Abstract

This study aims to develop and determine the feasibility of ethnomathematics-based learning multimedia in junior high school students. This research used Research and Development methods with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). This research was conducted at Junior High School 19 Purworejo. The instruments used in this study were validation sheets, student questionnaire responses sheets, and test questions. The results of data analysis obtained from the assessment of media experts, learning and material on multimedia developed obtained an average rating of 3.63 with valid criteria. The results of the questionnaire data analysis of student responses to multimedia learning based on ethnomathematics obtained very practical criteria with a percentage of 81%. Learning multimedia is declared effective based on the effectiveness of the test results using the t-test; it can be concluded that there is a difference between before and after learning multimedia based on ethnomathematics. Thus, ethnomathematics-based learning multimedia developed in this study is categorized as suitable for mathematics learning in junior high school.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a Canva-assisted mathematics learning video product that is valid, practical and effective in learning. This development research was carried out at SMP Negeri 2 Lolak which focused on learning mathematics videos assisted by Canva data presentation materials. This research has been carried out based on the instructional media development procedure referring to the ADDIE development stage which consists of five stages of development namely (1) analysis (analyze), (2) design (design), (3) development (development), (4) Implementation (implement), (5) evaluation (evaluate). The results of the development of Canva-assisted mathematics learning videos using the ADDIE model are based on the validation of learning videos by 2 material and media experts. The total score obtained from media experts is 68 points with a percentage of 94.44% (appropriate) and the total score from material experts is 56 points with a percentage of 93.33% (appropriate). The results of the validation of the small group student response questionnaire on the practicality of the media obtained a total score of 94 points with a percentage of 78.33% (practical) and a large group score of 692 points with a percentage of 86.50% (very practical). Then for student learning outcomes at the time of pretest and posttest there was an increase in the number of student learning outcomes at the time of pretest, the total value of 1100 increased to 1655 at the time of posttest. There was an increase of 555 points. Second, there was an increase in the average value of student learning outcomes at the pretest with an average score of 55 (55%) increasing to 82.75 (83%) at the posttest. There was an increase of 27.75 points (28%). The results showed that the Canva-assisted mathematics learning video on the data presentation material obtained an average interpretation of the appropriate assessment and obtained the appropriate (valid) decision results. From the steps that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the mathematics learning videos assisted by Canva data presentation materials are valid, practical and effective to use.

Abstract

21st century skills require students to be able to keep up with the times that are full of challenges. One of the requirements to realize 21st century skills is the literacy ability of students. One of the literacy skills that students must possess is numeracy. This type of research is qualitative where the method used is descriptive method. The form of research used in this research is case study research. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII B SMP Negeri 02 Seponti consisting of 19 students who had received cube and block material. The research was conducted on Mey 25 , 2022. The steps used in this research are: the implementation stage, the preparation stage and the final stage. The purpose of this study was to determine the Mathematical Numeration Ability based on the Student's Cognitive Level in Class VIII Cubes and Blocks at SMP N 2 Seponti. Instruments in this study were tests and interviews. The results showed that only 10% of students in class VIII B SMP N 2 Seponti had high numeracy skills, 53% had moderate abilities and 37% students had low abilities .

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' conceptual understanding abilities in class V fraction material at SDN 06 Selakau. The research used is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were fifth grade students at SD Negeri 06 Selakau. The object of this research is the ability of students' conceptual understanding in mathematics in class V SDN 06 Selakau. The results showed that students' conceptual understanding abilities for each category were 16.6% of students who had high conceptual understanding abilities and 33.3% of students who had low conceptual understanding abilities while 50% of these students had moderate conceptual understanding abilities. From the results of the highest percentage per indicator is 55.2% achievement in the indicator of presenting the concept in various forms of mathematical representation, while the lowest is in the indicator of using, utilizing, and selecting certain procedures or operations with 51.04% achievement. Thus, most of the factors that influence students' conceptual understanding abilities are that students are unable to understand the questions and concepts referred to by the questions given, and still rely on answers from friends and parental assistance.

Abstract

SPLDV is one of the materials that corresponds to aspects of reflective thinking skills where students are required to be able to solve problems according to the understanding and concept of reflective thinking. So that students' reflective thinking skills become an important thing in solving SPLDV problems. Meanwhile, the ability to think reflectively can be honed by solving PISA-based questions by paying attention to the steps for solving them. This study aims to determine students' reflective thinking skills in solving PISA-based math problems in SPLDV material for students with critical thinking abilities. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this research were class VIII A students of SMP Negeri 10 Semarang consisting of 3 students, 1 student with high critical thinking ability, 1 student with moderate critical thinking ability, and 1 student with low critical thinking ability. The selection of subjects was based on the results of critical thinking skills tests on the SPLDV material. Data collection techniques used in this study were tests, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Techniques for checking the validity of the data using the triangulation method. The results of this study indicate that students with high critical thinking skills can fulfill 4 indicators of reflective thinking skills. Students with moderate critical thinking skills can fulfill 3 indicators of reflective thinking skills. Meanwhile, students with low critical thinking skills meet 2 indicators of reflective thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of learning mathematics after applying Project Based Learning (PjBL) with performance assessments on students' mathematical reasoning abilities and analyzing students' mathematical reasoning abilities in terms of self-confidence in PjBL learning with performance assessments. The research method used is a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design. In this study six research subjects were taken based on the level of self-confidence in class X-10 students of SMA Negeri 7 Semarang for the 2022/2023 academic year. The results showed that (1) PjBL learning with an effective performance assessment of students' mathematical reasoning abilities, and (2) research subjects with high self-confidence categories were able to meet all indicators of mathematical reasoning ability to present mathematical statements, make conjectures, manipulate mathematics, draw conclusions , checking the validity of arguments, and finding patterns of mathematical phenomena; subjects in the medium self-confidence category only meet the indicators of presenting mathematical statements, making conjectures, mathematical manipulation; subjects with low self-confidence category only met the indicators of mathematical reasoning ability, namely mathematical manipulation. Recommendations for students with low levels of self-confidence who have not been able to achieve indicators of presenting statements, making conjectures, checking the validity of arguments, and finding patterns of mathematical phenomena by giving assignments independently and doing peer tutoring.

Abstract

Students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in a public school in Semarang are still not optimal. According to Kurniasih (2020), one way to improve Higher Order Thinking Skills is by getting students used to practicing HOTS-based questions to develop students' higher-order thinking skills well. Therefore, this study aims to develop HOTS-based questions. This development uses the 4D steps developed by Thiagaraja, namely definition, design, development, and deployment. This research aims to develop a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based question instrument on curved side geometric shapes, so that it can support students' HOTS abilities. The results of the calculation of the agreement index given by the three experts obtained an average of 0.95. Therefore, the HOTS-based question instrument on curvilinear material is valid with a very high validity index
