Abstract

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has limited energy characteristics so that the proper configuration is needed in order to create the WSN has a low energy consumption to extend the WSN’s life time. By utilizing the collision incident which is difficult to avoid while nodes transmit data packets so that it can reduce the network’s performance, and then makes it as an active - sleep scheduling that can improve the energy efficiency of WSN. So in this study, we proposed an Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) based routing protocol with collision based MAC 802.11 which will be compared with ACO based routing protocol with MAC 802.11 on WSN in terms of energy efficiency. The results obtained from the simulation carried out is that WSN on the grid topology with the small number of nodes (12 nodes) that using an ACO routing protocol with MAC 802.11 collision based has increased energy efficiency by 91.7% while with the large number of nodes (70 nodes) has increased energy efficiency by 81.4%.

Abstract

Indonesia is a wood producing with large number of forest and various type of trees in less than 4000 species of trees in Indonesia’s forest. The activity of wood identification is effort to get information about kind of wood. The identification type of wood that have similar characteristics, it is difficult to identify the right type of wood. The characteristic can be allotted to two group, general characteristic and anatomy characteristic. General characteristics can be seen directly by the senses without tools, while anatomy characteristics can be seen with tools such as loupe or microscope. Convolutional Neural Network with mobilenet architecture is a Deep Learning method that can be use identify and classifying an object. In this study, using 1000 images for 10 types of wood in each type. The images split into 90 images training dataset dan 10 images for validation datasets captured by mobilephone. Based on the result of research, the obtained level of accuracy 98% training, 93,3% testing, 28% recall, and 93% for precission. That result can be concluded that performance from this model in this research is optimal to classification the kind of wood.

Abstract

Large parking area and no sign, will make it difficult for vehicle owners to remember and find the location of the parked. Therefore, a guide system becomes one of the important things in a large parking area. The technology that can be utilized in navigation systems is bluetooth technology, which has now called BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) with a signal reach of 100 meters, data transfer speeds 1 Mbps and low power consumption. The information from a BLE module is the value of RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) which shows the signal strength received. The guide system installed on a smartphone as a receiver and BLE module as a transmitter on the vehicle. The mobile application will convert the RSSI into the distance between smartphone and vehicle, and will be displayed a guide to the vehicle. Based on the trials that have been carried out obtained an average distance error of 0.92 meters, this is due to the ups and downs of the RSSI value received. When the RSSI value received is small, it raises of accuracy. So the distance between BLE and receiver will affect the RSSI value received and affect the position accuracy of the application.

Abstract

Pada era teknologi yang serba online saat ini, salah satu upaya untuk menjaga kualitas jaringan yang diberikan kepada pelanggan dibutuhkan suatu sistem atau network yang membantu untuk mengatasi gangguan yang berkepanjangan di pelanggan. Untuk upaya mengatasi dalam permasalahan ini PT Lintasarta menggunakan jasa Internet Protokol Virtual Private Network (IPVPN) dan akses Fiber Optic(FO) yang terhubung antar kantor pusat dan kantor cabang. Pada umumnya akses fiber optic mengalami gangguan seperti FO Cut, dimana dibutuhkan waktu penanganan yang cukup lama. Dengan ini peneliti mengusulkan di suatu perusahaan mempunyai backup link yang cepat pemasangannya dan mudah dalam implementasi dengan sistem failover, dengan minimalisir downtime sebesar 80 %. Fortigate 50 E menjadi alternatif pengganti jika akses mainlink bermasalah. Backup link menggunakan internet The Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) yang dibuat Virtual Private Network (VPN), salah satu fitur dari VPN yaitu IPSec Tunneling yang memberikan keamanan pada lapisan internet protokol (IP) sebagai pertukaran data. Hasil dari penelitian dengan dual link jaringan FO lebih bagus dibanding dengan modem GSM, dengan nilai rata – rata FO sebagai berikut packet loss 1% , delay FO 0,105 s, dan latency dual link sangat bagus. Namun disisi lain jaringan GSM mampu membackup ketika jaringan FO down, sehingga meminimalisir terjadinya downtime.

Abstract

Medical imaging is a presentment of human organ parts. Medical imaging is saved on a film; therefore, it needs a big saving quota. Compressing is a process to remove redundancy from a piece of information without reducing its quality. This study recommended compressed medical image with DWT (Discrete Wavelet Transform) with adaptive threshold added and entropy copying with the Run Length Encoding (RLE) coding. This study is comparing several parameters, such as compressed ratio and compressed image file size, and PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) for analyzing the quality of reconstructive image. The study showed that the comparison of rate, compressed ratio, and PSNR tracing of Haar and Daubechies doesn’t have a significant difference. Comparison of rate, compressed ratio, and PSNR tracing on the hard and soft threshold is the rate of the sold threshold is lower than the hard threshold. The optimal outcome of this study is to use a soft threshold.

Abstract

The high reliability of data access has become a problem faced by many companies, institutions, and universities. For this reason, a protocol required that can protect the network from a communication breakdown. One method used to maintain communication is by implementing a protocol redundancy system. One or more routers will act as the primary router for load balancing, and some routers are in standby mode if one main router is down. First hop redundancy protocols (FHRP) is a protocol that implements redundancy and load balancing systems. This protocol can transfer access data traffic if one of the routers on the network is down. FHRP divided into virtual router redundancy protocol (VRRP) and gateway load balancing Protocol (GLBP). This research analyzes the design and implementation to provide information about the quality of VRRP and GLBP services on the main router and the backup router, by using an application graphical network simulator (GNS) simulation 3. In the GNS3 application, a LAN network topology is designed with eight router devices in the form of a ring topology using RIPv2 and OSPF routing protocols, then implemented in protocols VRRP and GLBP. The analysis results show that GLBP can back up the network faster than VRRP when the primary router is down. If implemented into a LAN network with RIPv2 and OSPF routing protocols, VRRP has better service quality than GLBP.

Abstract

The quality of students can be seen from the academic achievements, which are evidence of the efforts made by students. Student academic achievement is evaluated at the end of each semester to determine the learning outcomes that have been achieved. If a student cannot meet certain academic criteria that are stated by fulfilling the requirements to continue his studies, the student may have the potential to not graduate on time or even Drop Out (DO). The high number of students who do not graduate on time or DO in higher education institutions can be minimized by detecting students who are at risk in the early stages of education and is supported by making policies that can direct students to complete their education. Also, if the time for completion of student studies can be predicted then the handling of students will be more effective. One technique for making predictions that can be used is data mining techniques. Therefore, in this study, the Naive Bayes Classifier (NBC) algorithm will be used to predict student graduation at Telkom University. The dataset was obtained from the Information Systems Directorate (SISFO), Telkom University which contained 4000 instance data. The results of this study prove that NBC was successfully implemented to predict student graduation. Prediction of the graduation of these students is able to produce an accuracy of 73,725%, precision 0.742, recall 0.736 and F-measure of 0.735.

Abstract

N-Queen problem is a form of puzzle game that uses chess rules for the queen on the standard chessboard with modified size. The challenge of the n-queen problem is finding the N ( N is positive integer) queens position on the chessboard, so that no queen can attack another queen on the board in a single move. Implementation of firefly algorithm in n-queens problem in this study aims to find n-queen problem solutions and count the number of iterations to achieve the optimal solution of each queen which will then be compared with the results of Sarkar and Nag's research (2017). This study uses an experimental method with a number of N between 10 to 20 and uses a population of 15 and 1000 firefly. The results showed that the firefly algorithm is able to find all the optimal solutions for the queen's position on a chessboard with dimensions 10 to 20 in a population of 1000 firefly. The firefly algorithm can find the optimal solution fewer iterations compared to the genetic algorithm. According to the experiment, firefly algorithm shows better performance in finding the optimal solution compared to genetic algorithm.

Abstract

It's very rare to find people who can easily read the Koran, dhikr and give alms especially for workers. Busy activity makes them feel difficult to do religious activities, especially if they have to carry the holy book Al-Quran and Tasbih. along with these problems the presence of technology is very much needed as an alternative to the holy book of the Koran to uphold the community in carrying out their worship activities in their preoccupations. Therefore, in the current research an application will be made as a Tool and Guidance for Islamic Worship, an application that can help the community more easily in conducting worship activities reading Al-Quran and Dhikr. This application uses the RAD (Rapid Application Development) method. From the results of this study produce a Zipedia application by implementing a Rapid Application development method, the conclusion that with the Rapid Application development method can produce Islamic applications that can facilitate the community in worshiping, the conclusion that with the RAD method in conducting worship.

Abstract

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are small devices that are run by batteries as minimal energy resources. The cluster method is one of the ways on WSN that is widely applied to the routing protocols to extend the network's lifespan. Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) is a cluster-based protocol proven to increase energy efficiency in sensor networks. However, LEACH also has disadvantages such as a selection of cluster heads that don't consider residual energy at every node. It is the cause of failure in the election process and affects the stability of the network cluster. Period network stability is essential as reliable feedback from a network. Therefore, this study tries to investigate and solve stability problems in the LEACH algorithm. In this paper, the authors propose a new protocol that is Optimization-LEACH (O-LEACH), which is the development of the LEACH protocol. The O-LEACH protocol cluster-head selection process is developed based on the initial energy of each node, and a new beginning energy levels calculated from each node to every round. The test results show that the proposed O-LEACH protocol has a better stability period and network lifetime than the LEACH protocol.
