low quality because they have not done fermentation processing. The aim of this study was to process cocoa beans through fermentation by using Aspergillus niger and Saccharomyces cerevisiae by developing cocoa-pulp byproduct that can be converted to be alcohol. Fermentation process had done in two type of containers such as plastic and stainless steel material. It was observed to know the presence of olygodinamic effect from stainless steel material. The results showed that cacao pulp can be fermented by using Aspergillus niger and Saccharomyces cerevisiae in sensory test method with hyphae growth and strong aromatic from alcohol observation. Stainless steel material in fermentor tub did not give the oligodynamic effect for Aspergillus niger fungus and Saccharomyces cerevisiae growth. The Fermentation process produced 0.66 mL of alcohol from one kilogram fresh cocoa beans. The maximum bioethanol product is that happened in 4th day fermentation process about 5.30 %.

Abstract

Kandungan sukrosa, kandungan fosfat anorganik (Pi) dan kandungan thiol merupakan analisa diagnosa lateks yang berkaitan dengan kemampuan tanaman karet dalam pembentukan lateks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh usia tanaman karet terhadap analisa diagnosa lateks pada klon RRIM 921 pada usia tanaman karet dari usia 5 tahun sampai 24 tahun. Panel sistem sadap tanaman karet terdiri dari panel sistem sadap sorong (BO) pada usia tanaman 5 tahun sampai 12 tahun sedangkan panel sistem sadap tarik (HO) pada usia tanaman dari 16 tahun hingga 24 tahun (satu siklus tanaman karet). Potensi dan produktivitas latex dari tanaman karet tertinggi diperoleh sebanyak 4,8 kg/pohon dan 2401 kg/ha/tahun pada usia tanaman 15 tahun dengan panel sistem sadap HO1. Kandungan sukrosa maksimum diperoleh sebesar 9,9mM pada usia tanaman 15 tahun dengan panel sistem sadap HO1. Kandungan Pi tertinggi sebesar 26.5mM diperoleh pada usia tanaman karet 9 tahun dengan panel sistem sadap BO2. Kandungan thiol paling tinggi sekitar 0,98mM diperoleh pada usia tanaman karet 7 tahun dengan sistem panel sadap BO1.3. Selanjutnya maksimum DRC diperoleh sebesar 46,8% pada usia tanaman karet 14-16 tahun dengan panel sistem HO1 dan HO2.

Abstract

In this study, banana peel from ambon lumut (Musa acuminata) was used as source for nanocellulose fibers. Carboxylated nanocellulose was isolated with oxidation method using ammonium persulfate (APS). In order to investigate the effect of temperature towards the characteristics of nonocellulose, temperature for oxidation process was set at three different values: 60 °C, 70 °C, dan 80 °C. Nanostructure of cellulose was observed as a mix of fibers and whiskers from transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images. The diameter of nanocellulose is ranging from 12,1 to 25,1 nm. Data from spectrometry graphs (FTIR) confirms the existence of carboxyl functional groups in nanocellulose samples. X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD) shows that crystallinity index values increase as temperature of oxidation process increases. The highest crytallinity index value of 72,4% was obtained from nanocellulose treated with oxidation temperature of 80 °C. This analysis shows banana peel waste as a potential alternative source for carboxylated nanocellulose.

Abstract

Pada paper ini, dilakukan simulasi produksi energi dan keekonomian dari sistem PLTS terintegrasi dengan jaringan listrik yang merupakan bagian dari proyek instalasi sistem smart microgrid di bangunan Center for Advanced Sciences (CAS) ITB. Terdapat dua sistem PLTS yang dianalisis yaitu sistem PLTS 40 kWp tanpa baterai, dan sistem PLTS 10 kWp dengan baterai yang terhubung ke beban kritis. Kedua sistem PLTS tersebut dirancang dengan tujuan peak load shaving yang dapat meminimalisir adanya ketidakseimbangan antara produksi energi surya dan permintaan listrik. Kedua sistem dianalisis dengan metoda simulasi berdasarkan aspek energi dan ekonomi menggunakan perangkat lunak PVsyst dan Homer. Dari hasil simulasi sistem PLTS 40 kWp didapatkan nilai performance ratio (PR) sebesar 0,833, renewable fraction (RF) sebesar 18,73%, dan cost of energy (COE) sebesar Rp 1.251,85/kWh yang mana nilai PR dan COE telah memenuhi target bisnis: PR > 0.8 dan COE < Rp 1.467,28/kWh tetapi tidak memenuhi target RF > 35%. Sementara dari hasil simulasi sistem PLTS 10 kWp didapatkan nilai PR sebesar 0,77, RF sebesar 44,38% hingga 52,19% pada rentang depth of discharge 20% - 80%, dan COE sebesar Rp 2.103/kWh hingga Rp 6.315/kWh pada rentang DoD 20% - 80% yang mana hanya nilai RF telah memenuhi target bisnis.
